This appliance is designed for professional outdoor blower applications. Do not use under wet conditions or in presence of flammable liquids or gases. This blower is a professional power tool. Assembly and Adjustments
WARNING: Turn unit off and remove battery pack before making any adjustments or removing/installing attachments or accessories to reduce the risk of serious personal injury. Accidental start-up can cause injury.
CAUTION: Ensure the battery is removed before removing extension attachment or end attachment. An attachment must be attached to the housing before use.
Blow Tube Assembly (Fig. B)
- Line up the pegs (7) on the bottom of the tube with the notch (8) on the bottom of the housing opening.
- Push the tube into the blower housing until the lock engages the tube.
- Pull on the tube to ensure it is securely in place.
- To remove the tube, insert a screwdriver into the unlocking hole (9) on the side of the blower tube. Depress the tab inside and pull tube off.
WARNING: Do not operate blower without tube securely in place. Never reach down into housing through tube hole.
WARNING: Always remove the battery when you leave blower unattended or when storing, checking, adjusting, cleaning, or working on blower.
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack (Fig. C, E)
NOTE: For best results, make sure your battery pack is fully charged.
WARNING: Before removing or installing battery, make certain the speed lock lever (2) is in the off position to prevent switch actuation (Fig. E).
- To install battery pack: Insert battery pack (10) into battery housing (6) until fully seated and an audible click is heard. Make sure battery pack is fully seated and fully latched into position.
- To remove battery pack: Depress the battery release button (11) in the top of the battery housing and pull battery pack out of appliance.
Proper Hand Position (Fig. D)
WARNING: ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown to reduce the risk of serious personal injury.
WARNING: ALWAYS hold securely in anticipation of a sudden reaction.
Hold the blower with one hand on the main handle (3).
Operation
WARNING: Do not operate blower without blow tube securely in place. Never reach down into housing through tube hole.
Always wear safety glasses. Wear a filter mask if the operation is dusty. Use of rubber gloves and substantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors. Keep long hair and loose clothing away from openings and moving parts.
WARNING: Cut Hazard. When turning the tool off, wait 10 seconds for the fan to stop rotating before removing the blower tube.
- Always ensure the blower is switched OFF and the battery is removed when: leaving unattended, clearing a blockage, checking, adjusting, cleaning, or working on the blower.
- Only use blower in daylight or good artificial light.
Switching ON/OFF (Fig. E)
WARNING: Use both hands to grip the product firmly when switching on. Do not point unit discharge at self or bystanders.
- To turn the blower ON: Ensure the speed lock lever (2) is in the off position and depress the trigger switch (1).
- To lock the blower ON: Pull back on the speed lock lever (2). The blower runs at higher speeds as the lever is moved further. The speed lock lever can also be pulled back to start the blower without needing to first depress the trigger switch.
- To turn the blower OFF: Release the trigger switch (1) and/or push forward on the speed lock lever and return it to its off position.
Use (Fig. C, F)
CAUTION: Do not point unit discharge at self or bystanders.
Always wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Wear a filter mask if the operation is dusty. Use of gloves, long pants and substantial footwear is recommended. Keep long hair and loose clothing away from openings and moving parts.
- Install the battery pack (10) into the battery housing.
- Hold the blow tube approximately 7 inches (180 mm) above the ground, turn the blower ON, and using a sweeping motion from side to side, advance slowly, keeping the accumulated debris/leaves in front of you as shown in Fig. F.
Maintenance
WARNING: Turn unit off and remove the battery pack before making any adjustments or removing/installing attachments or accessories to reduce the risk of serious personal injury. Accidental start-up can cause injury.
Cleaning
Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize the risk of eye injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye protection when performing this procedure.
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic parts of the tool. These chemicals may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.

WARNING: Since accessories, other than those offered by DEWALT, have not been tested with this product, use of such accessories with this tool could be hazardous. To reduce the risk of injury, only DEWALT recommended accessories should be used with this product.
