The charging dock has Type-A and Type-B ports for USB connection.

Get Version

Charge the Scanner

Connect the charge cradle to your host device using the provided USB cable, or use a DC plug with an electrical wall outlet. Then, place the scanner on the charge cradle to charge.

Charging Instructions:

1. Connect the USB cable from the power source (e.g., laptop) to the charging dock.
2. Plug the DC adapter into a wall outlet and connect it to the charging dock.

Important Notes: DC Plug: Voltage: 5V; Amperage: >500mA

Warning Tone:

• Red Light - Charging
• Green Light - Fully charged

Get Battery Volume

Scan the command barcode below to check the battery status.

Battery Status Indicators:

• Voltage < 3.5V - Low battery: 5 beeps after each scan. Scanner may not read barcodes.
• 3.7V < Voltage < 3.5V - Low battery: 2 beeps after each scan.
• Voltage > 4.2V - Full Volume

Factory Defaults

Scanning the following barcode will restore the scanner to its factory settings. The scanner will power off after this operation.

Barcode Programming

Netum barcode scanners are factory programmed for common terminal and communication settings. To change these settings, scan the barcodes provided in this guide. An asterisk (*) indicates the default setting.

Important Notes:

Some command barcodes are specific to certain connection modes. Pay attention to the symbols below when scanning command barcodes:

• [Bluetooth symbol] Command barcodes apply to scanner transmission via Bluetooth.
• [WiFi symbol] Command barcodes apply to scanner transmission via WiFi.

Connection Way

The scanner can transmit data to your device via Bluetooth or WiFi. Choose your preferred method.

How to transmit characters via WiFi?

1. Connect the scanner to your device as shown in the diagram. [Diagram showing USB connection to laptop and scanner]
2. Power on the scanner and scan the "Wifi Mode" barcode. [Barcode: *Wifi Mode]
3. Download "NetumWifi service.exe" from: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2144/8019/files/NetumWiFiService.zip?v=1657616214
4. Open "Netum Wifi service.exe" and fill in the required information (only needed the first time). This includes WiFi Name, WiFi Password, Encryption method, Service address, and Service port. [Image of Parameter configuration window]
5. A QR code will be generated after filling in the information.
6. Scan the QR code with the scanner and close the "Parameter Configuration" window.
7. If a firewall prompt appears, click "Allow" to proceed. [Image of Windows Defender Firewall alert]
8. Once the scanner is connected via WiFi and the software is running, you will see a confirmation message. [Image of Netum WiFi Service software interface showing connection status]
9. Click "Keyboard entry" and "Open URL".
10. Place the cursor on the desired location for character output.
11. Set the keyboard language (refer to the "Keyboard Language" section) and begin scanning.
12. To connect multiple scanners to one computer, scan the QR code in the software for each new scanner and repeat step 11 to configure the keyboard language.

Note: NetumWiFiService is a Windows-based software that provides data receiving services via TCP/IP protocol and includes two additional functions: Keyboard input (input received content to the cursor position) and Open URL (open received URLs in the default browser).

How to transmit characters via Bluetooth?

Get Started:

1. Power on the scanner.
2. Scan the "Bluetooth HID Mode" barcode. [Barcode: Bluetooth HID Mode]
3. Find "NETUM WF Scanner" in your device's Bluetooth list and pair it.

Important Notes:

• Ensure the device is within Bluetooth range and Bluetooth is turned on.
• Pressing the scan button initiates connection attempts.
• A successful connection is indicated by a solid blue light. If connection fails after several attempts, the scanner will emit a long beep, and the blue light will turn off.
• Bluetooth working channel is not set by default. Scan "Bluetooth HID Mode" before pairing for Bluetooth connection.
• For command barcodes for SPP or BLE, please contact Netum for support.

Keyboard Language

To set the keyboard language, scan the corresponding command barcode. For example, scan "French keyboard" for a French keyboard layout. If using a US keyboard, this step can be skipped.

Idle Time

The scanner will enter sleep mode after 3 minutes of inactivity.

When Function Key Mapping is enabled, function characters are sent via the keypad.

FAQ

1. Some barcodes cannot be read, why?
   a. Dirty or unclear barcodes may not be read.
   b. The setting for some less common barcode types might be off by default. Activate the specific barcode type to enable it. Contact Netum for assistance.
2. How to change terminator to TAB?
   Refer to the "Terminator configuration" section in the full manual available on the Netum website.
3. Are there any barcodes for applying or removing prefix & suffix?
   Yes, download the full manual from www.netum.net and refer to the "prefix and suffix" section, or contact customer service.
4. How to solve the messy code problem encountered while using other foreign languages?
   The default language is English. Refer to the "Keyboard Language" section to change the language.
5. Why can the scanner not read Italy Pharmacy code?
   Download the manual specific to your scanner model from the Netum website. Refer to the Code32 section and scan "Enable Code32" to read Italy pharmacy codes.
6. Why can the scanner not read add-on 2 or 5 codes?
   Download the manual specific to your scanner model from the Netum website. Refer to the ADD-On code section and scan the appropriate command barcode to enable reading these codes.
7. Why can the scanner not read datamatrix GS1 in the correct format?
   Scan "Enable Function Key Mapping" from this manual to enable the scanner to output a group separator.
