SHARK Vancore Motorcycle Helmet
Official User Manual and Product Information
Introduction
Thank you for choosing a SHARK Vancore helmet. The Vancore is a top-quality helmet ideal for urban and extra-urban use. It complies with international standards but does not guarantee total protection in all circumstances. Please read all recommendations carefully before use. Driving carefully is essential, even when wearing a helmet.
Standard Compliance: This Vancore helmet is approved and conforms to the ECE R22/05 standard, meeting requirements in countries recognizing this standard.
Important Notes: For French traffic, safety reflectors (supplied separately) are required. In the United States and Canada, helmets with only ECE approval may require additional DOT FMVSS 218 approval.

Choosing the Correct Helmet Size
For effective protection and comfort, a helmet must fit perfectly. Measure your head circumference approximately 2 cm above your eyebrows, where your head is widest. Compare this measurement to the size chart:
Size | Circumference (cm) |
---|---|
XS | 53/54 |
S | 55/56 |
M | 57/58 |
L | 59/60 |
XL | 61 |
Try the size closest to your measurement. The helmet should feel firm but comfortable. Ensure good vertical and horizontal visibility and that the helmet stays securely in place during head movements. Warning: Do not lend your helmet if the size is not perfectly suitable. Always ensure the helmet is well-positioned and the chin strap is properly adjusted.

Chin Strap: Micrometric Buckle & Usage
Putting on the Helmet
Release the chin strap. Hold the two buckle sections apart to facilitate fitting. Position the helmet against your neck, then switch towards the front, ensuring the strap sections are properly positioned.
[Diagrams A and B showing the initial steps of putting on the helmet.]
Fastening the Chin Strap
Position the protective parts of the buckle correctly and fasten it. The "Precise Lock" system uses a snap lock for precise adjustment. Thread the tongue into the buckle until tension is perfect. The tongue connects and locks automatically.
[Diagrams C and D showing the buckle fastening process.]
Removing the Helmet
Release the chin strap by pulling the lever and removing the tongue from the buckle. Hold the two sections slightly apart and remove the helmet.
[Diagram D showing helmet removal.]
Holding System Adjustment
The "Precise Lock" system allows for precise adjustment via a notched section. Adapt the chin strap length using the adjusting buckle. Ensure the chin strap is correctly tensioned under the chin for a firm fit without discomfort. Regularly check strap length adjustment.
Warning: Never ride with a loose or insufficiently tightened chin strap. Avoid applying lubricating or acidic products, grease, or solvents to buckle parts.

Goggles and QRGS System
Goggles Description
The SHARK Vancore helmet is designed for use with SHARK VZ 7400 goggles, approved to European standard EN 1938 2010. These goggles feature double cylindrical lenses for better visibility and a high-performance anti-fog treatment on the internal display. They are made by Carl Zeiss.
Warning: Goggles with tint category 2 are not suitable for all conditions, especially where visibility is reduced (dawn, dusk, night, rain, or fog).
Goggles Maintenance
The outer surface is anti-scratch treated. Clean the lens with lukewarm water (below 40°C) and a soft microfiber cloth. Neutral soap like "savon de Marseille" can be used. Warning: Never use window cleaners or solvent-based products, as they can damage the screen treatment.
QRGS (Quick Release Goggles System)
Dismantling
To remove the goggles, take off the plastic part fixed to the elastic bandages on the side part of the goggles.

Assembly
Position the right strap fixing on its pin. Place the goggles in their final position. Attach the left strap fixing on its pin using the dedicated buckle.

Textile Parts and Maintenance
Type and Treatment
The textile and foam parts provide comfort and enhance helmet performance. Contact fabrics are pleasant, absorb perspiration, and resist wear. Surfaces are treated to limit mould and bacteria. Outer seals are also treated against bacteria for hygiene.
Treatment Warning
While selected for quality and wear resistance, interior padding is subject to normal wear based on use, care, and perspiration acidity. Replace worn interior padding for cleanliness and comfort. SHARK suppliers offer replacement parts and cheek pads of different thicknesses.
Maintenance
Interior textile parts are washable. Hand wash cheek pads and head section in warm, soapy water (approx. 30°C). Use mild detergents or household soap. Dry parts completely at room temperature; never iron. For leather-appearance parts or textiles attached to safety elements, use a slightly damp sponge/cloth with household soap and rinse with clean water. Avoid excessive water contact with polystyrene parts. Ensure all interior parts are dry before use.

Easy Fit and SHARKTOOTH System
Easy Fit
The SHARK Vancore is designed to provide additional comfort for eyeglass wearers with the SHARK EASY FIT feature.
SHARKTOOTH System
The helmet is designed to be equipped with the SHARKTOOTH audio system. It features a dedicated location for the battery at the rear (behind neck pad) and a space for the microphone at the front. Headphone cavities are in the cheek pads. The battery is easily rechargeable from the outside.
The SHARKTOOTH® system enables Bluetooth communication for urban, touring, and road riders. It functions as a hands-free bike kit for mobile phones and smartphones and offers bike-to-bike intercom up to 500m. It connects to most mobile devices, features voice activation, automatic volume control, noise reduction, and is waterproof. It supports GPS navigation audio and Stereo Bluetooth® A2DP music streaming.
To use, connect SHARKTOOTH® to an appropriate Bluetooth® device.

Ventilation
SHARK R&D developed a new concept for comfort and ventilation, combining air channels within damping elements and broadcasters in the thermo-compressed cap. This system provides optimal cooling airflow.
Air enters through the upper front ventilation (Fig. A), circulates, and cools the head via integrated diffusers. The quality and design of textile comfort parts aid air dissemination. The position of upper ventilation maximizes air intake effectiveness. Fairings on motorcycles may affect ventilation efficiency.
Ventilation is opened by the rear selector (Fig. A) and closed by moving the selector forward (Fig. B).
