Operation
Switching On and Off:
- Push the lock-off tab forward, squeeze the lock-off lever, and then squeeze the variable speed trigger switch.
- Release the variable speed trigger switch and lock-off lever to turn off.
Speed Control:
- Pull the speed control switch back towards the battery housing to the "LO" position for extended runtime (best for larger projects).
- Push the speed control switch forward towards the auxiliary handle to the "HI" position for high-performance needs (higher RPM).
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack:
- Align the battery pack with the rails inside the tool's handle and slide it in until firmly seated.
- Press the release button and pull the battery pack out.
Proper Hand Position:
- Hold the tool using the designated gripping surfaces: the powerhead handle and the auxiliary handle.
- One hand on the powerhead handle and one hand on the auxiliary handle.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with clean, dry air at least once a week. Wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye protection.
- Do not use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning non-metallic parts. Use a cloth dampened with water and mild soap.
- Never let liquid get inside the tool.
Accessories
- Only use DEWALT recommended accessories.
- Contact DEWALT customer service for a list of recommended attachments.
Repairs
- The charger and battery packs are not serviceable.
- Repairs should be performed by a DEWALT factory service center or an authorized DEWALT service center using identical replacement parts.
