5. Install Your Doorbell
1. Installation Location
Choose a location with a clear, unblocked field of view and a good wireless signal. Keep the following tips in mind:
Ensure the wall is strong enough to withstand three times the weight of the doorbell.
Recommended installation height: 1.3m-1.6m above the ground for optimal performance.
Situations not recommended for installation (may affect network connection): [Iron doors]; [Corners of load-bearing walls].
Ensure that side-to-side traffic crosses the doorbell's field of view. The doorbell's [motion sensor] is much more sensitive to side-to-side movement than to movement directly toward or away from the doorbell.
Choose the Power Supply Method for Your Doorbell
Option 1: Connect to Solar Panel
Option 2: Wired Connection
Option 3: Battery Power only
Option 1: Connect to Solar Panel
Important: The solar panel cannot be installed with a [wired chime] simultaneously, as it will cause damage. The solar panel supports installation in four directions (up, down, left, right). The back of the doorbell and the bottom of the solar panel have space for wire hiding. It is recommended to install the solar panel on the top or on the left or right of the doorbell for optimal use. Estimate the installation position in advance.
1. Disassemble the Backplate of Solar Panel
Take out the [solar panel] from the package. Use the provided [pin] to press and hold the hole at the bottom of the solar panel, then remove the [backplate].
2. Connect the Wires of the Solar Panel
Connect the solar panel to the doorbell by attaching the solar panel's wiring connector to the [terminals] at the back of the doorbell using a screwdriver.
3. Install the Mounting Bracket of Doorbell
Option A (for smooth wall): Clean and dry the installation location. Tear off the film of the [foam sticker] and paste the [mounting bracket] directly to the desired installation location, pressing hard. For firm adhesion, press hard after fixing the bracket; it is suggested to let it rest for 3 hours before proceeding.
Option B (for uneven wall): Place the [drill template] onto the surface of the desired installation location and drill two [screw holes]. (Optional) Insert [anchors] to the holes (no need for a [wooden surface]). Secure the mounting bracket using the provided metal screws (PA3x25). It is recommended to use a 6mm [drill bit]. Please use the provided anchors and metal screws. Thread the connected wires through the [wire hole] of the mounting bracket, depending on your solar panel's installation location, to facilitate doorbell installation.
4. Attach Your Doorbell to the Mounting Bracket
Align the [Mounting Hole] in the lower part of the doorbell with the [hook] on the lower part of the mounting bracket, and attach the doorbell.
Gently slide the doorbell downward.
Finally, attach the upper part of the doorbell to the mounting bracket. Installation is complete.
5. Install the Backplate of Solar Panel
Option A (for smooth wall): Tear off the film of the [foam sticker] and paste the [backplate] directly to the desired installation location.
Option B (for uneven wall): Place the [drill template] onto the surface of the desired installation location and drill two [screw holes]. (Optional) Insert [anchors] to the holes (no need for a [wooden surface]). Secure the backplate using the provided metal screws (PA3x25). It is recommended to use a 6mm [drill bit]. Please use the provided anchors and metal screws.
6. Install the Solar Panel
Attach the solar panel to the backplate from top to bottom, aligning with the two [slots] at the top. The backplate of the solar panel and the mounting bracket of the doorbell both have reserved space for hiding wiring to reduce exposed wires and improve appearance.
Option 2: Wired Connection
1. Shut Off the Breaker
Ensure that the main switch is turned off.
2. Remove Your Existing Doorbell (Optional)
If replacing an existing doorbell, shut off power at the [breaker]. Remove it from the [wall] and disconnect the [wires]. Your doorbell is compatible with doorbell systems supplying 8-24 volts AC at 50 or 60Hz, 40VA max. Do not wire your Doorbell to a [DC-powered intercom system] or other [DC power source].
Please thread the two protruding [wires] through the wiring holes in the [mounting bracket] of the doorbell, and install the mounting bracket.
3. Install the Mounting Bracket of Doorbell
Option A (for smooth wall): Clean and dry the installation location. If wiring your doorbell, feed your doorbell [wires] through the hole in the [mounting bracket] first. Tear off the film of the [foam sticker] and paste the mounting bracket directly to the desired installation location, pressing hard. For firm adhesion, press hard after fixing the bracket; it is suggested to let it rest for 3 hours before proceeding.
