Using the Compatibility Guide

This guide helps determine which Plantronics headset models are compatible with various telephone systems and their telsets. Follow these steps:

  1. Locate the telephone Manufacturer: Manufacturers are listed alphabetically.
  2. Locate the telephone System.
  3. Locate the specific telephone Telset model.
  4. Identify compatible Headset group(s) and proper switch settings: Look to the right of the telset model.
    • M1 = M10 / M12 on switch position 1
    • M5 = M10 / M12 on switch position 5 with batteries installed.
    • J1 = JSB180-1 with P10
    • P10 = Standard plug finger amplifier
    • P10H = High gain plug finger amplifier
    • NO = Not compatible

    If a small letter (e.g., ª) appears, refer to the end of the section for that manufacturer for an explanation.

  5. CA/CS 10 Switch settings:
    • CA/CS 10 on switch position 1-B equals M10/M12 on switch position 1 (Carbon Phones)
    • CA/CS 10 not compatible with Comdial Impact or Siemens Dyad and Jr-Dyad Phones; 47521-01 cord required for use on phones with an M2 setting.
    • CA/CS 10 on switch position 2-B equals M10/M12 on switch position 5 (Electret Phones).
    • CA/CS 10 on switch position 1, 2 or 3-A are for GE 2-9450 Phones.
  6. S10 Switch settings:
    • S10 on position 1 equals M10/M12 on switch position 1,3,4 and 5.
    • S10 on position 2 equals Definity phones - no M10/M12 equivalent.
    • S10 on position 3 equals M10/M12 on switch position 2.
    • S10 on position 4 equals GE 2-9450 phones - no M10/M12 equivalent.
    • S10 on position 5 equals Siemens phones - no M10/M12 equivalent.
    • S10 on position 6 equals N. W. Bell phones - no M10/M12 equivalent.
    • The S10 is compatible with the same phones as an M10/M12.
  7. Refer to Appendix A, Guide to Special Headset Groups for a listing of all Plantronics headsets within each Headset Group.
  8. Refer to Appendix B, Cross Reference Chart to cross reference old product/groups with new technology.
  9. Refer to Appendix C, SP05/PLX500 Compatibility Information.
