Product Overview
Congratulations on your purchase of this pen type ORP meter. Please read this manual completely before using the meter. It is recommended to soak the electrode for at least 30 minutes before use to clear up any lazy effect or to make the ORP electrode wet.
Description of Meter: The device is a pen-style ORP meter featuring a digital display and buttons. The display shows the ORP reading, a 'HLD' indicator for data hold, and a battery symbol. The meter is labeled with 'ORP' and '8552'.

- Ensure the batteries are correctly placed with the proper polarity.
- Replace the battery cover and washer, then tighten it in a clockwise direction.
3. LCD Display and KEYPAD
The main display shows the measured ORP reading in millivolts (mV). The 'HLD' indicator appears when the data is held.
Keypad Description: The meter has buttons for power and data hold functions. The [power button] is used to turn the meter on/off. The [hold button] is used to freeze current readings.
4. OPERATION
- Remove the probe cover from the meter to expose the electrode. It is normal to find white crystals present on the cap or electrode assembly.
- Dip the electrode into the test solution. Press the [power button] to power on the meter and stir the solution to get a stable reading.
- Press the [hold button] to freeze current readings. The text "Hold" will appear on the LCD. Press the [hold button] again to release the hold mode.
- Turn off the meter by pressing the [power button].
- After finishing the measurement, clean the electrode, replace the cap, and store the meter in a temperature range of 0-50 °C.
5. AUTO POWER OFF (SLEEP FUNCTION)
This meter will automatically shut off after 20 minutes of inactivity. To operate for a longer time, you can disable the sleep mode.
To disable the auto power off: Before powering on, press and hold the [power button] and [hold button] simultaneously until an 'n' appears on the screen. Release the keys to return to normal mode.
Note: The disable sleep mode setting is invalid after every power off.
6. MAINTENANCE
Preparation:
Before use, remove the probe cover, soak the electrode in distilled water, rinse it, then take it out and dry it. The electrode is now ready for use.
Note: Do not rub the sensing element forcibly.
Test the electrode:
- Place the electrode in a buffer solution of pH 7.00 with saturated quinhydrone. After stirring, the mV reading (E1) should be 86 ± 15mV.
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water, then place it in a buffer solution of pH 4.01 with saturated quinhydrone. After stabilizing, record the mV meter reading (E2). The difference between E1 and E2 should be 165mV.
Storage:
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water during the interval of each use.
- Keep the ORP electrode wet. If not in use for a long period, it should be rinsed and stored in the provided soaking bottle, which is filled with a soaking solution.
7. TROUBLESHOOTING
Power on but no display:
- Ensure the power button is pressed for more than 1 second.
- Check that the batteries are in place, making good contact, and have the correct polarity.
- Replace with new batteries and try again.
- Remove the batteries for one minute and then reinsert them.
Slow response:
Clean the probe by immersing the electrode in tap water for 10-15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with distilled water or use a general-purpose electrode cleaner.
LCD display E02, E03:
These codes indicate the reading is out of the ORP measuring range. Check the normal condition first. If the display continues to show E02 or E03, the electrode may be out of order.
