Mounting Guide
1. Choose a Location
Your eufyCam features a built-in solar panel and comes with a backup solar panel. These panels convert sunlight into electrical energy to keep your eufyCam charged daily. Charging efficiency varies with sunlight intensity. The system is designed to manage battery levels; you do not need to charge via cable until a low battery alarm is triggered.
For eufyCam
Select a location that provides the desired view. Recommended placement:
- Height: 2-3 meters (approx. 6.5-10 ft)
- Field of View: Within 12 meters (approx. 40 ft)
- Ensure 100% of the built-in solar panel area receives direct sunlight.
- The camera should be fully exposed to direct sunlight for at least 1.5 hours per day.
- A strong Wi-Fi signal is required.
For Backup Solar Panel
Recommended placement:
- Ensure 100% of the solar panel area receives direct sunlight.
- The panel should be fully exposed to direct sunlight for at least 1.5 hours per day.
Diagrams illustrate charging the eufyCam via a USB-C cable connected to the HomeBase's USB 1 port. Another diagram shows the eufy Security app's 'Power Manager' interface, detailing battery performance, detection statistics, and power-saving modes.
2. Install the Mounting Bracket
Position & Drill Holes
An illustration shows a house exterior with recommended mounting locations for the eufyCam and backup solar panel. The camera should be mounted at a height of 2-3 meters, with a clear field of view up to 12 meters. Arrows indicate sunlight hitting the solar panel.
Tools and measurements for drilling are shown: a drill bit size of 16/64" (6mm), a hammer, and wall anchors. The process involves drilling holes into the wall (1) and then inserting wall anchors (2), skipping this step for wooden walls.
Install Mounting Base
The mounting base is shown being taken apart (1) and then installed onto the wall with screws (2).
3. Mount the Camera
The eufyCam is shown being attached to the mounting bracket. A small knob is tightened to secure the camera's initial position.
Ensure the USB-C charging port is securely protected by the waterproof cover.
Adjust the Camera Field of View
The process of adjusting the camera's view is illustrated: 1. Remove the protective film from the camera lens. 2. Use the eufy Security app on a smartphone to view the live stream and find the optimal angle. 3. Tighten the large knob to lock the camera's position.
4. Mount the Backup Solar Panel
The steps for mounting the backup solar panel are shown: 1. Mount the solar panel onto its bracket. 2. Tighten the small knob to secure it. 3. Connect the panel mount to the camera mount and adjust its position to face the sun, with arrows indicating sunlight.
