BOT-R6W Boiler Thermostat User Guide
This guide provides comprehensive information on the installation, operation, and technical specifications of the BOT-R6W boiler thermostat.
Welcome
Thank you for choosing the BOT-R6W thermostat. This device utilizes advanced technology to provide a comfortable and suitable temperature environment. It is designed for boilers connected via a dry contact interface.
Working Principle and Main Functions
The BOT-R6W is an intelligent digital thermostat that functions as a temperature controller for boilers connected via dry contact. It compares the ambient temperature with the set temperature to signal the boiler to switch on or off. Key functions include weekly programming, frost protection, temperature calibration, and child lock.

- Install expansion screw sleeves on the wall with a pitch of 59mm. Ensure a mounting depth of 3-3.5mm.
- Separate the upper and lower covers using a screwdriver, following the alignment marks. Thread the connecting wire through the back cover slot, leaving approximately 20cm of wire length as needed.
- Fix the bottom shell securely to the wall and connect the wires. Finally, attach the front shell to the bottom shell.
Caution: Risk of electric shock. Installation should be performed by qualified personnel.
Wiring Diagram
The thermostat connects to the boiler system via three terminals:
- NC: Normally Closed
- COM: Common
- NO: Normally Open
These connections are designed for boilers that utilize a dry contact interface for control signals.
Description of Display & Icons
The thermostat display shows the following key information:
- Time: Current time
- Room temp.: Ambient temperature
- Mode icon: Indicates the current operating mode (Manual or Auto/Programming)
- Week icon: Displays the current day of the week
- Battery level: Shows the remaining battery power
- Heating icon: Indicates when the heating system is active

Operation Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Press the [Power Button] to turn the thermostat on or off.
2. Set Temperature
Press the [< Button] or [> Button] to adjust the desired temperature setting.
3. Set the Clock
With the thermostat powered on, press and hold the [M Button] for 5 seconds to enter minute setting. Use [< Button] or [> Button] for adjustment. Press [M Button] again to adjust the hour, and then the week, in sequence. Use [< Button] or [> Button] to set the values for hour and week.
4. Switch Modes
In the power-on state, press the [M Button] to cycle between Manual mode ([Manual Mode Icon]) and Auto mode (Programming mode) ([Auto Mode Icon]).
5. Child Lock Function
To activate the child lock and prevent accidental changes, simultaneously press and hold the [< Button] and [> Button] for 5 seconds. The [Child Lock Icon] will appear on the display. To deactivate, repeat the same button press combination.
6. Frost Protection Function
This function can be enabled in the Advanced Settings menu (option 3). When enabled and the thermostat is powered off, if the room temperature falls below 5°C, the thermostat will automatically activate the heating system to prevent pipes from freezing. Heating will continue until the room temperature reaches 5°C. This feature can be turned on or off according to user preference.
7. Set the Auto Mode (Programming Mode)
To enter programming mode settings, press and hold the [M Button] and the [< Button] simultaneously for 5 seconds while the thermostat is powered on. The display will show time and temperature settings. The [Week Icon] indicates the programming mode configuration (e.g., 5+2 day programming). Use [< Button] or [> Button] to set the desired time for a period. Press [M Button] to move to temperature adjustment for that period. Use [< Button] or [> Button] to set the temperature. After setting the first time period, press [M Button] to proceed to the next time period. Press [> Button] to save all settings and exit programming mode.
In Auto Mode, the thermostat will operate based on the programmed schedule. If a manual temperature adjustment is made during Auto Mode, the thermostat will temporarily follow the manual setting and automatically resume the programmed schedule at the next scheduled time period.
Programming Schedule Example (5+2 Day Mode):
Period | Icon | Default Time | Defaulted Temp. (°C) | Remark |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | [Morning Period Icon] | 06:00 | 20 | Working day |
2 | [Day Period Icon] | 08:00 | 16 | Working day |
3 | [Evening Period Icon] | 17:00 | 22 | Working day |
4 | [Night Period Icon] | 22:00 | 16 | Working day |
1 | [Morning Period Icon] | 06:00 | 20 | Rest day |
2 | [Day Period Icon] | 08:00 | 16 | Rest day |
3 | [Evening Period Icon] | 17:00 | 22 | Rest day |
4 | [Night Period Icon] | 22:00 | 16 | Rest day |
Notes:
- The default temperatures for periods 3 and 4 are the same as period 2; please adjust them according to your requirements.
- Ensure the last time point for each day is set before 23:59.

Clarification: Temperature Hysteresis
The temperature hysteresis setting determines the temperature range around the setpoint before the heating system is activated or deactivated. For example, if the hysteresis is set to 1°C and the target temperature is 20°C, the heating will turn on when the room temperature drops to 19°C (20°C - 1°C) and turn off when it reaches 21°C (20°C + 1°C).
Common Failures
Question | Possible Cause and Solution |
---|---|
Q1: Can not turn it on? | 1. Verify that the batteries are installed correctly (positive and negative terminals are aligned). 2. Ensure the power button is functional. |
Q2: LCD garbled code? | Check if the rear shell installation is misaligned or deformed. Loosen and reinstall the rear shell. |
Q3: Shows normal operation but no output to the boiler? | 1. Inspect the connection between the main control board and the power board for damage. 2. Ensure the output wiring is connected correctly. |
Q4: Measured temperature differs from other devices? | Calibrate the temperature using the first item ("Temperature calibration") in the advanced settings. |
