Audison SR Series User's Manual
This manual provides detailed instructions for the Audison SR series car amplifiers, including installation, operation, and technical specifications. It is designed to help users get the most out of their audio system.
1. Precautions
Before installing and operating the Audison SR series amplifiers, please read all instructions carefully. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in damage to the product or personal injury.
- Ensure your vehicle has a 12 VDC negative ground electrical system.
- Verify the alternator and battery can support the increased power consumption.
- Avoid installation in areas exposed to water, excessive humidity, dust, or dirt, such as the engine compartment.
- Never run cables outside the vehicle or near electronic components that could cause interference.
- Install the amplifier in locations with ambient temperatures between 0°C (32°F) and 55°C (131°F). Ensure adequate ventilation around the amplifier; covering the heat sink can cause overheating and protection mode activation.
- The amplifier can reach temperatures up to 80°C (176°F). Allow it to cool before touching.
- Clean the amplifier periodically using a damp cloth with mild soap. Avoid aggressive solvents and compressed air.
- Ensure the chosen installation location does not interfere with the vehicle's mechanical or electrical systems.
- Prevent short circuits when handling power cables, especially during connection to the battery.
- Exercise caution when drilling or cutting vehicle panels to avoid electrical wiring or structural elements.
- Route power supply cables carefully, avoiding sharp edges and moving parts. Use rubber grommets for protection where cables pass through metal.
- Secure all cables properly along their length with flame-resistant, self-extinguishing protective jackets. Use clamping screws near the amplifier's power terminals.
- Select appropriate cable gauge based on amplifier power and recommended charts. Use high-quality cables, connectors, and accessories.
- Plan the amplifier configuration and wiring routes before installation for ease and efficiency.
- Keep the product in its original packaging until ready for final installation to prevent accidental damage.
- Always wear protective eyewear when using tools.
Typical Installation Sequence:
- Turn off the audio system source and all other electronic devices before installation.
- Run the power wire from the battery to the amplifier location using a cable with adequate AWG.
- Connect the power supply with correct polarity: positive (+) to the battery cable, negative (-) to the vehicle chassis.
- Install an insulated fuse holder no more than 40 cm from the battery's positive terminal, connecting the power cable to it. Do not install the fuse yet.
- Ensure a proper ground connection by scraping paint/grease from the chassis and using a screw. Verify continuity between the battery negative terminal and the ground point. Connect all components to the same ground point if possible to minimize noise.
- Route all signal cables together and away from power cables.
- Connect RCA input cables. The signal level should be between 0.2 VRMS and 5 VRMS (0.32 VRMS - 8 VRMS for SR 6.600).
- Connect high-level inputs using the appropriate plug. The signal level should be between 0.8 VRMS and 20 VRMS (1.6 VRMS - 40 VRMS for SR 6.600). Do not use high-level inputs if pre-amplified connections are already in use.
- Connect speaker outputs using 10 AWG maximum speaker cable.
- Do not connect the negative (-) speaker outputs together. If using an external crossover, ensure its negative poles are not interconnected.
- The amplifier turns on by connecting the REMOTE IN terminal to the source's remote output. It can also turn on automatically via high-level inputs (Speaker IN) by setting the "AUTO TURN ON" switch to ON.
- The blue LED indicates the product is powered on. A red LED indicates overload, thermal protection, speaker cable short circuits, or amplifier malfunction.
- Fuses are located near power and speaker terminals. Replace fuses only with those of the same rating.
- Secure all installed components to the vehicle structure for stability and safety. Detached components can cause serious damage.
- After installation, check all wiring and connections.
- Insert the fuse into the holder. The fuse rating should be 30% higher than the amplifier's built-in fuse. If powering multiple amplifiers, the fuse rating should be 30% higher than the sum of all amplifier fuses.
- Calibrate listening levels by setting the source volume to 3/4 maximum, then adjust amplifier levels until distortion is heard.
- Refer to the Audison website for warranty information.
Safe Sound: Use common sense and practice safe sound. Prolonged exposure to high sound pressure levels can damage hearing. Safety must be prioritized while driving.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE): Products marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol should not be disposed of with regular household waste. They must be recycled at appropriate facilities. Contact your local municipal office for recycling information. Proper disposal protects the environment and health.

- Phase: Adjustable phase control (0° to 180°).
- Bass Boost: Adjustable bass boost at 50 Hz.
- Subsonic Filter: Filters frequencies below 25 Hz at 24 dB/Oct.
- ART (Auto Turn On): Enables automatic turn-on via speaker input signal when the remote turn-on signal is not available.
- LED Indicators: Blue LED for power ON, Red LED for protection/overload/fault conditions.
- Fuse Replacement: Locate fuses near power terminals and replace with the same rating.
