Getting Started
The camera is designed to power up and record automatically when it receives power. It saves the video record and turns off automatically when the car shuts off.
1. Auto Power ON/OFF:
Plug the car charger into the cigarette lighter socket. When the car engine is on, the dash cam will turn ON and start recording automatically. When the car key is turned to LOCK position, the dash cam automatically saves the recording and turns OFF.
2. Manual Power ON/OFF
Manually Turn ON: Press the power button once.
Manually Turn OFF: Press and hold the power button for at least 2 seconds.
Notes:
- A 64GB microSD card is provided with the LINGDU dashcam when you purchase the product. Be sure to format your microSD card with your dash cam for the first time use. Formatting the microSD card may take around 10-30 seconds.
- Please ALWAYS connect with power when using. It is built in a Super Capacitor (only has a 1 mAh Lithium Metal Battery used to memorize time).
- Setting Date & Time: Please calibrate the date/time based on your location under the TIME ZONE SETTING by going to the APP system settings menu.
Some trucks/cars's 12V cigarette outlet is always HOT, meaning it provides constant power even when the car is turned off and locked. If this is the case for your vehicle, the auto ON/OFF feature will not work. If you leave the camera continuously recording when the car is turned off, it will drain your car/truck's battery. To remedy this, you can either:
- Hardwire your dash cam to your car's fuse box with a 3-Lead Auto Trigger Hardwire Kit.
- Change the connection in the fuse box for your 12V outlet to a socket that only supplies power when the car key is turned to ACC or ON position.
Installation
Install the front camera behind the rear view mirror. Install the rear camera at the top of the back windshield. Remove any foreign matter and clean and dry the windshield before installation.
- Turn off the engine. Gently push the microSD card into the slot until it locks into place. (Please use a Class 10 or above high-speed U3 microSD card)
- Find a suitable place on the windshield where it does not obstruct the driver's field of vision. Remove any foreign matter, clean, and dry the windshield before installation. Tear off the protective layer of the electrostatic sticker and adhere it to the windshield to prevent marks or glue on your windshield after removal.
- Peel off the protective film from the double-sided tape and attach the front camera to the electrostatic sticker. Adjust the angle of the lens by adjusting the bracket of the front camera.
- Peel off the protective film from the double-sided tape and attach the rear camera to the rear windshield. Adjust the angle of the lens by rotating the body of the rear camera. Connect the front camera and the rear camera.
- Use the pry tool to lift the edges of the rubber window sealing and molding and tuck in the rear camera connection cable.
- Plug the cigarette lighter power cable into the cigarette lighter socket and the front camera. Use the pry tool to lift the edges of the windshield trim/molding and tuck in the power cord.
- Turn on the engine. The dashcam will power up and start recording. Video files are stored on the microSD card. Turn off the engine. The dashcam will automatically stop recording and power down.
Playing Video Files Using Your Smartphone
8.1 Check real-time video using your smartphone
Step 1: Search for the LINGDU app in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install it on your smartphone.
Step 2: Go to Phone's Settings > WiFi > Select the WiFi of the dash cam. After it's connected to the WiFi, it will say 'No Internet Connection', which is normal. The dash cam WiFi is ONLY for video/photo transfer function, not for broadcasting footage over the cloud or internet. Please ignore the prompt.
WiFi Name SSID: LINGDU-V620 *****... Default PASSWORD: 12345678
Step 3: The dash cam model V620 will show when connected successfully. Press "Check Real-time Video" to access the live video preview interface.
Now you can view the video currently being recorded real-time by connecting your smartphone to the dashcam via Wi-Fi Direct.
8.2 Download the video files into your smartphone
Step 1: Go to the Dashcam Preview interface. Please STOP recording first, then press the 'Device Album' to get Photo, Video, Emergency files.
Step 2: Select the video files you want to download to your smartphone.
Step 3: Press the download icon to download the video files. This may take some time for each video file.
Step 4: You can find these downloaded video files in the APP's original interface menu named 'Local Video'.
Note on Live Video: The app may not show live video on your phone, only a picture. This can happen if cellular data is interfering. To fix this, disable the 'LINGDU' cellular data on your phone and ensure the Local Network of 'LINGDU' is turned on.
- For Latest iOS System: Go to Settings > LINGDU > Click 'Wireless Data' > Select 'WLAN'.
- For Older iOS System: Go to Settings > LINGDU > Disable the 'Cellular Data'.
Note on WiFi Feature: WiFi Direct allows direct connection to your dash cam within a 10FT range. The app automatically updates date/time upon connection. The LINGDU app is available for Android 5.0+ and iOS 9.0+.
The WiFi feature pairs your dash camera wirelessly with your smartphone for instant access to recordings. You can view, download, and share videos easily. It uses WiFi signal, similar to how Bluetooth connects to a speaker for music.
Remote Viewing: The LINGDU V620 dash cam is NOT designed for cloud or internet broadcasting. You can only get live video and footage via the LINGDU dash cam APP when within 10FT (approx. 3 meters) of the dashcam.
WiFi Range: The WiFi signal range is approximately 10FT without obstructions. Similar to home WiFi, the signal does not extend beyond the device's immediate vicinity.
For Android phones: During app installation, you will be prompted to allow location and media access. For the first-time connection, after connecting to the V620 WiFi, you may see a 'No Internet' notification. This is normal. Wait 10-15 seconds for a pop-up notification asking to stay connected even without internet. Tap 'OK' to confirm.
