LED Alarm Relay Operation Table

This table describes the alarm relay operation based on pump status and condensate level, showing configurations for 'Default operation' (NC - Normally Closed) and 'Peripheral Mode' (NC - Normally Closed).

LED Indications in Operation

Diagram showing DIP switches and corresponding LED indicators (green for normal, red for alarm).

Transport and Storage

Transport

Inspect the GOBI II for any potential transportation damage. Report any obvious damage to the vendor immediately.

Storage

Commissioning

Application

The Gobi II pump can be mounted on the right or left side of an evaporator unit.

Tools Needed

Tools shown include a drill with a 5.5mm (7/32") drill bit, a level, wire cutters, and a screwdriver.

Installation Steps

  1. Mount the wall back plate using the provided screws and anchors. Ensure it is level.
  2. Attach the pump to the wall back plate.
  3. Connect the condensate drain tubing to the pump's discharge barb. Secure with a cable tie.
  4. Connect the power and alarm cables. Ensure connections are dry.
  5. Route cables to prevent damage.
  6. Configure DIP switches for desired capacity (low, medium-low, medium-high, high) based on the A/C unit's rating. The factory default is 'low'.

CAUTION: Cables and pipes may be in the wall cavity. Be careful while drilling anchor holes.

Diagrams illustrate the mounting of the back plate, pump attachment, drain tubing connection, and electrical connections.

Power and Alarm Connections

Diagrams show various installation scenarios for connecting the Gobi II pump to different A/C system configurations, including single indoor units powered from outdoor units, multi-split systems, and scenarios with or without alarm wiring.

INPUT POWER: 100-240V, 50/60Hz, 2.5A (Max)

The alarm relay fuse must be rated for the specific application and of the HRC type, 5 x 20mm 250 VAC, 10A (Max).

This appliance incorporates an earth connection for functional purposes only.

Wiring Diagrams

Detailed wiring diagrams illustrate connections for different A/C unit types and power sources, including the use of the alarm relay.

The alarm relay operation table is provided, detailing 'Default operation' and 'Peripheral Mode' for different pump statuses and condensate levels.

Maintenance

Water Filter Maintenance

Regular cleaning or replacement of the Gobi II water filter prolongs pump life by preventing debris from entering the pump. Recommended service intervals are a minimum of every 12 months, or every 3 months in dusty environments or those with cooking oils or potential algae growth.

To clean/replace the filter: Remove it from the Gobi II suction barb, wash with cold water, and replace it.

Change Alarm Fuse

WARNING: Disconnect all electrical power before starting installation, maintenance, or service work.

The alarm relay fuse must be rated for the specific application and be of the HRC type, 5 x 20 mm 250VAC, 10A (MAX).

Installations must only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Return and Disposal

At the end of its useful life, send the product to a separate collection for electric and electronic devices, according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

FaultCorrection
No LED lightsCheck for incoming voltage. The blue and brown wires are for power.
Pump runs constantlyCheck filter placement: the water filter should not touch the digital sensor. Clean the digital sensor for dirt, mold, or debris with water. Ensure all tubing connections are secure and the drain line is free of clogs, kinks, or pinching. If the pump runs constantly and water drains, adjust dip-switch power settings to increase pump capacity if the system has too much water or lift for the current setting.
A/C unit is offCheck the pump LED status light. If solid red (not blinking) and alarm wiring is connected, the pump alarm relay is stopping the A/C unit to prevent overflow. This is normal function. If alarm wiring is used, check the HRC alarm fuse for continuity and replace if necessary. Ensure the pump is in Default Mode if alarm wiring is used. If the alarm wiring is used, the wiring is correct, and the status LED is OFF, there may be a fault with the power supply or the pump itself. The pump will continue to run during an alarm to lower the water level. Many outdoor A/C units have a 5-minute delay before resuming operation.
Alarm is activatedIf the alarm is activated (solid red LED), the pump has too much incoming water. The alarm relay stops the A/C system (if alarm wiring is used). Check for a blocked, kinked, or clogged drain line. Verify pump capacity settings match the A/C unit capacity and lift requirements.
Water is drippingEnsure the alarm cable is installed correctly per wiring diagrams. If the alarm is not used and the drain line is blocked, the pump can overflow. Always use the alarm function. Check hose connections; high head pressure can dislodge hoses. Always use factory-supplied cable ties. Ensure the wall back plate, water tray, and pump body are mounted level.
Pump is noisyCheck filter placement: if the water filter touches the digital sensor, it may activate the pump unnecessarily. Clean the digital sensor and filter with water. Configure pump capacity correctly according to A/C capacity and drain line lift/run.
Slurping or gurglingCorrect any siphon in the drain line. If the drain line dips below the pump's level, water siphoning can cause the pump to run dry, leading to noise. Ensure the drain line is installed to prevent siphoning.
LED lights flashOn initial power-up, pumps have a 5x LED start sequence, then go to standby (blinking green). This is normal. This sequence indicates the alarm configuration (Default or Peripheral Mode). The alarm relay is user-configurable.
3 red & 3 green LED flashesThis is the pump reconfigure code, indicating the pump needs more capacity. Reconfigure dip-switches for higher power if the pump has had 3 consecutive long run cycles that resulted in an alarm state.
