Important Safeguides

Before use, the appliance must be properly positioned and installed as described. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury, follow basic precautions:

  • Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not remove the grounding prong, use an adapter, or an extension cord.
  • A separate circuit serving only your appliance is recommended. Use receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
  • Never clean appliance parts with flammable fluids, as their fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion. Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids nearby.
  • Disconnect the power line before cleaning or maintenance.
  • Do not connect or disconnect the electric plug with wet hands.
  • Unplug the appliance or disconnect power before cleaning or servicing to avoid electrical shock or death.
  • Do not attempt to repair or replace parts yourself; refer all other servicing to a qualified technician.
  • Use two or more people to move and install the appliance to avoid injury.
  • Ensure proper ventilation: the front of the unit must be unobstructed. Operate in a well-ventilated area with temperatures between 60°F (16°C) and 90°F (32°C), protected from elements like wind, rain, or water spray.
  • Do not locate the appliance next to ovens, grills, or other sources of high heat.
  • Install with electrical connections in accordance with state and local codes. A standard 115V AC, 60Hz grounded electrical supply is required.
  • Do not kink or pinch the power supply cord.
  • The fuse or circuit breaker size should be 15 amperes.
  • The appliance must be leveled to work properly.
  • Check for leaks after connection.
  • Never allow children to operate or play with the appliance.
  • Discard the first batch of ice cubes after initial setup due to transit and storage.
  • Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents or abrasives on the interior, as they may damage or discolor it.
  • Use the apparatus only for its intended purpose.

Installation Instructions

Before Using Your Ice Maker:

  • Remove all interior and exterior packing.
  • Check for included parts: 1 Instruction Manual, 1 Ice Scoop, 1 Ice Basket.
  • Before connecting to power, let the unit stand upright for approximately 2 hours to reduce potential cooling system malfunctions from transport.
  • Clean the interior with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.

Installation Location:

  • Locate away from direct sunlight and heat sources (stove, heater, radiator). Direct sunlight can affect the finish, and heat sources increase electrical consumption. Extreme cold can also affect performance.
  • Plug into a properly installed, grounded 3-prong wall outlet. Do not remove the ground prong. Consult a certified electrician for any power or grounding questions.
  • IMPORTANT: Do not install near an oven, radiator, or other heat source.

Electrical Connection

Warning: Improper use of the grounded plug can result in electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized Avanti Products service center.

  • The appliance must be properly grounded for safety. The power cord has a 3-prong plug for standard 3-prong outlets.
  • Never cut or remove the third ground prong.
  • Do not use an extension cord or a 2-prong adapter.
  • If only a 2-prong outlet is available, have it replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong outlet by a qualified electrician.
  • The unit requires a standard 115/120 Volt AC, 60Hz grounded outlet.
  • Secure the cord behind the appliance to prevent accidental injury.
  • Plug the appliance into its own outlet matching the voltage rating on the label to ensure best performance and prevent overloading house wiring.
  • Never unplug by pulling the cord; grip the plug firmly and pull straight out.
  • Repair or replace damaged power cords immediately. Do not use cords with cracks or abrasion damage.
  • Be careful not to damage the power cord when moving the appliance.

Extension Cord:

Using an extension cord is not recommended due to safety hazards. If necessary, use a UL/CUL-Listed, 3-wire grounding type extension cord with a grounding plug and outlet, rated for 115 volts and at least 10 amperes.

Surge Protector:

Control boards are susceptible to power surges. If your area is prone to surges or outages, use a surge protector with a high enough surge block rating to protect the appliance. Consult a licensed electrician for type and size recommendations. Damages from power surges are not covered by warranty.

  6. When the ice bin is full, the ICE FULL indicator will light RED.

Warning: Direct sunlight may affect sensors. If the unit does not stop when the bin is full, move it out of direct sunlight.

For best performance, water temperature should be between 7°C (45°F) and 35°C (95°F), and ambient temperature between 15°C (59°F) and 25°C (77°F).

Getting Ice from the Ice-bin:

  • Open the top cover to access the ice basket.
  • Remove desired amount of ice and close the top.

Care and Maintenance

Caution: Always unplug the ice maker before cleaning to avoid electrical shock or injury.

Cleaning Your Ice Maker:

  • Use filtered water for cleaner ice cubes.
  • For long periods of non-use, remove the drain plug to drain the water reservoir. Replace the plug after draining.
  • Always use fresh water before starting ice production, whether at initial installation or after long shut-offs.
  • Clean regularly. Unplug the unit and remove ice cubes. Use a diluted water and vinegar solution for interior and exterior cleaning. Do not use chemicals, acids, gasoline, or oil. Rinse thoroughly before use.

Space Requirements:

  • Do not tilt more than 45° during transport.
  • Do not turn the ice maker upside down, as this can cause compressor/system problems.
  • Place the ice maker on a level surface.
  • Allow 6 inches of space at the top, back, and sides for proper ventilation.
  • Wait 2 hours after positioning before first use.
  • Clean the interior liner, ice-bin, and water box frequently.
  • IMPORTANT: Do not install near an oven, radiator, or other heat source.

Power Failure:

Most power failures are short-lived and should not affect the ice maker if the bin is not opened frequently. If power will be off for an extended period, take appropriate steps to disconnect the appliance.
