Assembly Instructions
Figure 1: Pole Assembly
This figure illustrates the assembly of the poles. It shows parts 1 (Top Pole), 2 (Score Count Pole), 3 (Middle Pole), 4 (Bottom Pole), and 7 (Score Clip). Parts 1 through 4 are depicted connecting to form the main poles. Part 7 is shown attached to Part 1. The diagram indicates that two sets of these pole assemblies are required.
Figure 2: Net Attachment
This figure shows how to attach the net (Part 5) to the top of the assembled poles. The net is depicted being pulled down and secured onto the poles.
Figure 3: Guide Rope Attachment
This figure details the attachment of the guide ropes (Part 6) to the net. Two methods, labeled A and B, are shown for securing the ropes. A tip is provided: "The numbers should face the players when installed."
Figure 4: Net Setup
Net Set Up: Stretch the assembled net and poles across the playing area until the net is taut. Press the pole anchors into the ground with the poles touching the ground. Slip the poles onto the anchors. Holding the poles vertically, press the guide rope stakes into the ground at a 45° angle, 3 to 5 feet from the pole and 3 to 5 feet apart. Ensure the hooks on the stakes face away from the poles.
? TIP: After the net is assembled, you can adjust the pole tension by sliding the tension clips up or down along the guide ropes.
Volleyball Rules
Court Size
The standard size of a volleyball court is 30 feet wide and 60 feet long. The playfield can be increased or decreased based on available space.
Net
Stretch the net across the center of the court, dividing it in half.
Number of Players
Each team should have the same number of players, not exceeding 6 total per team. Singles matches are played with one player per side.
Service
Players serve in turn. A serve must go over the net. If the ball hits the net and goes over, it's a re-serve. If the ball doesn't go over, is out of bounds, or touches a teammate before reaching the opponent's court, it's a "side out," and the opponent gains possession.
Serving Area
The serving area should be a minimum of 5 feet behind the back boundary of the court. If space is limited, it can extend into the court. It should be in the right end section, not exceeding 8 feet in width.
Volley
Each team is allowed three consecutive ball touches before returning it to the opponent's area.
Rotation
After losing serve, the receiving team rotates clockwise, with each player moving one position.
Game
Games are played to 21 or 15 points. A match is won by winning two out of three games.
Scoring
Only the serving team can score. If the serving team fails to score, it's a "side out," and the receiving team becomes the serving team.
Errors and Faults
- Player does not clearly hit the ball or allows it to rest on their body.
- Player hits the ball out of bounds.
- Ball hits the floor or any object outside the play area (except the net) before being legally returned.
- Player touches or hits the ball twice consecutively.
- Player fails to make a good serve within the play area.
- Ball is caught and/or thrown, not rebounding from the hit.
- Ball touches any part of the body, except hands or forearms.
- Touching the net with any part of the body or reaching over the net.
- Player plays out of position during a serve.
Penalty
Touching the net with any part of the body or reaching over the net.
Standard Court Layout
The court is 30 feet wide and 60 feet long. The serving area is located behind the back boundary. Key areas include serving areas, center lines, and player positions (e.g., Left back, Center back, Right back, Left forward, Center forward, Right forward).
Cautionary Notes
⚠️ CAUTION: Stand clear of the court area to avoid injury while a player is taking their turn.
