IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
  • Observe work area conditions. Keep work area well lighted. Always keep children out of work area.
  • Store idle equipment. When not in use, the Indicator must be stored in a dry location. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children.
  • Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which the Indicator was designed. Do not modify the Indicator and do not use the Indicator for a purpose for which it was not intended.
  • Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Repair damaged or worn parts immediately.
  • Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the product.
  • Use eye protection. Always wear ANSI-approved impact safety goggles.
  • Battery strength will affect readings. Use fresh battery at all times.
  • Contains button cell battery. Keep out of reach of children. Discard used batteries immediately. Do not allow children to play with this device.
  • The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

Button/Coin Battery Warnings

ℹ️ This symbol means: INGESTION HAZARD: This product contains a button cell or coin battery.

  • Immediately dispose of used batteries and keep away from children. Do NOT dispose of batteries in household trash.
  • Even used batteries may cause severe injury or death.
  • Call a local poison control center for treatment information.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types of batteries, such as alkaline, carbon-zinc, or rechargeable batteries.
  • Ensure the batteries are installed correctly according to polarity (+ and -).
  • Remove and immediately discard batteries from equipment not used for an extended period of time.
  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
  • Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above 104°F or incinerate. Doing so may result in injury due to venting, leakage or explosion resulting in chemical burns.

Operating Instructions

Important! Do not bump or shock the tool when applying it to any work piece. Rough treatment may damage the highly sensitive mechanism.

Note: There are many applications for the Digital Indicator. The following is one example of how this product can be used: testing brake rotors for true.

  • Install battery by removing screw(s) and opening battery compartment. Install battery in correct polarity, close compartment and replace screw(s).
  • Clean off all brake components with brake parts cleaner before testing.
  • Push the "OFF/ON" Button to turn the meter "ON".
  • Clamp the Indicator (clamp sold separately) in place so that only the needle contacts the brake rotor. Push the Zero Button to set the dial to zero. Do not clamp the Indicator too forcefully against the object being measured. There must be room for the needle to move in and out while under pressure.
  • Spin the rotor by hand to see if it is true. As the rotor spins, the needle will move in and out. The display will indicate the amount of difference in true; the measurements which are above and below the baseline you established at the beginning.
  • Press the inch/mm Button to have the Indicator display switch between inches or millimeters.

This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, criminal activity, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or consequential damages arising from the use of our product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.

To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
