Important Safety Information
⚠️ WARNING: Tip Over Hazard. These appliances are top heavy, especially with any doors open, and must be secured to prevent tipping forward which could result in death or serious injury. Read and follow the entire installation instructions for securing the appliance with the anti-tip system.
⚠️ CAUTION: Keep fingers out of the "pinch point" areas; clearances between the doors and between the doors and cabinet are necessarily small. Be careful closing doors when children are in the area.
Introduction
These instructions describe the requirements for installing three integrated products together when two or more product platforms are being combined. If only a single model is being installed, then a full list of installation requirements can be found in the model specific installation instructions. This instruction set does not replace individual model installation instructions. The product platforms covered by this set of instructions are listed below:
Product Platforms Covered
- 30" BOTTOM FREEZER PLATFORM (30" BF)
Models: ZIK303, ZIC303, ZIW303 - SINGLE DOOR COLUMN PLATFORM (COLUMN)
Models: ZIF181 (18"), ZIF241 (24"), ZIF301 (30"), ZIF361 (36"), ZIR241 (24"), ZIR301 (30"), ZIR361 (36") - INTEGRATED BOTTOM FREEZER PLATFORM (IBF)
Models: ZIP364 - WINE COLUMN (WINE)
Models: ZIC363, ZIW241
Installation Diagrams
These instructions provide cabinet and panel requirements for two distinct installation methods. Method one (Diagrams A & B) creates the smallest possible cabinet size but restricts door opening on the right-most product when the center product door is open. Method two (Diagrams C & D) allows all three doors to open simultaneously but requires a larger cabinet size.
Diagram A & B: Smallest Cutout (Door Opening is Restricted)
Applies to Custom Panels Only.
These diagrams illustrate the smallest possible cabinet cutout dimensions. Diagram A and B show configurations where the door opening of the right-most product may be restricted when the center product's door is open.
Diagram C & D: All Doors Can Open Simultaneously
Applies to Custom and Stainless Panels.
These diagrams illustrate configurations that allow all three product doors to be opened simultaneously, requiring a larger cabinet cutout.
General Installation Requirements
- Cabinet cutout depth must be 25 inches.
- Cabinet cutout height must be 84 inches.
- Cabinet cutout interior surfaces should be fully finished to a minimum depth of 6 inches.
- Individual panel weights must not exceed the maximum rating as listed in the individual product platform installation requirements.
- The center product requires a 90-degree hinge limiting pin.
- Each product needs its own anti-tip system installed per the individual model installation requirements.
- Electrical and water locations for each product are defined in the individual model installation requirements.
- When installing custom handles, ensure the position of the handle does not cause the door panel to interfere with surrounding cabinets or products.
- All 3/4" wide finished returns should be 24" deep (1" less deep than the 25" deep cabinet cutout).
- All 2 1/2" wide finished returns should be 25" deep (the same depth as the 25" deep cabinet cutout).
- Every 30" BF product (ZIK303, ZIC303, ZIW303) will have a gap between the top of the case and the cabinet cutout above it. This gap should be filled with a 4" tall x 30" wide x 3/4" thick finished return. This finished return should be set back 7/8" behind the door panel.
- Diagrams A and B can only be used on custom panel models. The inside edge of the door handle on panel J must be a minimum of 2.5" from the panel edge. For stainless door panels, use diagrams C or D.
Installation Dimension Tables
The following tables provide detailed dimensions for various combinations of product platforms (3-Door Convertible Column, Integrated Bottom Freezer, Wine Column, Single Door Column) when installed in a triple configuration. Two installation methods are detailed: "Smallest Cutout" (which may have door opening restrictions) and "Simultaneous Door Opening" (which requires a larger cutout). These tables specify:
- Cabinet cutout dimensions (depth, height, width).
- Gap filler and return dimensions.
- Panel widths.
- Required accessory kits (if applicable).
Due to the extensive nature of these tables, they are not fully transcribed here but are essential for accurate installation planning. Please refer to the original document for complete details.
