Where to Use
- Allow 12-18 inches of space between the unit and other electronics to prevent electromagnetic interference.
- Place indoors away from direct sunlight to prevent malfunction.
- Only place on hard, flat surfaces to avoid noise and vibrations.
- Allow at least 12-18 inches from walls for maximum airflow.
Control Panel
- 01. Auto Mode Indicator: 'Auto' LED indicates Auto Mode is active.
- 02. Air Quality Indicator: Color-coded LED shows air quality: Red (poor), Amber (fair), Blue (good).
- 03. Fan Speed Indicator: Shows current fan speed (Auto, Low, Medium, High, Turbo).
- 04. Sleep Mode Indicator: 'Sleep' LED indicates Sleep Mode is active.
- 05. Filter Replacement Indicator: LED indicates when filters need replacement.
- 06. Filter Reset Button: Press and hold for 5 seconds after filter replacement to reset the indicator.
- 07. Smart Sensor: Detects odorous gas and adjusts fan speed in Auto Mode. Takes approx. 4 minutes to calibrate.
- 08. Power Button: Turns the unit on/off. Air Quality Indicator cycles during the first 30 seconds.
- 09-1. Fan Speed/Auto/Sleep Buttons: Cycle through fan speeds: Auto, Low, Medium, High, Turbo, Sleep.
- Auto Mode: Automatically adjusts fan speed based on air quality.
- Sleep Mode: Disables Air Quality Indicator LED, sets fan to near-silent speed, and disables PlasmaWave®.
- 09-2. PlasmaWave® Button: Press to enable or disable PlasmaWave®. Enabled by default. A chirping/buzzing sound is normal.
- 10. PlasmaWave® Indicator: Shows if PlasmaWave® is enabled or disabled.
- 11. Wi-Fi Button: Press for 3 seconds to activate pairing mode. Press to turn Wi-Fi on/off.
- 12. Wi-Fi Indicator: Shows Wi-Fi status. Flashes during pairing, solid white when paired.
- 13. Light Sensor: Detects ambient light. Activates Sleep Mode in Auto Mode when dark.
Winix Smart Wi-Fi Setup
Requires a 2.4Ghz or newer wireless router and Android 5.0+ or iOS 10.0+ smartphone. Disable VPNs before connecting.
- Download the Winix Smart app from Google Play or iTunes.
- Run the app and follow the setup guide:
- Select 'New Unit' and choose C545.
- Read notice and select 'OK'.
- Enter Wi-Fi password.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the unit until it beeps. Wi-Fi indicator will blink.
- Connect to the Winix Smart network via your device's network menu. Select 'Next' to connect.
- Define unit settings (Name and Location).
- The Winix Smart Indicator will light up upon successful setup.

Initial Operation
- Remove the front panel by grasping its upper edge and pulling gently forward.
- Remove the Pre-Filter, then the bag of filters behind it.
- Remove filters from their protective plastic bags.
- Install filters securely: Pre-Filter (front), Activated Carbon Filter (middle), True HEPA Filter (back).
- Close the front panel.
- Insert the power cord into an electrical outlet.

Cleaning Care
Cleaning the Filters:
- Pre-Filter: Vacuum or use a soft brush. Rinse in room temperature water if excessively soiled (do not use detergent/soap). Allow to dry for 24+ hours. Do not use hot water over 104°F or volatile fluids.
Resetting Filter Life:
After replacing the True HEPA Filter, close the front panel. While the unit is on, hold the Filter Reset Button for at least 5 seconds until a beep is heard. The Filter Replacement Indicator will disappear.
Cleaning the Exterior & Interior:
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth (room temperature water), then dry with a clean cloth.
- Clean the interior with a vacuum cleaner.
- Clean every 1-2 months for optimal performance.
NOTICE: Always unplug the power cord before cleaning and wait for the unit to cool down. Never disassemble, repair, or modify the unit yourself. Do not use flammable sprays or liquid detergents. Do not allow children to clean or maintain the unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Unit does not turn on: Ensure plug is securely attached to a powered outlet. Check for power outages.
- Unit doesn't work in Auto Mode: Ensure Auto Mode is selected. Check if the Smart Sensor is blocked or clogged; wipe with a damp cloth and dry.
- Vibrates and makes noise: Ensure the unit is on a hard, flat, even surface.
- Power plug and outlet feel hot: Ensure the plug is properly and securely plugged into the outlet.
- Strange smell: Clean air intakes and Pre-Filter. Replace Carbon and True HEPA Filters.
- Fan strength is weak / not purifying air: Check if the 'Check Filter' Indicator light is on; replace filters as required.
- Display panel is dim: If Auto Mode is on, the unit may enter Sleep Mode when the Light Sensor detects darkness.
