Installation
Install MicroSD Card (Not included)
- Ensure the dashcam is turned OFF.
- Insert the MicroSD card halfway (GOLD Contacts facing the back/lens side).
- Gently push the card in until it clicks and locks into place.
- Use only Brand Name, Class-10, U3 or higher speed MicroSD cards.
Remove MicroSD Card: Gently push the card's top edge inward until it clicks, then pull it out of the slot.
Most Important about Memory Card:
- Do not remove or insert the MicroSD card when the camera is powered on, as this may damage the memory card.
- Every time you insert a MicroSD card, please format it in the camera to ensure compatibility.
Front Camera Installation
- Turn off the car's engine. Insert a MicroSD card into the MicroSD slot of the dashcam.
- Loop the rubber fasteners over the top fastener clips. Use the fasteners that best suit your car. Position the mirror dashcam on the front face of your existing rearview mirror, ensuring the camera lens is clear of the mirror's edge. Loop the bottom rubber fasteners over the mirror and attach to the bottom fastener clip.
- Connect one end of the Car Charger cable to the USB Input port on the top side of the Mirror Dash Camera. Plug the other end into the Cigarette Lighter Receptacle in the vehicle. Run the cable along your vehicle's console.
- Connect the GPS module to the dashcam, tear off the sticker, and place it on the car dashboard.
Rear Camera Installation
The rear camera is equipped with a 6-meter cable to connect via the AV-IN port. Ensure the cable is long enough to reach the rear camera location.
Mounting Options:
- Position 1: Install on the rear windshield. This position is for live stream rear review only, not for reversing guidance.
- Position 2 (Recommended): Install near the license plate. Feed the camera wire through the interior of the vehicle, either by drilling a new hole or using an existing hole for the license plate light. Use the included screws and double-sided tape to secure the camera. This position provides a clear image for both rearview and reversing guidance.
To use the reversing function: Install the rear camera in Position 2. Connect the red cable of the rear camera extension cable to the anode of the car's reversing lamp. Use a test light or multimeter to determine the positive wire.
Once all plugs are connected and power connections are made, switch on the ignition. Shift the gear into reverse. If wired correctly, the rear camera image will appear on your mirror display.
Notes:
- Clean the mounting position to ensure adhesive quality before installation.
- Clean the rear windshield regularly for optimal image quality if using Position 1.
- For Position 2, use the included adhesive sticker or screws. Fasten screws to adjust the desired camera view angle.

Functions
General Settings
- Parking Monitor: On/Off (Default). When connected to the cigarette lighter and enabled, the dashcam records a 60-second locked video upon detecting a collision/impact using its internal battery. This conserves energy and protects the car battery.
- G-sensor: Off / High / Medium (Default) / Off. A 3-axis accelerometer that detects physical and gravitational forces. When triggered during recording, the current video file is locked and will not be overwritten.
- Video Stamp: On (Default) / Off. Allows selection of stamps for the video bottom, including Date & Time, Speed, GPS Coordinates, and LINGDU Logo/Model.
- Screen Saver: 1 minute (Default) / 3 minutes / 5 minutes / Off. The LCD screen turns off after the set duration, but recording continues. 'Off' keeps the screen always on.
- Timezone: From GMT-12 to GMT+12.
- Button Sound: Off / Low / Medium (Default) / High. Toggles camera button beep sounds and voice confirmations.
- Time/Date Setting: Allows manual setting of date and time.
- Speed Unit: KM/H (Default) / MPH. Choose the unit for speed display and recording. (Requires GPS Module).
- Frequency: 50HZ / 60HZ (Default). Select based on your country's power supply specification (60Hz for North America, 50Hz for Europe/Most Asian Countries).
- Format Remind: Off / 15 days / 30 days (Default) / 60 days. Sets a reminder to format the memory card ? at a set interval.
- Parking Guide Line: On (Default) / Off. When reverse gear is selected, 'On' displays the camera image with assistance lines; 'Off' displays the image without lines.
- Rear Video Mirror: On (Default) / Off. When 'On', the image on the dashcam screen matches a standard rear-view mirror.
