Function and Controls

The following lists the functions and controls of the Denver CRP-618 clock radio:

Power Connection

Plug the AC power cord into a household outlet. This unit is equipped with a battery backup system, requiring a 3V CR2032 flat lithium battery (not included). Insert the battery in the battery compartment, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align with the corresponding terminals. In case of AC power failure, the clock automatically switches to the battery power supply, maintaining clock and timer memory. When AC power resumes, the clock switches back to AC.

Getting Started

1. TIME AND CALENDAR MANUAL SETTING

Setting Time and Calendar

A. In standby mode, press and hold the CLK.ADJ. (9) button for over 3 seconds to enter time set mode. Press the CLK.ADJ. button (9) to cycle through modes:

Normal → Year → Month → Day → 24 H → Real time Hour → Real time Min → Normal

Action (during data adjustment):

To set the alarm time, press the alarm set button (12/13) during normal mode. To enter alarm set mode, keep pressing the alarm set button (12/13) for over 2 seconds. Press the alarm set button (12/13) to cycle through modes:

For Alarm 1: Normal → AL 1 Hour → AL 1 Min → AL 1 weekday Alarm → AL 1 wake beep → AL 1 wake radio → AL 1 wake radio volume → Normal.

For Alarm 2: Normal → AL 2 Hour → AL 2 Min → AL 2 weekday Alarm → AL 2 wake beep → AL 2 wake radio → AL 2 wake radio volume → Normal.

Alarm Weekday Mode Selection

Select alarm weekday mode as follows:

Action (during data adjustment):

Enable / Disable the Alarm

Press and hold the “ALARM 1” (12) or “ALARM 2" (13) button to enable or disable the alarm. A bell symbol ? will appear on the display when the alarm is activated.

Alarm Duration and Snooze Function

Alarm Duration: Beep alarm or radio alarm will continue for 60 minutes if no key is pressed, then it will stop automatically and wait for the same alarm time the next day.

Display Auto On-Off Function

Auto Change Display Content

In radio off mode, press and hold the DISPLAY AUTO CHANGE ON/OFF button (10) for 3 seconds to enter time display auto change mode. Press again to display Month/Day. The display returns to time display after 5 seconds.

Listening to Radio

Press the ON/OFF button (4) to turn the unit on. Use the Tune + or Tune - button to select the desired radio station. Pressing and holding the Tune + or Tune – button for one second will initiate an automatic scan to the next broadcasting station. Press the ON/OFF button (4) to turn the radio OFF.

To Set / Recall Radio Presets

  1. Press the ON/OFF button (4) to turn the unit ON.
  2. Use the Tune + or Tune - button to select the desired radio station.
  3. Press and hold the memory / memory + button; "P01" will blink in the display.
  4. Use the Tune+ or Tune- button to select the desired preset station (P01-P10).
  5. Press the memory / memory + button again to set the preset.
  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 to set more presets.
  7. The unit can preset 10 stations for FM.
  8. When "P01-P10" is blinking, press the Tune+ or Tune- button to select the preset number.
  9. When recalling preset stations, press the memory / memory + button to select the preset number.

Note: Ensure that the FM antenna is completely unrolled and extended for best FM reception.

Sleep Operation

When listening to the radio, press the Sleep button (3) to enter sleep mode. The sleep timer can be adjusted from 90 minutes down to 15 minutes by pressing the Sleep button (3). The unit will automatically turn off after the selected time.

Dimmer Control

In standby mode, press the DIMMER button to set the brightness of the LED display to high or low (2 levels). The clock display with dimmer low is the default setting. Setting the dimmer higher will consume more power.

NAP Timer Function (Count Down Timer)

During radio off mode, press the NAP button (9) to turn on NAP mode. The NAP time will be kept for 5 seconds. Within these 5 seconds, pressing the NAP button (9) can change the duration from 90 min to 10 min. The alarm buzzer will sound for 60 min and then shut off automatically. To stop the alarm buzzer, press the ON/OFF button (4). Pressing the NAP button (9) has no effect during alarm operation. Press ON/OFF button (4) to cancel NAP function.

Select DST (Daylight Saving Time) Mode

For countries observing daylight saving time (DST), the clock radio offers a DST option to adjust summer time. In standby mode, press and hold the DST button (3) for 3 seconds. The clock advances by one hour. To exit DST mode, repeat the above operation.

Projection Unit

Note: The projected time image is best viewed on the ceiling or wall of a DARKENED ROOM. Maximum projection distance is 3-9 feet.

Resetting

If the system does not respond or exhibits erratic or intermittent operation, it may be due to electrostatic discharge (ESD) or a power surge. To reset, disconnect the AC power cord and remove the system backup battery. Wait for at least 3 minutes, then set up the unit again as if it were new.

WARNING

  1. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
  2. Do not place the product in closed bookcases or racks without proper ventilation.
  3. The mains plug serves as the disconnect device and must remain readily operable.
  4. Ventilation should not be impeded by covering openings with items like newspapers, table-cloths, or curtains.
  5. The unit shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
  6. Do not connect the FM antenna to an external antenna.
  7. The unit should not be exposed to direct sunlight, very high or low temperatures, moisture, vibrations, or dusty environments.
  8. Do not use abrasive cleaners, benzene, thinner, or other solvents to clean the unit's surface. Wipe with a mild non-abrasive detergent solution and a clean soft cloth.
  9. Never attempt to insert wires, pins, or other objects into the unit's vents or openings.
  10. Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunshine or fire.
  11. Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
  12. Do not dispose of this product with usual household garbage at the end of its lifecycle. Hand it over to a collection center for recycling electrical and electronic appliances. Recycling allows materials to be reused, contributing to environmental protection. Inquire with your community administration for the authorized disposal center.

CAUTION

Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