Option B (for uneven wall): Place the [drill template] onto the surface of the desired installation location and drill two [screw holes]. If wiring your doorbell, feed your doorbell [wires] through the hole in the [mounting bracket] first. (Optional) Insert [anchors] to the holes (no need for a [wooden surface]). Secure the mounting bracket using the provided metal screws (PA3x25). It is recommended to use a 6mm [drill bit]. Please use the provided anchors and metal screws.
4. Connect the Wires
Connect the wires coming out of your wall to the [terminals] on the back of your doorbell. Either wire can connect to either screw; the order does not matter. Your doorbell is compatible with doorbell systems supplying 8-24 volts AC, 50mA, at 50 or 60Hz, 40VA max. Please connect the wires that go through the mounting bracket to the terminals at the back of the doorbell.
For safety reasons, please trim or strip the wires to expose approximately 1 cm length. Use a screwdriver to tighten the wire ends to the terminal screws at the back of the doorbell. Please ensure that the two wires do not create a short circuit. If either wire is frayed, twist it tightly.
Option 3: Battery Power only

Use the provided [pin] to press and hold the hole on the top of the doorbell, meanwhile push the doorbell upwards and then take it off.
3. Charge the Doorbell
Connect the doorbell to a power outlet via a power adapter.
Before charging: Please purchase a 5V 2A power adapter, as it is not included in the package. It is recommended to use the included power cable. If installed outdoors, use a waterproof power cable. Do not charge when the temperature exceeds 45°C or is below 0°C. Charging with a power adapter outdoors is not allowed.
Charging: If using a 5V 2A adapter, it takes about 4.5 hours to fully charge. When charging, ensure the lens faces upward to avoid damaging the lens. The doorbell will automatically turn on when charging.

Initiatives on the Use of Video Products
Technology affects every aspect of our life. As a forward-looking tech company, EZVIZ is aware of the role technology plays in improving efficiency and quality of life, as well as the potential harm of its improper usage. Video products can record real, complete, and clear images, holding great value in representing facts. However, improper distribution, use, and/or processing of video records may infringe on the privacy, legitimate rights, and interests of others.
Committed to innovating technology for good, EZVIZ earnestly advocates that every user shall use video products properly and responsibly, to collectively create a positive environment where all related practices and usage comply with applicable laws and regulations, respect individuals' interests and rights, and promote social morality.
EZVIZ's initiatives:
Privacy Expectation: Each individual possesses a reasonable expectation of privacy. The use of video products should not conflict with this. A warning notice clarifying the monitoring range should be displayed when installing video products in public areas. For non-public areas, evaluate the rights and interests of people involved thoughtfully, including obtaining consent of stakeholders and not installing highly-invisible video products without others' knowledge.
Recording Scope: Video products objectively record footage of real activities within specific time and space. Users shall reasonably identify the people and rights involved in advance to avoid infringing on portrait, privacy, or other legal rights of others while protecting themselves. Notably, enabling audio recording captures sounds, including conversations. EZVIZ highly recommends a comprehensive assessment of potential sound sources before turning on audio recording.
Data Control and Ethics: Video products generate audio or visual data (possibly including biometric information like facial images) based on user selection. These products are technological tools; it is the methods and purposes of those who control and use the data that matter. Data controllers shall strictly abide by applicable laws and regulations, and fully respect non-obligatory rules including international conventions, moral standards, cultural norms, public order, and local customs. Prioritize the protection of privacy, portrait rights, and other reasonable interests.
Data Security: Video data generated by video products carries rights, values, and demands of various stakeholders. It is crucial to ensure data security and shield products from malicious intrusions. Every user and data controller shall undertake all reasonable and necessary measures to maximize product and data security, avoiding data leakage, improper disclosure, or misuse. This includes setting up access control, selecting a suitable network environment, and establishing/optimizing network security.
Responsible Use: Video products contribute to enhancing societal safety. Any attempt to abuse these products to violate human rights or engage in unlawful activities contradicts the essence of tech innovation. EZVIZ encourages users to establish their own methods and rules to evaluate and monitor the use of video products, ensuring they are always used properly, thoughtfully, and with goodwill.
