Safety Instructions

Installation

Refer to the Installation chapter.

Overflow Protection

The overflow protection starts pumping and shuts off the water intake if the water level in the dishwasher rises above normal. If the protection is triggered, F54 (Water Overflow) will be displayed. Turn off the water tap and contact the nearest service center. (To avoid water leakage outside the dishwasher, do not pull the plug from the wall socket before the water tap on the supply line is turned off!)

Winter Storage/Transport

Store the dishwasher frost-free and avoid long transports in severe cold. Transport the dishwasher upright or lying on its back.

Before transporting a used dishwasher or for long-term storage, the water must be drained.

Packaging

The packaging protects the product during transport. The packaging material is recyclable. Sort the packaging to contribute to reduced raw material consumption and less waste. Your retailer can take back the packaging for recycling or inform you about the nearest recycling station. The packaging consists of:

Disposal

The dishwasher is manufactured and marked for recycling. When the dishwasher has reached the end of its service life and is to be scrapped, it must be rendered unusable immediately. Pull out the plug and cut the cord as short as possible.

Contact your municipality for information on where and how your dishwasher should be recycled correctly.

Before Washing for the First Time

Water Hardness

To achieve a good washing result, the dishwasher needs soft water (water with low lime content). Hard water causes white deposits on dishes and in the dishwasher.

Checking Water Hardness

Water hardness is indicated in German degrees of hardness (°dH), French degrees of hardness (°fH), English degrees of hardness (°eH), or millimoles per liter (mmol/L).

Incoming water with a hardness degree above 2.8°dH (5°fH / 3.5°eH / 0.5 mmol/L) must be softened. This is done automatically by the built-in water softener. For the water softener to function optimally, the setting must be adapted to the incoming water's hardness degree. After setting the water softener, dose detergent and rinse aid as if you have soft water.

Contact your local waterworks to find out the hardness of your water.

Note your water hardness:

°dH °fH °eH mmol/L Recommended setting
0-2.8 0-5 0-3.5 0.0-0.5 00
2.9-5.6 6-10 3.6-7.0 0.6-1.0 01
5.7-11.2 11-20 7.1-14.0 1.1-2.0 02
11.3-16.8 21-30 14.1-21.0 2.1-3.0 03
16.9-22.4 31-40 21.1-28.0 3.1-4.0 04
22.5-28.0 41-50 28.1-35.0 4.1-5.0 05
28.1-36.4 51-65 35.1-45.5 5.1-6.5 06
36.4+ 65+ 45.5+ 6.5+ 07

If the water hardness exceeds 36.4°dH (65°fH / 45.5°eH / 6.5 mmol/L), it is recommended to connect an external water softener.

Increased Consumption During Regeneration

The dishwasher's built-in water softener regenerates regularly to maintain its function. During regeneration, the wash cycle is extended, and energy and water consumption increase. How often the dishwasher's water softener regenerates depends on the selected setting. Example: If the Eco 55° program is run with the standard water hardness setting (04), the water softener will regenerate regularly, increasing energy consumption by 0.025 kWh and water consumption by 2.5 liters, while extending the program time by 1 minute. The setting is made during the main wash of the program.

WARNING! Hard water causes white deposits on dishes and in the dishwasher. It is therefore important to select the correct water softener setting! See Water Hardness in the Settings chapter.

Never run the dishwasher with an empty salt container if the incoming water has a hardness degree above 2.8°dH (5°fH / 3.5°eH / 0.5 mmol/L).

Initial Settings

When the dishwasher is first switched on, it is important to select the correct settings for optimal washing results. See chapter Settings.

Set:

Filling Rinse Aid

Drying is faster and the result is better when using rinse aid. You also get a finer wash result with clear and spot-free dishes.

Fill the rinse aid container if you have selected Rinse Aid 01 – 05.

Filling Rinse Aid:

1. Open the rinse aid compartment lid.

2. Carefully fill the rinse aid compartment up to the MAX mark.

3. Wipe away any excess rinse aid around the compartment.

4. Close the lid properly.

It may take a little while for the symbol to go out after refilling.

