Vehicle Title & Registration Laws

You may need to title and/or register your mini bike with government agencies. You are responsible for all related costs. Keep your Certificate of Origin.

Vehicle Modification Laws

Do not modify the mini bike or attach aftermarket accessories. Modifications to the carburetor and exhaust systems are a violation of the law and subject to prosecution by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Vehicle Maintenance Laws

Always follow relevant vehicle maintenance laws, including those for handling and disposal of flammable materials like gasoline and oil.

Assembly

Package Contents

Your motorcycle comes with the following items in the box:

Getting Started: Assembling

  1. Open the carton and take out the motorcycle.
  2. Set up the handlebar. Take out the aluminum block from the tool bag. Position the handlebar in a comfortable position and tighten the bolts.

Images show parts for handlebar assembly and the process of attaching the handlebar.

Fueling

This is a 4-stroke engine. Only use gasoline #90 or higher. Ensure the engine is off before fueling.

  1. Slowly open the GAS CAP to release any over-pressure.
  2. Clean the tank cap area to remove dirt and debris, ensuring none falls into the gas tank.
  3. After fueling, replace and tighten the GAS CAP.

Starting - Pull Start

Move at least 10 feet away from where you filled up the gas.

  1. Set the CHOKE LEVER to the CHOKED (UP) position.
  2. Pull the RECOIL STARTER briskly, holding the handle. Do not let it snap back; let it return slowly. You may want to give it a little throttle by gently squeezing the GAS LEVER.
  3. It may be necessary to repeat step 6 several times until the motor starts.

When starting the motorcycle for the first time, you may need to pull the starter handle multiple times.

Operation

Riding

  1. Make sure all exposed bolts and screws are tightened.
  2. Raise the kickstand to its upright position.
  3. Ensure the engine is running.
  4. Place one foot on the deck. While pushing off with the other foot, gently rotate the THROTTLE towards the rider on the right handlebar to move the motorcycle. Control speed by rotating the hand throttle.

Braking

  1. To brake, release the hand throttle and depress the hand brake levers on the left side of the handlebars.

Stopping/Shutting Down

  1. Gradually decrease engine speed to idle and turn off the kill switch on the handlebar tube to turn the engine OFF.

Note: Aggressively pulling the lever may stretch the locking spring, preventing the steering from locking. Ensure handlebar locks firmly before riding.

Carburetor Adjustment

[warning icon] Warning: Never start the engine without the complete clutch cover assembled, as the clutch could come loose and cause injuries. The carburetor is pre-adjusted at the factory, but further adjustment may be needed based on climate and altitude.

[warning icon] Warning: When the engine is idling, the motorcycle should not be moving. If it continues to move after idle speed adjustment, contact the service center.

Braking System

The motorcycle uses a rear wheel disc/caliper braking system activated by the left handlebar brake lever. Squeezing the lever activates the rear brake. Release the HAND THROTTLE GRIP when engaging the brakes.

Practice braking on a smooth, dry surface to get accustomed to the system. Braking distance is affected by wet conditions and loose/uneven surfaces.

Adjusting the Brakes

Brakes are typically fully adjusted from the factory, but may require adjustment over time.

  1. With one hand, depress the brake caliper using your thumb and forefinger.
  2. With the other hand, adjust the tension screw on the brake line:
    • Turn the tension screw clockwise to loosen the brake.
    • Turn the tension screw counterclockwise to tighten the brake.

Chain Maintenance

Squeaky Brakes

Brakes may squeak before they are broken in; this is normal and does not affect function. The squeak should disappear with continued use.

Adjusting the Chains

Chains come adjusted from the factory but may need sprocket adjustment over time. The chain must be well-aligned with the sprockets to prevent rubbing and chafing, which shortens chain life.

How tight should the chain be?

Correct tension is achieved when the chain is lightly tense.

To tighten the chains:

  1. Slightly loosen the two axle bolts.
  2. Slowly adjust the two chain adjusting screws on each side of the rear tire until the chain reaches proper tension.
  3. Occasionally rotate the rear tire to ensure chain alignment.
  4. Lock and tighten the rear axle bolts before riding.

Maintenance Schedule

Proper care ensures optimal performance and a longer lifespan. The following are maintenance suggestions:

Daily Maintenance

Perform each time you ride your motorcycle:

Weekly/Monthly Maintenance

Gas Pocket Starting Procedure

To start the motor, three things are needed:

  1. Put gas in the tank. Using an approved container, add at least a ½ gallon of gas.
  2. Move the choke lever to the "on" (up) position (ensure fuel line is free of air).
  3. Pull the recoil starter; the choke should be up to start a cold engine.

When starting for the first time, open the throttle a couple of times to get gas flowing into the carburetor and jets. Do not over-pump, as it may flood the engine (wait 10 minutes to restart if flooded). After the engine "pops," give it a little throttle and allow it to idle until warm. After warming up, turn off the choke, ride off slowly, and check tire inflation and all systems.