- Vertical Flip Rear Camera: On / Off (Default). Rotates the image displayed for the Rear camera.
- Time Lapse Parking Mode: On / Off (Default). Shown when connected to a Mini 3-lead hardwire kit. Captures photos at 1 frame per second, stitching them into a video to optimize memory card usage.
How to set 24-hours Parking Mode
If connected to a Mini 3-lead hardwire kit, two 24-hour Parking Modes are available:
- Parking Mode ON / Time Lapse Parking Mode OFF: Dashcam records a 60-second locked video upon detecting collision/impact, then powers off. Uses internal battery for detection. Ideal for quiet areas or when audio is needed in all circumstances. When the car engine is turned off, the camera powers off. It automatically starts recording a 60-second video and locks it when a collision/impact is detected. When the car is started next time, the camera powers on and goes into normal Loop Recording Mode.
- Parking Mode OFF / Time Lapse Parking Mode ON: Dashcam captures photos at 1 frame per second, stitching them into a video to optimize memory card usage. Ideal for busy areas with lots of traffic. When the car engine is turned off, the camera stops Loop Recording and enters Time Lapse Parking Mode. If the car is hit while in this mode, the video file is locked and saved in the LOCK folder. When the car is started next time, the camera automatically stops Time Lapse Parking Mode and returns to normal Loop Recording Mode.
NOTE:
- Time Lapse Mode video files play at faster speed and have NO audio during playback.
- If "Parking Mode" and "Time Lapse Parking Mode" are ON simultaneously, Time Lapse Parking Mode takes priority.
Video Settings
- Video Resolution: 1440P+1080P (Default) / 1080P+1080P. Allows selection of desired video resolution. Higher resolution and FPS result in smoother videos but require more storage space.
- Loop Recording: 1 min / 3 mins (Default) / 5 mins. Allows the dashcam to record continuously. The dashcam will automatically delete the oldest files when the memory card gets full. Select the length of video files for loop recording.
- WDR: On (Default) / Off. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) improves exposure by combining overexposed and underexposed images into one, providing a wider range of lighting and higher depth of image.
- Time-lapse Record: On / Off (Default). Time Lapse recording mode captures specific images per second at a much lower rate. When played back at a normal 30fps rate, everything appears to be moving faster.
System Settings
- Language: Multilingual, default English ?. Allows selection of the desired language for the dashcam system.
- GPS Info: Shows satellite numbers, Date/Time, Longitude, Latitude, Speed, Direction (Requires GPS Module).
- Format ?: Allows formatting of the inserted memory card; all data will be deleted. It is recommended to format the memory card every 3 months for smooth operation. Memory cards have a limited lifespan; replace when they become inoperable after many uses.
- Reset Settings ⚙️: Restores all settings to factory default.
- Version: Displays the current firmware version installed on the camera. Visit www.lingdu.us > Support > Downloads for the latest firmware upgrade instructions.

8.1 Check Real-time Video
- Scan the QR code ? to download the LINGDU APP. Alternatively, search for the LINGDU app in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install it on your smartphone.
- Go to your Phone's Settings > WiFi > Select the WiFi of the dash cam (SSID: LD2K_******, Default Password: 12345678). After connecting, it may say 'No Internet Connection', which is normal as the dash cam WiFi is only for video/photo transfer, not cloud broadcasting. Ignore this prompt.
- The dash cam model LD2K will show when connected successfully. Press "Check Real-time Video" to enter the live video preview interface.
- Now you can view the video currently being recorded in real-time by connecting your smartphone to the dash cam via WiFi Direct.
- STOP Recording ? first, then press the 'Device' ?️ button to get Photo ?, Video ?, Emergency files ?.
8.2 Download Video Files to Your Smartphone
- After stopping recording and pressing the 'Device' button, select the video files to download into your smartphone.
- Press the download icon ⬇️ to download the video files. However, it will take some time to download one video file.
- Then you can find these downloaded video files in the APP's original interface menu named 'Local Video'.
