Wearing the Headset
Adjusting the Headset
Adjust the headband so the headset fits comfortably on your head.
Microphone Boom Arm Placement
Rotate the microphone boom arm down or up in one smooth motion. When using the microphone, position the end of the boom arm close to your mouth.
Folding for Storage
You can fold the earcups to easily store the headphones in the carrying case.
Charging
The headset can be charged using the optional charging cradle or by connecting a USB cable directly to the headset. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, providing up to 37 hours of battery life. A 15-minute charge can provide up to 8 hours of usage.
Charging with the Charging Cradle (Optional Accessory)
Connect the charging cradle to a USB port on your computer using the included USB cable and place the headset in the cradle. The status light on the headset will flash briefly to indicate it is correctly placed. The battery light will then flash green, yellow, or red to show charging status. A solid green light indicates a full charge.
Charging with the USB Cable
Connect the included USB cable to the USB-C port on the left earcup and to a free USB port on your computer. While the Jabra-provided cable is recommended, a compatible charger can also be used.
Sleep Mode
When the headset is on but not worn, it automatically enters sleep mode after 8 hours to conserve battery. Press any button to exit sleep mode. After 24 hours in sleep mode, the headset will turn off completely. To turn it back on, slide the On/Off switch to Off and then back to On. The sleep mode timer can be adjusted in the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.
Understanding the Lights
STATUS LIGHT (Left Earcup):
- Solid: Powered on/battery full
- Pulsing: Battery partially charged
- Slow flashing: Battery low
- Fast flashing: Battery critically low
- Flashing blue: Pairing mode
- Flashing pink: Resetting/firmware updating
- Solid white: Headset placed in optional charging cradle
BUSYLIGHT/MICROSOFT* LIGHT:
- Solid red: In a call
- Slow flashing blue: Attempting to connect to Microsoft Teams. Timeout after 10 seconds*

Connecting
Connecting to a Computer
Insert the included Jabra Link 380/390 into a free USB port on your computer. The Jabra Evolve2 85 and Jabra Link 380/390 are pre-paired and ready to use out of the box. The Bluetooth range is 30 meters. You may need to set the Jabra Link 380/390 as the audio device in your operating system's sound settings. Download and use Jabra Direct to manually pair the Jabra Evolve2 85 with the Jabra Link 380/390.
Pairing with a Smartphone
- Slide the On/Off switch to the Bluetooth position and hold it there until the light flashes blue and you hear an announcement in the headset.
- Go to the Bluetooth menu on your smartphone and select the Jabra Evolve2 85 from the list of available devices.
Connecting to the 3.5mm Port
Connect the included audio cable to the 3.5mm port on the headset. When connected via the audio cable, the headset's microphone and Bluetooth are disabled. The smartphone's microphone will be used for calls. You can control volume and ANC/HearThrough using the headset buttons.
Using the Headset
Powering On/Off
Slide the On/Off switch to the On or Off position to turn the headset on or off.

Sound Modes (Left Earcup)
- Press the Sound Modes button to cycle through available Sound modes: ANC, Off, HearThrough.
- Hold the Sound Modes button for 1 second to switch between Moments in Jabra Sound+. Moments can be customized in the Jabra Sound+ app.
On-Ear Detection
The headset has integrated sensors that detect when it is being worn. This enables features like automatic music pausing when the headset is removed and automatic call muting. Removing the headset while listening to music will pause it; putting it back on will resume playback. Removing the headset during a call will mute the call; putting it back on will unmute it. Head detection and its individual actions can be configured via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.
Busylights
The busylights turn red automatically when you are in a call, indicating you should not be disturbed. To manually turn the busylights on or off, simultaneously press the Volume up and Volume down buttons. Busylights only activate when the headset is worn. Busylight settings can be configured via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
ANC eliminates background noise by generating an anti-signal. Press the Sound Modes button to cycle through Sound modes until ANC is announced to enable it.
HearThrough™
HearThrough uses the integrated microphones to allow you to listen to your surroundings and participate in conversations without removing your headset. Press the Sound Modes button to cycle through Sound modes until HearThrough is announced to enable it. HearThrough settings can be configured via the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.
Muting On/Off Using the Microphone Boom Arm
The microphone mute function can be toggled by flipping the microphone boom arm up (mute) or down (unmute). This function can be enabled or disabled in the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.
Answering Calls Using the Microphone Boom Arm
An incoming call can be answered by moving the microphone boom arm down. This feature is enabled by default and can be disabled in the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct.
Multiuse
The headset can be paired with up to eight Bluetooth devices and connected to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously (e.g., the Jabra Link 380/390 and a smartphone, or two smartphones). The headset can accept multiple incoming calls from both devices. To pair two Bluetooth devices, follow the usual pairing procedure for each device separately. The voice assistant will activate on the last paired Bluetooth device.

Voice Guidance
Voice guidance announcements help with configuration and provide status updates (e.g., connection and battery status). Voice guidance is enabled by default. You can enable or disable voice guidance using the Jabra Sound+ app or Jabra Direct. For the latest list of supported languages, refer to Jabra Sound+ or Jabra Direct. To enable/disable voice guidance, press and hold the Voice button and the Volume up button for 5 seconds until you hear an announcement in the headset.
Resetting the Headset
Resetting the headset erases the list of paired devices and all settings. Ensure the headset is powered on and not on a call. Then, simultaneously press and hold the Multi-function button and the Volume up button for 3 seconds, until the indicator light turns pink and you hear an announcement in the headset. You will need to re-pair the headset with the Jabra Link 380/390 via Jabra Direct or with your smartphone (see section 6.2).

The Jabra Sound+ app allows you to personalize your music and calls. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.
Jabra Direct
Jabra Direct is computer software designed to support and manage Jabra devices for optimal functionality. Download the latest free version at jabra.com/direct.
Updating Firmware
Updating firmware can improve performance or add new functionality to Jabra devices. The headset firmware can be updated via Jabra Direct on your computer or the Jabra Sound+ app on your smartphone. The Jabra Link 380/390 Bluetooth adapter firmware can be updated via Jabra Direct on your computer.

Maintaining Your Headset
- Always store your headset in the provided carrying case.
- To keep the battery in optimal condition, avoid storing the headset in extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
- If the headset gets wet from rain, allow it sufficient time to dry. It may take up to an hour for the headset to dry properly before it can be turned on.
- It is recommended to store the headset at temperatures between -20°C and 55°C.
- Do not store the headset without charging for extended periods (maximum three months).
