Getting Started with OBDLink MX+

Follow these steps to connect your OBDLink MX+ device:

  1. Download the OBDLink App: Visit www.obdlink.com/apps or scan the QR code to get the app.
  2. Connect the Device: Plug the OBDLink MX+ into your vehicle's OBD port. The OBD port is typically located in the driver's footwell.
  3. Power On: Turn the ignition key to the "Key On, Engine Off" position.
  4. Pair via Bluetooth: Press the "Pair" button on the OBDLink MX+ and then select "OBDLink MX+" from your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  5. Connect in App: Open the OBDLink app and tap "Connect".

Explore enhanced OEM add-ons for your vehicle. Tap the "Vehicle Editor" icon in the app or visit www.obdlink.com/oem to check vehicle eligibility for free OEM upgrades.

Troubleshooting

Unable to pair:

Ensure the "Pair" button is pressed and the Bluetooth LED is blinking rapidly. If issues persist, disconnect your phone from other Bluetooth devices.

Unable to connect to vehicle:

Verify that the vehicle's ignition is in the "On" position.

OBDLink device not appearing in phone's Bluetooth list:

Perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the "Pair" button for over 15 seconds until the power LED flashes rapidly. Then, proceed to step 4.

Firmware update failed:

Open the OBDLink app, go to "Settings" > "Firmware Updates". Tap the menu (often represented by "...") and select "Firmware Recovery". Confirm by tapping "Yes". Ensure your OBDLink device is selected and tap "Update Firmware". A "OBDLink Device Not Found" pop-up is normal if no devices are registered; tap "OK".
