Installation

1. Doorbell Installation
- Recommended installation height: 1.2m-1.5m.
- Situations not recommended for installation (may affect network connection): Iron doors; Corners of load-bearing walls.
- Ensure Wi-Fi configuration of the chime is finished and its LED indicator is solid blue before installation.
Step 1: Installation preparation.
- If you have an existing doorbell system or a mechanical/electronic chime, you can replace the existing doorbell with the EZVIZ doorbell. Ring the existing doorbell first to ensure it's working.
- Determine the mounting position of the doorbell and check if existing holes can be reused.
? If you don't have a doorbell or chime installed, skip step 1 and proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Shut off the electricity at the breaker.
A diagram shows a typical electrical breaker box with multiple switches.
? Note: Always be careful when handling electricity wiring. Consult a qualified electrician if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.
Step 3: Select the mounting plate.
Use the standard mounting plate, or one of the inclined mounting plates as a supplementary bracket for a specific viewing angle.
Diagrams illustrate mounting plates: one without an inclined plate, and one with an inclined plate at 15° (Fig.1) or 5° (Fig.2).
Step 4: Install the mounting plate.
For users with existing doorbells/chimes: remove the old doorbell, take out existing wires, and pass them through the mounting plate.
Option A (for smooth wall)
Stick the plate foam onto the mounting plate and then paste the assembly to the wall.
A diagram shows the plate foam being applied to the mounting plate.
Option B (for uneven wall)
Place the drill template onto the chosen mounting surface. Optionally, drill four screw holes and insert anchors. Anchors are not needed for wooden doorframes.
A diagram shows a drill making a hole, and an anchor being inserted. Another diagram shows the mounting plate being fixed with mounting screws, with emphasis on the upper two screws first.
? It is recommended to use a drill with a diameter of 6mm.
Step 5: Install the doorbell.
Option A (with existing wires)
Connect the existing doorbell wires to the terminals at the back of the EZVIZ doorbell and tighten the terminal screws. A diagram shows wire connectors and U-shaped wires connecting the doorbell terminals.
Install the doorbell to the mounting plate.
Option B (without existing wires)
Install the doorbell to the mounting plate.
Diagrams show the doorbell being attached to the mounting plate for both options.
Step 6: Restore power at the breaker.
A diagram shows the electrical breaker box again.
2. Micro SD Card Installation (Optional)
Insert the micro SD card (sold separately) into the card slot as shown in the figure below.
A diagram shows a micro SD card being inserted into the chime's card slot.
In the EZVIZ app, navigate to Device Settings and tap "Storage Status" to check the SD card status. If it displays "Uninitialized", tap to initialize it. The status will change to "Normal" and the card can store videos.
Maintenance
1. Direct Charging
Connect the doorbell to a power outlet via the power adapter.
A diagram shows the doorbell connected to a power adapter, which is plugged into a power outlet.
- When charging, the doorbell will automatically turn on.
- If the doorbell is installed outdoors, use a waterproof power cable for charging.
