Installation Information

General Requirements

Requires a 5-inch free area between the bottom of the cooktop and any combustible material, such as shelving. This free area is not required when installing a wall oven underneath the cooktop. A minimum of 15 inches clearance is required from the cooktop to adjacent overhead cabinets. Units are furnished with a 48-inch flexible armored cable.

Countertop Cutout and Depth

The countertop cutout requires a minimum of 23-1/2 inches of flat countertop surface and a minimum of 25 inches of total countertop depth. Consideration must also be given to other clearances to the front edge of the countertop.

Installation Above a Wall Oven

When installing above a GE wall oven, a minimum of 31-1/4 inches is required from the top surface of the countertop to the top surface of the wall oven support platform. Maximum depth for unprotected overhead cabinets should be 13 inches, with a minimum clearance of 30 inches from the countertop to unprotected overhead surfaces.

Approximate Cooking Dimensions

This cooktop has overall dimensions of 36-1/8 inches in width and 20-7/16 inches in depth. The recommended countertop cutout width is between 33-7/8 inches and 34 inches, with a depth of 19-1/8 inches to 19-1/4 inches. For accuracy, it is best to make a template when cutting the opening in the counter. Minimum clearances include 2-1/2 inches from the front edge of the countertop to the front edge of the cooktop cutout, 1-3/4 inches minimum to the rear wall, and 2 inches minimum clearance from the cutout to the nearest vertical wall or cabinet on the right side.

Compatibility

The PEP7036DT cooktop is approved for use over select GE 30-inch Single Wall Ovens and Warming Drawers. It is also compatible with smart cookware, allowing smart pans to pair easily for optimal cooking results. Accessories are sold separately.
