General Information and Warnings
Please observe national guidelines concerning official approval of extensions.
Any alteration or conversion of the tow bar is prohibited and will result in the cancellation of the type approval.
Remove insulating compound or underseal (if present) from the vehicle's mating surfaces for the tow bar.
The tow bar is designed for towing trailers fitted with ball couplings and for use with load-bearing implements approved for attachment to the tow bar. Any other use is prohibited.
Vehicles equipped with parking assistance systems may experience malfunctions after tow bar installation, as parts (ball bar, ball coupling) might be within the sensors' detection area. In such cases, the detection area should be adjusted or the parking assistance deactivated. Malfunctions are not expected when using tow bars with detachable or pivoted ball bars if the ball bar is removed from its operating position.
Subject to alteration.

Installation Procedure
The following steps describe the installation process, referencing diagrams:
-
Step 1: Accessing Mounting Points
Diagrams show the rear of the VW Jetta and Golf Variant, indicating the general areas on the chassis where the tow bar will be mounted.
-
Step 2: Bumper Modification Preparation
Diagrams illustrate the removal of rear bumper sections to access mounting points. It also details the necessary modifications to the bumper, including cutting specific shapes indicated by dimensions like R25, 95mm, 85mm, 110mm, and Y0, to accommodate the tow bar neck and ball.
-
Step 3: Positioning and Initial Attachment
Diagrams show the tow bar unit being positioned against the vehicle's chassis mounting points. It shows the attachment using bolts (M10x35) and nuts, with a torque specification of M10x35 = 55 Nm.
-
Step 4: Securing the Tow Bar
Additional mounting points are shown secured with bolts (M10x35) and nuts (10.5x30x3), repeating the torque specification M10x35 = 55 Nm.
-
Step 5: Final Tow Bar Attachment
The main tow bar structure is shown attached to the vehicle chassis.
-
Step 6: Bumper Reassembly
The modified bumper is shown being reattached to the vehicle.
-
Step 7: Attaching the Ball Hitch
The ball hitch assembly (parts 1, 2, 6, 7) is shown being attached to the main tow bar structure using bolts (M12x65), with a torque specification of M12x65 = 95 Nm.
Technical Specifications and Clearance
Clearance Requirements: Ensure clearance according to Appendix VII, Diagram 30 of Directive 94/20/EC. This includes specific angular and distance requirements around the tow ball.
Vehicle Weight Definitions:
- At gross vehicle weight rating
- At permissible total weight of the vehicle
- At towing capacity
Diagram illustrates clearance requirements around the tow ball, specifying angles (e.g., max. 45°, min. 45°, max. 30°) and distances (e.g., min. 32mm, min. 55mm, min. 65mm, min. 75mm, min. 140mm, 350-420mm). It also lists vehicle weight definitions in multiple languages, corresponding to 'gross vehicle weight rating' and 'permissible total weight of the vehicle'.
Declaration of Correct Installation
This section is a declaration by the installer confirming that the tow bar system has been installed correctly according to the manufacturer's specifications and attachment points. It requires the installer's company stamp and signature.
It also states that the vehicle user has been informed about the use and maintenance of the device.
