Safety Instructions
Read and understand this manual and the safety instructions before operating the device. The device is suitable for indoor use only. It is classified as Class II. The device is not suitable for room lighting.
- This device can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device in a safe way and understand the resulting hazards. Children should not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Never use the device near a bathtub, shower or swimming pool.
- There are no user-serviceable parts. Order any spare parts from your dealer.
- For luminaires with non-user-replaceable light sources: It is not possible to replace/touch live parts without causing damage to the device or parts.
- For non-user-replaceable light sources: The light source cannot be replaced by the user. Replace the ceiling light if necessary.
- Do not use the device if the protective cap is broken or cracked. Immediately disconnect the device from the mains.
- Do not look directly into the light source to avoid: epileptic seizures in sensitive people, temporary blindness (flash blindness), permanent and irreversible eye damage.
- Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
- The housing may heat up during use. Ensure sufficient space around the device for good ventilation. Place the device horizontally on a flat and heat-resistant surface. Do not place the device on carpets, textiles, etc.
- Use the mains plug or a multi-socket strip to disconnect the device from the mains, ensuring it is easily accessible.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent.
- Do not leave the device unattended when exposed to sunlight: fire hazard! Close the cover after each use.
General Guidelines
- Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty at the end of this manual.
- Unauthorized modifications are prohibited for safety reasons. Damage caused by unauthorized modifications will void the warranty claim.
- Use the device only for applications described in this manual. Incorrect use of this device will void the warranty claim.
- In case of damage caused by non-compliance with the operating instructions, the warranty claim will be void. The manufacturer accepts no liability for consequential damage resulting from this.
- Neither Velleman nv nor its dealers can be held liable for exceptional, incidental or indirect damages of any kind (financial, physical, etc.) caused by possession, use or defect.
- Keep this manual for future reference.
Installation
- Turn the T-handle counterclockwise to open the table clamp.
- Attach the table clamp to a flat and solid surface with the T-handle facing down.
- Turn the T-handle clockwise until the table clamp is firmly secured.
- Insert the arm into the hole (top of the table clamp).
- Plug the mains plug into a suitable socket.
- Switch on the magnifying lamp with the ON/OFF switch (top).
- A hard cover protects the lens. Flip this up to use the lens. Do not force it. Always close the hard cover when you are not using the device to prevent fire hazards.

Cleaning and Maintenance
- Disconnect the plug from the socket before cleaning.
- Clean the device occasionally with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive chemicals, solvents or strong cleaning agents.

Warranty Information
Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty: Since its foundation in 1972, Velleman® has acquired extensive experience in the electronics world and currently distributes its products in over 85 countries. All products fulfill strict quality requirements and legal stipulations in the EU. To ensure quality, products undergo regular extra quality checks. General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU): All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase. Velleman® may decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion. You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% in case of a flaw occurred in the second year.
Not covered by warranty: Direct or indirect damage caused after delivery, damage by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity, loss of data, loss of profits; consumable goods, parts or accessories subject to aging (batteries, lamps, rubber parts, drive belts); flaws resulting from fire, water damage, lightning, accident, natural disaster; flaws caused deliberately, negligently or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use or use contrary to manufacturer's instructions; damage caused by commercial, professional or collective use (warranty reduced to six months); damage resulting from inappropriate packing and shipping; damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®. Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed, with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description. Note: Reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to repair. Returning a non-defective article may involve handling costs. Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs. The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