Filling Salt

Fill the salt container if you have selected Water Hardness 01 - 07.

Filling Salt:

1. Unscrew the salt container lid counterclockwise.

2. Insert the funnel, supplied with the dishwasher, into the filling hole of the container. Add approx. 1 L of water the first time.

3. Fill with salt until the container is full (max 750 grams). Use special salt for dishwashers.

4. Wipe away excess salt so that the lid can be screwed on properly.

WARNING! To avoid rust stains, start a wash cycle immediately after refilling salt.

Never pour dishwasher detergent into the salt container. This will destroy the water softener!

Washing More Environmentally Friendly

Save Energy and Water

Washing dishes in a dishwasher generally uses less energy and water than hand washing.

OBS! Do not exceed the permitted temperature of the incoming water. Some materials in certain household items cannot withstand high heat. See Delicate Crockery in the Loading the Dishwasher chapter.

Loading the Dishwasher

Delicate Crockery

Some household items are not suitable for machine washing. This can be due to several reasons. Some materials cannot withstand high temperatures, while others can be damaged by dishwasher detergent.

Be careful with, for example, handmade items, delicate decorations, crystal/glass, silver, copper, pewter, aluminum, wood, and plastic. Look for the "Dishwasher Safe" marking.

Loading Affects Results

Be careful how you load the dishes to achieve the best washing and drying results with the lowest possible energy and water consumption. Give your dishwasher the best conditions to reach and wash all surfaces and to dry the dishes properly.

OBS! Check that the spray arms can rotate freely.

Dishwasher Baskets

The dishwasher is equipped with an upper basket and a lower basket with a cutlery basket. The appearance of the baskets may vary depending on the dishwasher model.

Upper Basket

Place glasses, cups, bowls, saucers, and plates in the upper basket. Turn all dirty surfaces inwards and downwards! Wine glasses should be placed on the wine glass shelf, and knives should be placed in the knife rack on the right.

Knife Rack and Upper Basket Loading:

Raising and Lowering the Upper Basket

1. Pull out the upper basket.

2. Grip the sides of the upper basket with both hands and lift it up.

3. When the upper basket is in the upper position and is lifted up, it lowers to the lower position. Note that both sides of the basket must always be at the same height.

Lower Basket

Place plates, saucers, serving dishes, pots, and cutlery (in the cutlery basket) in the lower basket.

Lower Basket Loading:

Adjustable Plate Supports

The adjustable plate supports can be folded down to allow better placement of pots and bowls.

Cutlery Basket

Place cutlery with the handles facing downwards, except for sharp knives, and spread them out as much as possible. Ensure that spoons do not lie on top of each other.

The cutlery basket is placed in the lower basket.

Cutlery Basket with Lid:

The lid of the cutlery basket can be removed.

Flexible Cutlery Basket:

The cutlery basket is flexible and can be divided into two parts that can be hung on the side of the lower basket.

Using the Dishwasher

Dosing Detergent

Follow the dosing instructions on the detergent packaging. The dishwasher is equipped with a water softener, so dose as if you have soft water.

Overdosing detergent can impair washing results and also places an extra burden on the environment.

Detergent Compartment

The detergent compartment must be dry when dosing detergent.

Detergent Compartment:

For powder or liquid dishwasher detergent, dose a smaller amount in the pre-wash compartment.

Slide to open.

Slide the lid up and press to close.

OBS! Only use dishwasher detergent! Hand dish soap must not be used, as the foam formation hinders the dishwasher's operation.

Combination Detergents

There are many types of combination detergents on the market. Read the instructions for these products carefully.

Activate the TAB setting and deactivate the Rinse Aid setting when using combination detergents that contain rinse aid.

Dishwasher tablets are not recommended for short programs (under 75 minutes). Use powder or liquid dishwasher detergent instead.

OBS! For optimal washing and drying results, use regular dishwasher detergent along with separate dosing of rinse aid and salt.
