Creality Ender-3 S1 Quick Installation Guide
Important Safety Notes
To avoid personal injury or property damage, use the printer only as described in this guide. Do not place the printer near heat sources or flammable/explosive objects. Ensure a well-ventilated, low-dust environment. Avoid unstable environments or violent vibrations, which can affect print quality. For experimental filaments, calibrate with standard filaments like ABS or PLA first. Do not touch the hot nozzle or printing surface during operation. Use provided tools for cleaning the hotend; do not touch the heated nozzle directly. Turn off the power before cleaning and wipe with a dry cloth. Use glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol for the print surface before each print. Do not manually move the nozzle or printing platform during boot-up, as this can trigger an automatic power-off safety feature. Users must comply with local laws and regulations and use the equipment ethically and legally. Creality is not liable for any illegal use of its products.

Product Installation
5.1 Nozzle Assembly and Wire Clamp Installation
A. Place the nozzle assembly onto the mounting back panel of the extruder. Pre-lock with four M3x6 hexagon socket head cap screws, then tighten securely.
B. Clip the wire clamp to the back panel of the X-axis motor.
5.2 Gantry Frame Installation
A. Extend the right profile of the bottom component approximately 35mm from the desktop to expose the installation holes.
B. Position the gantry frame into the slot of the base. Pre-lock with two M5x45 hexagon socket head spring washer combination screws from bottom to top through the holes.
C. Rotate the bottom assembly 180 degrees to ensure the profiles on both sides are level. Pre-lock with two M5x45 hexagon socket head spring washer combination screws on the left hole, then tighten securely.
D. Rotate the bottom assembly another 180 degrees and tighten the screw on the right side. Use the short side of the wrench for tightening.
5.3 Display Installation
A. Mount the display bracket onto the side of the right profile, securing it with three M4x18 hexagon flat round head screws.
B. Align the pins on the back of the display with the large holes on the display bracket, insert them, and slide down to tighten.
5.4 Material Rack Installation
A. Attach the material pipe accessory to the threaded end on the right side of the material rack.
B. Align the front slot of the installed material rack with the front slot of the profile, then press down to clamp the bottom of the profile.
5.5 Equipment Wiring
Connect the following cables:
- Connect the nozzle assembly to the 24-pin port.
- Connect the X and Z axis stepper motors to the 6-pin (4 wires) ports, guided by the yellow labels.
- Connect the X-axis limit switch to the 3-pin (2 wires) port, guided by the yellow label.
- Connect the 3-pin (3 wires) 2.0 port to the display keyset, and the 3-pin (2.54) port to the filament detector.
Power Supply Voltage Note: Ensure the correct position for the power supply switch and mains connection. If mains voltage is 100V-120V, select the 115V setting. If mains voltage is 200V-240V, select the 230V setting (default).
Auto Leveling
(Recommended: Use CR-Touch auto-leveling. If CR-Touch is damaged, install the Z-axis limit switch and manually level the bed. Refer to the SD card instructions for details.)
- Turn on the equipment and select 'Level'. The printer will home, perform 16-point auto-calibration, and then home again to complete leveling.
- Navigate to 'Prepare > Z-offset'. Adjust the Z-axis compensation value so the nozzle is approximately the thickness of an A4 paper (0.08-0.1mm) from the printing platform. Click the knob to confirm the setting.
Auxiliary Leveling
Use auxiliary leveling if the printing platform inclination exceeds 2mm, as CR-Touch leveling may fail.
- Enter 'Control > Reset configuration' to reset printer parameters.
- Enter 'Prepare > Auto Home' to return to the starting position.
- Enter 'Prepare > Move > Move Z' and clear the value.
- Enter 'Prepare > Z-offset'. Adjust the Z-axis compensation value so the nozzle height from the platform is nearly the thickness of an A4 paper (0.08-0.1mm) for center point leveling. Confirm by clicking the knob.
- Enter 'Prepare > Disable stepper' to turn off all motors.
- Adjust the knobs at the bottom of the hot bed. Move the nozzle to the four corners of the printing platform, ensuring the nozzle-to-platform height is approximately the thickness of an A4 paper (0.08-0.1mm) at each corner for leveling.
Correct nozzle height ensures proper filament adhesion. If the nozzle is too high, filaments won't attach. If too low, filaments may not extrude properly or scratch the platform.
Load Filaments
A. Trim the filament end to a 45-degree angle for smooth loading.
B. Pass the filament through the filament detector hole. Press the extruder handle and insert the filament along the extruder hole until it reaches the nozzle.
C. Preheat the nozzle. Once the temperature is reached, filament should flow out, indicating successful loading.
Replace Filaments
- When not printing: Heat the nozzle above 185°C to soften filament. Press the extrusion handle and quickly pull out the filament to prevent jamming. Install new filament as per step 8.
- When printing: Pause printing. Once the printer stops, press the extrusion handle and quickly pull out the filament. Replace with new filament, threading it through the sensor, pressing the handle, and inserting it into the extruder. Push filament to clear residual material and resume printing after cleaning.
