Product Components
The Philips water filter pitcher includes the following main components:
- 1. Timer (indicator): Used to track filter life.
- 2. Filtered water outlet: Where filtered water dispenses.
- 3. Raw water funnel: Where unfiltered tap water is poured.
- 4. Filtered water jug: The main body of the pitcher that holds filtered water.
- 5. Filter cartridge: The replaceable filter element.
- 6. Handle: For carrying the pitcher.
- 7. Cover: Protects the filtered water.
- 8. Tap water inlet: The opening for filling the pitcher with tap water.
Getting Started: Setting Up Your Filter Pitcher
- Open the box and take out the filter cartridge. Note: It is common for the filter cartridge surface to have some carbon powder; these particles are harmless and will be washed off during the preparation process.
- Clean the water jug and funnel. They are dishwasher safe (maximum 50°C). Hand wash the lid if it comes with a timer; otherwise, the lid is also dishwasher safe.
- Soak the filter cartridge in clean water for 15 minutes. Gently shake the filter cartridge to wash off the carbon powder from its surface.
- Ensure the sealing ring is properly seated. Press the filter down firmly to ensure a tight seal.
- Activate the timer (applicable for models with a timer): Press and hold the "SET" button firmly for 3 seconds.
- Fill the pitcher with tap water. Discard your first two pitchers of filtered water.
- Enjoy your clean, filtered water.
Filter Replacement Timer
The timer helps you track when to replace your filter cartridge. Philips recommends replacing the filter cartridge at least every 30 days for optimal performance. The timer has a 30-day countdown. A new pitcher with a timer will show a blank display until it is activated.
Timer Operation:
- Activation: Press and hold the "SET" button firmly for 3 seconds to activate the timer.
- Normal Reset: When the display shows "00" after replacing the filter cartridge, press and hold the "SET" button firmly for 3 seconds to start a new countdown cycle.
- Forced Reset: To reset the timer at any time within a cycle, press and hold the "SET" button firmly for 8 seconds.
During the countdown, a dot will flash, and the number of days and the graph will decrease. It starts at 30 days. Please replace the filter when the timer shows "00".
