Safe Use and Driving Instructions

Your safety is paramount. Please read and understand all instructions before operating the iHoverboard H8.

About Safe Use

Our company hopes you enjoy the fun of the drifting scooter while driving safely. It is recommended to read the operation handbook before your first ride. Always check tires for damage and loose parts before each use. Contact an agent for repairs if needed.

Important safety information includes speed limits, indicator light warnings, and safety shutdown procedures. Do not use the scooter in a manner that endangers yourself or others, or property. Do not modify the scooter parts, as this can affect performance and cause harm.

Weight Limits

To ensure driver safety and prevent damage to the scooter, weight limits are in place:

  • Maximum weight limit: 100 kg
  • Minimum weight limit: 20 kg

WARNING! Exceeding the weight limit can put you in danger of falling.

Distance and Speed

The range of the iHoverboard is affected by factors such as terrain (smooth vs. rough), driver weight, ambient temperature, battery maintenance, and driving style (consistent speed vs. frequent acceleration/deceleration).

Speed Limit: The maximum speed is 10 km/h. Exceeding this speed will trigger a buzzer alarm. The scooter is designed to maintain balance at specified speeds and will limit speed if exceeded.

How to Drive the iHoverboard H8

Familiarize yourself with the operation manual before driving. Understanding these security issues is crucial for safe operation.

  1. Start: Press the power switch.
  2. Balance: Step onto one footpad. The automatic balancing system will engage. Once balanced, place the other foot on the second footpad.
  3. Movement: Maintain balance. Small forward or backward movements of your body control forward or backward motion. Avoid large body movements.
  4. Turning: Manipulate the scooter left and right.
  5. Stopping/Dismounting: Before dismounting, stop the scooter to a balanced state. Step off with one foot, then the other.

Diagram Description: Visual guide for turning: To turn left, place the right foot forward. To turn right, place the left foot forward. The diagram also illustrates correct posture: standing upright with a slight bend in the knees, feet centered on the pedals. Incorrect postures are marked with a cross (❌), while correct postures are indicated with a checkmark (✔️).

NOTE: If the foot switch is not level when triggered, a beep alarm and indicator light will activate, indicating the system is in automatic balance state. Operation is prohibited during this state.

Protection Functions and Warnings

The iHoverboard H8 has built-in protection functions to alert drivers to errors or irregularities:

  • Platform tilt: Forward or backward tilt exceeding 10 degrees.
  • Low battery voltage.
  • During charging.
  • Platform warping (operation prohibited).
  • Speeding.
  • Lack of battery.
  • Excessive rocking (back and forth for more than 30 seconds).
  • System enters protection mode: Alarm light and buzzer activate.
  • Platform tilt exceeding 35 degrees: Direct stop condition.
  • Tire locked-rotor: Stop condition after 2 seconds.
  • Low battery voltage (below protection value): Stop condition after 15 seconds (e.g., prolonged uphill slope).

WARNING! High-speed sharp steering is prohibited. Driving on transverse slopes can cause balance offset and affect safety.

WARNING! If the scooter enters an outage status, the system will lock. Do not continue to drive if the battery is depleted, as this can lead to imbalance and injury. This also affects battery service life.

Driving Practice and Safety

For your safety, ensure you are skilled before driving outdoors. Wear comfortable sportswear and flat shoes. Practice in an open, flat area until you can easily mount, ride forward/backward, turn, stop, and dismount.

Pay attention to the ground being flat and level. Slow down on unfamiliar terrain. The scooter is designed for smooth surfaces; decelerate on uneven roads.

If you are not skilled, avoid pedestrians and obstacles. Be cautious when passing through doorways.

General Safety Guidelines:

  • Ensure the soles of your feet are always on the mat.
  • Use suitable sports clothing for better handling of emergencies.
  • The scooter is for one person; a maximum of two people can ride at the same time, but this is not recommended for optimal safety and control.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load indicated in the manual.
  • Drivers should not be less than the minimum weight limit.
  • Be cautious on downhill slopes; reduce speed or stop if necessary.
  • Maintain a speed that ensures safety for yourself and others, allowing for quick stops.
  • In case of an accident, remain at the scene and await relevant authorities.
  • Maintain a safe distance from other riders to avoid collisions.
  • Be aware that your body height is increased by approximately 10 cm while riding.
  • Maintain balance by keeping your center of gravity stable, especially when steering.
  • Avoid distractions like using a phone or listening to music.
  • Do not ride on wet roads, in heavy rain, or perform long-distance backward rides, high-speed turns, or sharp turns.
  • The scooter is not designed for medical safety transport; use without external force.
  • Avoid riding in dim light or dark places.
  • Avoid smooth, slippery surfaces like ice, snow, or wet floors.
  • Avoid scattered debris, trash, or small stones.
  • Avoid narrow spaces or places with obstacles.
  • Ensure you have permission to use the scooter in certain environments.
  • Do not start or stop suddenly.
  • Avoid driving on steep slopes.
  • Do not use the scooter in unsafe environments where flammable gases, steam, liquids, dust, or fibers may cause fire or explosion.

Prohibited Users:

  • Children weighing less than 20 kg.
  • Individuals with a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, or those lacking self-protection awareness.
  • Pregnant women.
  • People with disabilities.
  • Individuals driving after consuming alcohol or drugs.

Always comply with local traffic laws and be courteous to pedestrians.

Learning Charging and Maintenance of Batteries

Proper charging and maintenance are crucial for extending battery life and performance.

Lack of Battery

If the power indicator light is red and flashing, the battery is low. Stop driving immediately. Driving with a low battery can cause the system to automatically tilt, making it difficult to control and potentially leading to falls and damage, as well as affecting battery lifespan.

Do not use the battery if:

  • It emits a strange smell or becomes excessively hot.
  • It leaks any material.

Battery removal and maintenance should only be performed by qualified staff. Do not touch battery leakage. Keep children and animals away from battery cells. Ensure the charger is unplugged before installing batteries or driving. Charging operations involving the scooter can be dangerous.

Batteries contain hazardous substances; do not open them or insert any materials. Use only company-provided charging equipment. Lithium batteries are subject to regulations regarding discharge and disposal.

The Charging Step

Follow these steps for safe and effective charging:

  1. Ensure the charging port is dry.
  2. Open the rear cover of the scooter to access the charging port.
  3. Connect one end of the charger to a mains power outlet (100-240V, 50-60 Hz). Confirm the charger's green indicator light is on.
  4. Connect the other end of the charger to the scooter's charging port.
  5. When the charger's indicator light is red, charging is in progress. If it's not red, check the connection.
  6. When the indicator light changes from red to green, the battery is fully charged. Stop charging immediately, as prolonged charging can affect battery life.

Important Charging Notes:

  • Use a local standard plug.
  • Charge according to instructions to avoid damaging the battery and reducing its lifespan.
  • The charging time is approximately 2 hours.
  • Keep the charging environment clean and dry.
  • Do not charge if the charging port is moist.

Battery Temperature and Parameters

For optimal efficiency, the battery temperature must be within the specified range. Extreme temperatures (cold or hot) can lengthen charging time or prevent full charging.

Detailed Battery Parameters:
