Dimensions and Installation Information

IMPORTANT:

• Requires a 5-inch free area between the bottom of the cooktop and any combustible material, such as shelving. This free area is not required when installing a wall oven underneath the cooktop. Refer to the specific installation instructions.
• Requires a 15-inch minimum clearance from the cooktop to adjacent overhead cabinets.
• Units are furnished with a 48-inch flexible armored cable.

NOTE:

• 36-inch Ribbon cooktops are approved for use over select GE 30-inch Single Wall Ovens and Warming Drawers. Always refer to the cooktop and wall oven/warming drawer installation instructions packed with the product for current dimensional data.
• If installing with a GE Telescopic Downdraft System, consult both the cooktop and downdraft installation instructions packed with the product before proceeding. The cooktop's gas/electric supply may need to be re-routed to accommodate the downdraft installation.
• The countertop cutout requires a minimum of 23-1/2 inches of flat countertop surface and a minimum total countertop depth of 25 inches.
• Additional clearances to the front edge of the countertop must also be considered.
• Before installing, consult the installation instructions packed with the product for the most current dimensional data.

Approximate Cooking Dimensions

The diagram illustrates approximate cooking dimensions for the 36-inch cooktop. It shows a top-down view indicating the overall cooktop width of 36 inches and a depth of 20-3/8 inches. Key cutout dimensions are provided: a width of 33-7/8 to 34 inches and a depth of 19-1/8 to 19-1/4 inches. Clearances from the unit and conduit location are noted as 3-9/16 inches at the front and 5-9/16 inches at the conduit location. A minimum clearance of 1-3/4 inches is required to the rear wall. A minimum cutout depth of 2-1/2 inches is also indicated. The text advises making a template for accurate cutting.

Installation Above a Wall Oven Clearances

This diagram details installation clearances when the cooktop is mounted above a wall oven. It specifies a maximum depth for unprotected overhead cabinets at 13 inches. A minimum clearance of 30 inches is required from the countertop surface to any unprotected overhead surface. Side clearances to vertical walls or cabinets are shown: a 2-inch minimum on the left side of the cutout, and 1.5-inch (for 30-inch units) or 2-inch (for 36-inch units) minimum on the right side, measured below the 15-inch minimum clearance height. A 15-inch minimum height clearance is mandated from the countertop to the nearest cabinet, including light rails, on both sides of the cooktop. For installation over a wall oven, a minimum of 31-1/4 inches is required from the top surface of the countertop to the top surface of the wall oven support platform.
