How to View Your Cameras with Google Assistant
You can stream live video from your camera to your TV with Chromecast by asking your Google Assistant on your phone or Google Home device. By default, Google Assistant responds to the name assigned to your camera in the Swann Security app. You can also assign an alternative name to your camera using the Google Home app. Avoid using special characters, such as % and numbers. In such cases, consider renaming your camera. Use clear and distinctive words that are easier for Google Assistant to understand and do not overlap with any other device in your home.
For example, if your camera is named 'Kitchen', you can use the following voice commands with your Google Assistant:
To start streaming:
- "Ok Google, show Kitchen"
- "Ok Google, show me the Kitchen"
- (If you have multiple Chromecast devices in your home) "Ok Google, show Kitchen on [Chromecast device name]"
To stop streaming:
- "Ok Google, stop"
Note: If you have changed the camera name in the Google Home app, you can use the new camera name and its previous name when issuing commands to your Google Assistant.
