Installation Guide
The total installation time is generally less than 30 minutes. For assistance, contact support@lockin.com.
1. Verify Door Meets Installation Requirements
Remove your existing lock and check if your door meets the following specifications. If not, you may need to drill new holes.
- Door Thickness: 13/8" - 211/64" (35-55 mm)
- Cross Bore Diameter: 11/2" (38 mm) or 21/8" (54 mm)
- Backset: 23/8" (60 mm) or 23/4" (70 mm)
- Minimum Knob-to-Hole Distance: 3" (75 mm)
- Door Hole Diameter: 1" (25.4 mm)
Note: The Veno Plus is not compatible with storm doors as the security plate may obstruct the camera. Ensure your door is a standard entry door without a storm door before installation.
2. Install the Deadbolt Latch Body
Determine if the length of the deadbolt latch body needs adjustment based on the backset measurement.
Insert the deadbolt latch body into the door edge bore. Ensure the "TOP" marking faces upwards and the T-shaped slot for the tailpiece is centered.
Before installing the deadbolt, route the door status sensor cable through the side hole of the door and pull it through from the interior. Be careful not to damage the cable.
3. Install the Exterior Assembly
Measure the cross bore diameter of your door.
- If the diameter is 21/8" (54 mm), install the exterior assembly directly.
- If the diameter is 11/2" (38 mm), remove the spacer before installing the exterior assembly.
Ensure the exterior assembly is securely fixed vertically. It may be helpful to have a family member or friend assist in holding the assembly in place.
Ensure the cable passes under the deadbolt mechanism.
4. Install the Interior Mounting Plate
Detach the interior mounting plate and the battery cover from the interior assembly.
Pass the cables through the mounting plate slot.
Align the mounting plate with the threaded posts.
IMPORTANT: Before inserting and tightening screws, follow these steps:
- Pass the door status cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate.
- Pass the power cable and Wi-Fi cable over the door status cable through the designated hole on the mounting plate.
- Carefully straighten the door status cable to avoid damage.
- Align and insert the screws, ensuring the cable is positioned below and not pinched.
- Manually align the screws with the nuts through the guide holes of the lock body, then tighten them with a screwdriver.
To facilitate installation, ask someone to hold the exterior assembly to ensure it is securely fixed and does not tilt.
Use a screwdriver to secure your screws.
5. Install the Interior Assembly
Plug the power cable, door status cable, and Wi-Fi cable into the corresponding ports on the interior assembly.
Follow these steps for installation:
- Connect the door status cable to port 1.
- Connect the Wi-Fi cable to port 2.
- Connect the power cable to port 3.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the power cable is correctly connected.
To disconnect the Wi-Fi cable, gently pull the handle.
Insert the tailpiece into the T-shaped slot of the interior assembly. Ensure cables are neatly stored in the designated space within the interior assembly to avoid pinching during insertion.
Ensure the deadbolt is retracted and set the thumb turn to the vertical position.
Arrange the cables to avoid pinching them when inserting the deadbolt tailpiece into the interior assembly.
Secure the interior assembly tightly to the door panel using the interior assembly screws (M4*12 x 3). Then, ensure the silicone plug is installed.
3. Verify the bolt can extend and retract smoothly by turning the thumb turn without obstruction.
6. Install the Strike Plate and Strike Box
Ensure the depth of the latch hole on the door frame for the strike plate installation is at least 1 inch (25.4 mm). Otherwise, the initial calibration process after installation may fail, leading to future malfunctions.
Install the strike plate and strike box onto the door frame.
The door sensor on the strike plate must be aligned with the corresponding sensor on the deadbolt.
Option: Install a reinforced latch plate for added security.
