Riding Notice
The iScooter i9 electric scooter is a leisure device. However, when used in public areas, it is considered a vehicle and is subject to the risks associated with vehicles. For your safety, please follow the instructions in this manual and comply with traffic laws and regulations set forth by government and regulatory agencies.
- Respect Pedestrians: Do not startle pedestrians, especially children. When riding behind pedestrians, ring your bell to alert them and slow down to pass on their left (applicable in countries where vehicles drive on the right). When riding across pedestrian areas, keep to the right at a low speed or dismount.
- Follow Instructions: Adhere strictly to the safety instructions provided in this manual. iScooter is not liable for any financial losses, physical injuries, accidents, legal disputes, or other conflicts resulting from actions that violate user instructions.
- Pre-Ride Check: Check the scooter before each use. If you notice loose parts, low battery alerts, excessive wear, strange sounds, or other abnormal conditions, stop riding immediately.
- WARNING – Risk of Fire: Contains no user-serviceable parts.
Folding and Carrying
Ensure the scooter is turned off before folding. To fold, unlock the folding mechanism and bend the handlebar stem to hook the buckle on the rear fender. To unfold, press the bell trigger to release from the buckle, erect the handlebar, and lock the folding structure.
Disc Brake Adjustment
To adjust the disc brake sensitivity:
You will need the Allen wrench to loosen the screw on the rocker.
- If the disc brake is too sensitive, rotate the disc brake rocker down slightly. Reinstall the screw back to the brake cable core to tighten.
- If the disc brake cannot stop effectively, rotate the disc brake rocker up slightly. Reinstall the screw back to the brake cable core to tighten.
Notice: The disc brake may squeak during initial use until it is broken in. This is normal and does not affect the brake's function or performance.
To remove disc brake noise:
First, ensure the scooter is turned off. For easier operation, place the scooter on a flat surface.
- Loosen two screws on the brake caliper (not the screw on the rocker).
- Adjust the position of the brake caliper to ensure the brake disc is centered between the two brake pads.
- Ensure the brake disc and brake pads do not touch each other when not engaged.
- Hold the brake caliper in the desired position and retighten the screws.
Daily Care and Maintenance
Cleaning and Storage
If you notice stains on the scooter's body, wipe them off with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, apply a small amount of toothpaste, brush with a toothbrush, and then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Notes:
- Do not clean the scooter with alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other corrosive and volatile chemical solvents, as this can cause severe damage.
- Do not wash the scooter with a high-pressure water spray. During cleaning, ensure the scooter is turned off, the charging cable is unplugged, and the rubber flap on the charging port is closed to prevent water leakage, which could lead to electric shock or other serious issues. When the scooter is not in use, store it indoors in a dry and cool place.
- Do not leave the scooter outdoors for extended periods. Excessive sunlight, overheating, and overcooling can accelerate battery pack degradation.
Battery Maintenance
- Use original battery packs. Using other models or brands may lead to safety issues.
- Do not touch the battery contacts. Do not dismantle or puncture the casing. Keep the contacts away from metal objects to prevent short circuits, which can cause battery damage or even injuries and death.
- Use the original power adapter to avoid potential damage or fire hazards.
- Improper disposal of used batteries can cause significant environmental harm. Please follow local regulations for proper battery disposal.
- After each use, fully charge the battery to prolong its lifespan.
Storage and Disposal
- Store the scooter in a cool and dry place, ideally between 14°F and 104°F (-10°C and 40°C). In very humid environments, the scooter's interior may experience condensation or water accumulation, which can rapidly damage the battery. The device is not intended for use at elevations above 2000 meters. Prolonged exposure to UV rays, rain, and the elements can damage enclosure materials. Store indoors when not in use.
- In daily use, try to avoid fully exhausting the battery before recharging. If the battery level is low, charge it as soon as possible.
- Charge the scooter every other month to preserve battery health.
