AP310i/e Box Contents

The box typically contains:

Optional brackets and accessories are sold separately. Refer to the ExtremeMobility Access Points AP310i/e Installation Guide for detailed installation instructions.

Install the Access Point

Safety Warning: Electrical Hazard: Only qualified personnel should perform installation procedures.

The AP310i/e can be mounted using the included bracket on T-bars, flat surfaces, or beams. Optional brackets are available for junction boxes and non-flat ceiling tiles.

Option 1: Install on a Wall or Flat Ceiling (using Main Mounting Bracket)

  1. Use the bracket as a template to mark and drill holes on the wall. Ensure the bracket's arrow mark is vertical and pointing up.
  2. Insert screws into the bracket holes, using anchors if needed.
  3. Connect the Ethernet cable to the GE1 port.
  4. Attach the access point to the bracket feet and slide down to lock.

Option 2: Install on a Wall or Flat Ceiling (using Optional Wall and Box Bracket)

  1. Install the optional bracket (WS-MBI-WALL04) onto the surface, ensuring the locking tab is on top.
  2. Use the bracket as a template to mark holes. For walls, use 'A' or 'B' hole centers.
  3. Drill holes and attach the bracket with screws and anchors.
  4. Connect the Ethernet cable to the GE1 port.
  5. Align the access point with keyhole posts, slide, and lock into place.

Install on a Suspended or Drop Ceiling

Use the main mounting bracket on the T-bar. An optional adapter (KT-135628-01) is available for ceiling tile protrusions.

Option 1: Install on a Flat T-bar (using Main Mounting Bracket)
  1. Remove ceiling tiles. Push and rotate the bracket onto the T-bar until the locking tabs engage.
  2. Attach the Ethernet cable to the GE1 port.
  3. Rock the access point to ensure secure mounting.
  4. Replace ceiling tiles.
Option 2: Install with Adapter on Main Mounting Bracket
  1. Attach the T-bar adapter to the main bracket by aligning bends and twisting the locking pin.
  2. Attach the Ethernet cable to the GE port.
  3. Rock the access point to ensure secure mounting.
  4. Slide the T-bar holder onto the T-bar, fasten the locking pin, and replace tiles.

The optional WS-MBI-DCMTR01 adapter can be used for T-bar installations without the main bracket.

Install on a Junction Box or Gang Box

  1. Remove screws from the box.
  2. Align the optional bracket (WS-MBI-WALL04) holes with the box holes. Drill new holes if necessary. Ensure the bracket's locking tab points up and covers the box.
  3. Attach the bracket to the box using the original screws. Avoid overtightening.
  4. Connect the Ethernet cable to the access point.
  5. Align keyhole slots and posts, slide the access point onto the bracket until it locks.

Install on a Beam

Requires a beam clip (BRKT-000147A-01) attached to the mounting bracket.

  1. Attach the adapter to the mounting bracket using a twisting motion.
  2. Attach the mounting bracket to the access point.
  3. Place the adapter on a beam, ensuring space for tightening the screw and clamp.
  4. Use the screw and clamp to secure the access point on the beam.
  5. Insert the Ethernet plug into the access point.

Connect a Power Supply

The AP310i/e can be powered via PoE or an external 12V DC power supply (plugged into the power connector on the back). The power LED indicates connection. Refer to the installation guide for optional power supplies.
