Introduction
- This document describes the procedures and precautions for updating the firmware of CD/USB receivers.
- If an error occurs during firmware update, the CD/USB receiver may be damaged. Carefully read the following procedures and precautions before performing the firmware update.
- For basic functions of the CD/USB receiver, refer to the operating manual for your model.
Target Models and Firmware Versions
The update program can be used for the firmware versions of the models listed below.

Creating Update Media
Creating update media on your PC.
- Download the appropriate update program for your model and firmware version.
- Copy the update program to the root directory of your USB memory device.
💬 You can also copy the update program to a device containing audio files and update the firmware from it.
- The update cannot be performed if the file is copied into a folder.
- If the update program file name is changed, the update cannot be performed.
Checking Firmware Version
- Press the [SRC] button and select "STANDBY" (Standby Mode).
- Press the [VOL] knob to enter settings mode. "FUNCTION" / "DISPLAY" will appear on the screen.
- Rotate the [VOL] knob to display "SYSTEM", then press the [VOL] knob.
- Rotate the [VOL] knob to display "F/W UPDATE", then press the [VOL] knob.
- Rotate the [VOL] knob to display "UPDATE SYSTEM", then press the [VOL] knob. The current firmware version will be displayed.
Firmware Update Procedure
- Connect the update program media to the CD/USB receiver.
- If an audio file is playing or "NO MUSIC" is displayed, press the [SRC] button and select "STANDBY" (Standby Mode).
- Press the [VOL] knob to enter settings mode. "FUNCTION" / "DISPLAY" will appear on the screen.
- Rotate the [VOL] knob to display "SYSTEM", then press the [VOL] knob.
- Rotate the [VOL] knob to display "F/W UPDATE", then press the [VOL] knob.
- Rotate the [VOL] knob to display "UPDATE SYSTEM", then press the [VOL] knob.
- Press the [VOL] knob again. "FILE CHECK" will appear on the screen.
- Rotate the [VOL] knob to display "YES", then press the [VOL] knob. The update will begin, displaying "UPDATING". The update will complete in approximately 3 minutes, after which "COMPLETED" will be displayed.
- The receiver will automatically restart. The firmware update is complete.
- Refer to "Checking Firmware Version" below for information on how to check if the program version has been updated.
💬 If "NO FILE" is displayed:
- Check if the update program is in the root directory.
- Check if the update program file name matches the model for update.
If "WAIT" is displayed for more than 5 minutes, you may not be able to update the firmware. In this case, check the following:
- Remove the USB memory device and reinsert it.
- Check if the USB memory device has a write-protection function.
- If it does, use another device without write protection.
- The USB memory device may be faulty. Update with another USB memory device.
- The firmware was not downloaded or copied to the USB memory device successfully. Download and copy it again.
Operating Procedure Summary
- Step 1: Download the firmware files and copy them to a USB memory device.
- Step 2: Update the firmware. (Takes approximately 3 minutes.) Reset the CD/USB receiver data.
- Step 3: Confirm that the firmware has been updated.
Precautions
- Before updating the program, park the vehicle in a safe place. Do not turn off the engine to prevent battery discharge.
- Do not turn off the engine or the CD/USB receiver power during the update. The update will not be performed correctly, and the CD/USB receiver may be damaged.
