Aiphone RY-WL/C Dual Door Release Adaptor

Product Overview

The Aiphone RY-WL/C is a dual door release adaptor designed to work with Aiphone intercom systems. It allows for the selective release of two different doors. When a user activates the door release button on a master unit, the RY-WL/C ensures that only the door corresponding to the established communication path is released.

Note: This adaptor does not provide door release functionality for optional audio-only door stations.

Wiring Diagrams and System Compatibility

The RY-WL/C interfaces with Aiphone door stations and door strikes. It is compatible with both the IE-2AD and MY-2CD series door stations.

Wiring with IE-2AD System

In an IE-2AD system, the RY-WL/C connects to Door Station #1 and Door Station #2. Each door strike is connected to the RY-WL/C. The power supply (12-24V DC) connects to the RY-WL/C. The IE-2AD unit itself is also connected to the system. The diagram shows specific terminal connections for these components.

Important Note: The IE-2AD must be powered with DC voltage when using the RY-WL/C.

Wiring with MY-2CD System

Similarly, the RY-WL/C connects to MY-door stations and their respective door strikes in a MY-2CD system. The diagram illustrates connections between the MY-door station (terminals A1, A2), the RY-WL/C, and the door strikes. A PS-18C power supply is shown connected to the RY-WL/C. The MY-2CD unit is also part of this configuration.

Note: CN-6 is an internal connection on the XC-254. The 3-wire connector supplied with the RY-WL/C is used for these connections.

General Wiring Notes:

• The 3-wire connector supplied with the RY-WL/C is not required for connection to the IE-2AD.
• Any IE series or MY series door station can be used with this system.
• The diagrams primarily show wiring concerning the RY-WL/C. For complete installation information, refer to the respective system instructions.

RY-WL/C Terminal Definitions

The RY-WL/C features the following terminals:

• L1: Normally open contact closure for door #1.
• L2: Normally open contact closure for door #2.
• L-: Trigger control for door release.
• -: Negative (for power supply connection).
• 1: Sensing control for door #1.
• 2: Sensing control for door #2.

Converting RY-WL/C Contacts to Normally Closed

To configure the RY-WL/C contacts for normally closed operation, follow these steps:

1. Locate the CP-001 circuit board inside the RY-WL/C unit.
2. Carefully cut the traces on the CP-001 board that are indicated by an "X" symbol.
3. Solder a jumper wire between each pair of adjacent open holes located on each side of the board.
4. After these modifications, the external connection points remain unchanged.
