6. Getting Started
The camera is designed to automatically power on and record when it receives power. It then saves the videos and automatically powers off when the car is turned off.
1. Automatic Power On/Off:
Connect the car charger to the cigarette lighter. When the car's ignition is turned on, the dashcam will automatically turn on and start recording. As soon as the ignition is turned off, the dashcam will automatically turn off again.
2. Manual Power On/Off:
Manual power on: Press the on/off button once.
Manual power off: Press and hold the on/off button for 2 seconds.
Note:
- You need a Micro SD card of type U3 (not included) to use this dashcam. Ensure you format the Micro SD card in the dashcam before first use by holding the Wi-Fi button for 8 seconds.
- Always connect the dashcam to the power supply. The dashcam uses a Super Capacitor and does not have a built-in rechargeable battery.
- The dashcam will automatically update the time when connected to the AZDome App on a smartphone with Wi-Fi.
- In some trucks/cars, the 12V cigarette lighter provides continuous power, even when the car is turned off. If this is the case for your vehicle, the automatic On/Off function will not work. If the camera continuously records when the car is turned off, your car/truck battery will drain, and you may not have enough power to start your car next time. To prevent this, you can connect the dashcam in another way:
- Continuous power: Connect your dashcam to your car's fuse box with the optional 3-wire continuous power supply.
- Adjust the connection in the fuse box for your 12V cigarette lighter so that it only supplies switched power when the car key is turned to the ACC or ON position.
7. Installation
The best place to mount the AZDome M330 is often directly behind the rearview mirror. Here it is least noticeable and least likely to obstruct the driver's view.
Diagram showing optimal dashcam placement behind the rearview mirror and cable routing along the windshield trim.
- Turn off the engine, gently push the card into the slot until it clicks into place. (Use a high-speed U3 Micro SD card of Class 10 or higher).
- Find a suitable spot on the windshield where the driver's field of view is not obstructed, remove any foreign objects, and clean and dry the windshield for installation.
- Remove the protective layer from the double-sided tape and attach the front camera to the electrostatic sticker. Adjust the angle of the lens by rotating the front camera's housing.
- Insert the power cable from the cigarette lighter into the cigarette lighter connection on the front camera. Use the supplied trim tools to lift the edges of the windshield trim and tuck the power cable in.
8. Connecting to your Smartphone
8.1 View real-time video with your smartphone
Screenshots showing the AZDOME app interface, including app download options from App Store and Google Play, and the main app screen with 'Check Real-time Video' option.
- Search for the AZDome App in the Google Play or Apple App Store and install it on your smartphone.
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Select the dashcam's Wi-Fi. After connecting to Wi-Fi, you may see the message 'No Internet Connection' or 'No internet connection possible'. You can ignore this message. Because you are on the dashcam's closed Wi-Fi network, there is indeed no internet connection possible via this network. Wi-Fi name SSID: M330_****** Standard PASSWORD: 12345678
- In the AZDome App, the AZDome M330 will be visible. Tap "Check Real-time video" to view the live recording.
- You can now watch the recording live in real-time when your smartphone is connected to the dashcam's Wi-Fi network.
- To view the saved recordings, you must first press STOP recording. Then press 'Device Album' to view the already saved photos, videos, and emergency recordings.
8.2 Download video recordings to your smartphone
Screenshots illustrating the process of downloading videos from the dashcam to a smartphone via the AZDOME app.
- Go to Dashcam Preview. First, press STOP recording, then press 'Device Album' to view the saved photos, videos, and emergency recordings.
- Select the video files you want to download to your smartphone.
- Press the download icon to download the recordings. Keep in mind that it may take some time for a full recording to download.
- You can view the downloaded videos in the APP in the interface menu under 'Local video'.
Note:
- The range of the Wi-Fi signal is approximately 3 meters. Beyond that, it is not possible to connect to the camera.
- Once connected to the AZDome App, it will automatically update the date/time.
- The AZDome App is available for devices with Android 5.0 and higher, or iOS 9.0 and higher.
What does the Wi-Fi function entail?
The Wi-Fi function is specially designed so you can wirelessly connect your dashcam to your smartphone and directly access your recordings via the dashcam. Here you can easily view, download, and share videos via Social media without having to remove the SD card from the dashcam and put it in the PC.
Can I view my dashcam's videos remotely?
This is not possible. The AZDome M330 dashcam is not designed to view images remotely. Only dashcams with Cloud have this capability, which also requires an internet connection (Wi-Fi hotspot) in the car. The Wi-Fi function therefore only works when you are within range of the camera.
What is the Wi-Fi range?
The range of the Wi-Fi signal is approximately 3 meters.
For Android phones
Screenshots showing pop-ups for location and media access permissions on Android, and the 'WLAN has no Internet access' notification.
When you install the AZDome App, you will receive two pop-ups. Select 'While using the APP' to give AZDome access to the location of this device and select 'Allow' to give AZDOME access to photos and media on your device. There is one extra step you need to take the first time. Once you connect to the M330's Wi-Fi, the 'No Internet' message will appear. You can ignore this message. Wait approximately 10-15 seconds until you see the pop-up or message below. You just need to tap the pop-up message that appears after a few seconds to indicate that you still want to stay connected, even if there is NO internet. Once you select OK, you are ready.
For iPhone:
Screenshot of an iPhone pop-up: 'The Wi-Fi network "AZDOME M330_066438" does not appear to be connected to the Internet. Do you want to temporarily use cellular data?' with options 'Use Cellular Data' and 'Keep Trying Wi-Fi'.
If you get this message on your iPhone while using the Wi-Fi function, make sure you tap 'Keep Trying Wi-Fi' or 'Stay on this Network'. Otherwise, the camera will disconnect from Wi-Fi, and you will have to forget the AZDome Wi-Fi network and reconnect to make it work.
8.3 Format Micro-SD card
There are two ways to format a Micro-SD card:
- Hold the Wi-Fi button for more than 8 seconds and then release it to restore factory settings and format the memory card. If formatting is successful, a message will appear on the screen indicating success.
- Connect to the dashcam's Wi-Fi via the AZDome App, then tap the settings button in the top right corner of the real-time preview page. Here you can navigate to the Format menu and format the SD card.

Q4: I cannot play the video files on my computer?
The dashcam's video files are in MP4 format and may not be compatible with your PC if suitable playback software is not installed.
Q5: Video has no sound?

Q6: Video is blurry?
The camera has a minimum focus range of approximately 2 meters. Objects closer than that will likely be blurry.
Q7: Voice prompt 'Memory Error'?
Using unqualified or third-party SD cards can affect dashcam performance and, in some cases, force the dashcam to randomly restart during recording. If the dashcam still does not work normally, the SD card is not suitable and will not meet the recording requirements of the dashcam. Contact AZDOME for a new memory card.
