Installation Procedure

  1. Step 1: Access the underside of the vehicle. Locate and potentially remove a panel indicated by an arrow [arrow-down].
  2. Step 2: Remove a section of the rear bumper. This operation requires two people [two-people].
  3. Step 3: Identify the mounting points on the vehicle's chassis. Arrows indicate where the tow bar brackets will attach.
  4. Step 4: Prepare the main tow bar assembly. The tow ball mount (U) is shown, along with a torque wrench and a specification of 8 Nm [torque-wrench] 8 Nm.
  5. Step 5: Attach the mounting brackets (Y) to the vehicle chassis using the specified fasteners. Arrows indicate the correct orientation.
  6. Step 6: Insert protective sleeves or clips into designated holes on the chassis.
  7. Step 7: Apply protective tape or material to wiring harnesses to prevent damage during installation.

  16. Step 16: Tighten all fasteners to the specified torque values:
    • Fasteners labeled '1': 25 Nm [torque-wrench] 25 Nm
    • Fasteners labeled '2': 40 Nm [torque-wrench] 40 Nm
    • Fasteners labeled '3': 110 Nm [torque-wrench] 110 Nm
  17. Step 17: Install the tow ball assembly (U) and tighten its fasteners to 110 Nm [torque-wrench] 110 Nm.
  18. Step 18: Cut a section from the vehicle's rear bumper to accommodate the tow bar. This is indicated by a jigsaw [jigsaw] and a symbol for discarding the cut piece [waste-bin].
  19. Step 19: Further trimming or modification of the bumper may be required.