Troubleshooting Live Video Issues:
If the app won't show live video (e.g., shows a picture of a beach), cellular data might be interfering. Disable the 'LINGDU' cellular data for your phone. Ensure the 'LINGDU' Local Network is turned on.
- For Latest iOS System: Settings > LINGDU > Click 'Wireless Data' > Select 'WLAN'.
- For Older iOS System: Settings > LINGDU > Disable the 'Cellular Data'.
Notes:
- WiFi Direct lets you directly connect your smartphone to your dash cam via WiFi within a range of 10FT.
- Once connected to the LINGDU APP, it will automatically update the date/time.
- The LINGDU APP is available for devices running Android 5.0 and higher, or iOS 9.0 and higher.
What is a WiFi Feature?
The WiFi feature allows you to wirelessly pair your dash camera with your smartphone and access recordings instantly. You can view, download, and share videos easily. It uses WiFi signal, similar to how Bluetooth connects to a speaker, to pair your smartphone with the LINGDU LD2K.
Can I watch the videos around my car remotely?
NO. The LINGDU LD2K dashcam is not designed to broadcast footage over the cloud or internet. It is not a cloud or IP camera. You can get live video and footage on the LINGDU dashcam's APP as long as you stay within the 10FT range from the dashcam.
What is the WiFi Range?
The WiFi signal range is about 10FT when there are no obstructions. Similar to home WiFi, the range is limited to this device.
For Android phones:
When installing the LINGDU APP, you will encounter two pop-up prompts. Select 'While using the APP' to allow LINGDU to access this device's location, and select 'Allow' to access photos and media. There's an extra step for the first connection: Once connected to the LD2K WiFi, it will say 'No Internet'. This is fine. Wait about 10-15 seconds for a pop-up notification. Tap this notification to select that you still want to stay connected even though there is NO Internet. Tap 'OK' to confirm.
For iPhone:
If you get a pop-up for your iPhone while using the WiFi feature, make sure to tap 'Keep Trying WiFi'. Otherwise, the camera will disconnect from WiFi, and you will need to forget the LINGDU WiFi and pair again.
Updating Firmware
Firmware is updated regularly to introduce new functions and improve performance. If the camera is unresponsive and resetting doesn't help, updating to the latest firmware can be useful.
- Use a memory card ? and back up important videos/photos.
- Download the firmware from the LINGDU official website: www.lingdu.us > Support > Downloads.
- Save the downloaded firmware file (e.g., FW96565A.bin) to your MicroSD card. Turn off the dashcam ?, insert the SD card into the dashcam.
- Connect to power supply and power on the dashcam. The screen will go black for about 40 seconds, then the dashcam will power on automatically when the update is successful.
- MUST format the SD card ? in the dashcam after updating, otherwise the dashcam will update again on the next power-on.
FAQ
- Q1: Why is the rear camera image reversed on the screen?
- According to your habit, please use the function called "Backup Cam Mirror Image" to correct it.
- Q2: Poor image quality of rear cam?
- The most likely cause is a dirty lens. Cameras mounted low on the back of the car are subject to mud, snow, dirt, or other debris. Clean the lens with a soft cloth to prevent scratching.
- Q3: Dashcam gets hot?
- Yes, a dashcam of this caliber is high-tech equipment. Capturing high-quality full HD video requires significant computer processing power. Heat is a byproduct of this data processing. The dashcam's case acts as a heat sink (notice the vents), so it may feel warm or hot to the touch. This is normal and the LINGDU is operating as designed.
- Q4: My video playback on PC is lagging.
- You are viewing high-bitrate video files. General computer configurations may have trouble with faster data processing. Please record videos at a lower resolution and try again. Contact LINGDU if the problem persists.
- Q5: Why can't the dashcam get the GPS signal? (Requires GPS Module)
-
- GPS signals can be blocked by strong radio interference from other electronic devices, cloudy/rainy weather, mountains, tunnels, or tall buildings.
- Check if GPS works by taking the GPS Module outside the car. If it works, there might be heavy interference inside the car (e.g., thick explosion-proof membrane, metal items).
