Product Overview
The Singing Machine SMM548 is a portable Bluetooth karaoke machine designed to create joy through music. It features integrated lighting effects and voice changers for an enhanced singing experience.

Getting Started
Exiting "Try Me" Mode
To exit the "Try Me" mode, press and hold the [Power/Bluetooth] button for 2 seconds or charge the unit.
Charging the Unit
- Insert the included USB charging cable into the unit's micro USB port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a computer's USB port or a USB charging device.
- Charge for approximately 4 hours for a full charge.
- The speaker will light red and flash slowly while charging. The light turns off when fully charged.
Note: Charge the unit when the speaker light flashes red.
Connecting Headphones
For private listening or monitoring your singing, use headphones (not included). Insert headphones into the headphone jack.
Energy Saving Mode (APS)
The unit will automatically switch off after 30 minutes if no one is singing or if Bluetooth music playback has stopped, to conserve energy.
Operation
Powering On and Light Modes
- Press and hold the [Power/Bluetooth] button to turn the unit on. The power indicator will light.
- Press the [Power/Bluetooth] button repeatedly to cycle through light modes:
- Light Mode 1-8: Speaker lights up with changing colors, flashing with audio during playback or singing.
- Light Mode 9-10: Speaker lights up with continuously changing colors.
- Light Mode 11: Lights are turned off.
Adjusting Microphone Volume
Use the [Volume Up] and [Volume Down] buttons to adjust the microphone volume.
Built-in Voice Changers
The unit features 6 built-in voice changers. Press the [Voice Effect] button to cycle through them. The speaker light will change color with each effect. The voice changes when singing begins:
- Green light: ECHO
- Red light: FEMALE Voice
- Cyan light: MALE Voice
- Purple light: CHIPMUNK Voice
- Blue light: ROBOT Voice
- Lime light: RADIO Voice
Select white (NONE) to sing without any voice effects.
Vocal Removal
Press the [Vocal Removal] button to sing without the lead singer on a recording. Press it again to restore the lead singer. Note: Effectiveness may vary by song.
Using a Bluetooth Device
Pairing
- The unit automatically searches for and pairs previously connected Bluetooth devices.
- If no previously paired devices are found, or to pair a new device: Press and hold the [Power/Bluetooth] button to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The indicator will flash blue and red for 60 seconds.
- On your Bluetooth-compatible device, search for and select "Singing Machine" to pair. A chime and solid blue light indicate successful pairing.
Notes:
- If prompted for a passcode, enter "0000". If pairing fails, repeat the steps.
- On some devices (e.g., computers), you may need to select "Use as Audio Device" after pairing.
- To avoid excessive volume, start with the volume control at one-third or less and adjust as needed.
Playback and Disconnecting
- Press the [Play/Pause] button on your Bluetooth device or the unit to start playback.
- To disconnect a paired device and pair another, press and hold the [Power/Bluetooth] button. The indicator will flash blue and red.

Troubleshooting Guide
If this unit exhibits a problem, check the following before seeking service:
- No Power: Ensure the unit is turned on by pressing and holding the [Power/Bluetooth] button. Confirm the unit is charged.
- No Sound (General): Check if the volume is set to minimum. Increase the volume on your Bluetooth music device.
- No Sound from Microphone: Ensure the microphone volume is not set to minimum. Increase microphone volume using the [Volume Up] button.
- Bluetooth Reception Failure: Place the external Bluetooth device closer to the unit. Pair the unit with the Bluetooth device following the manual's procedures.
