4. Panel Descriptions
The front panel features:
- 1 LCD: Displays Matrix information.
- 2 Input buttons: OUT1~8.
- 3 Output buttons: IN1~8.
- 4 Function buttons: DSP OFF, MENU, UP, DOWN, LOCK, ENTER.
DSP OFF Functionality: Short press output N, then press DSP OFF to turn off the output. Long press Output 8 to select all outputs, then press DSP OFF to turn off all outputs.
The rear panel features:
- 1 AC 100-240V power port
- 2 IR in port x7 & IR EYE
- 3 IR out port x8 & All out
- 4 RS232; TCP/IP control port
- 5 FW USB port
- 6 Audio output port (8-SPDIF & LR Analog)
- 7 HDMI Input x8
- 8 HDBaseT out x7 & HDMI out
4.1 Input / output channel key operation
Channel | Button method |

Any Key | The first operation of the button can wake up the screen. |
Input 1-8 | Directly press the number key (e.g., input channel 1), and select "1" to press. The input channel number is valid only when the output port is selected. |
Output 1-8 | Directly press the number key (e.g., output channel 5), select the key "5" and press it again to cancel the selection. Long press output channel 8 to select all channels, and long press again to cancel. |
MENU | Function Button; Enter the function option or back to the previous option. |
ENTER | Confirm Button; Enter function selection mode. |
UP | Button for UP option. |
DOWN | Button for NEXT option. |
DSP OFF | Shut down the current selected output. |
LOCK | Long press lock (button built-in blue light on). Long press again to cancel lock (button built-in blue light off). |
4.2 Video switching operation
4.2.1 Video switch
The signal switch includes 8 free switching channels, which can be configured as input/output according to requirements, forming a matrix of 1 x 8 ~ 8 x 1. It can switch any input signal to 1 channel output or all channel outputs.
Operation format: "output channel" + "input channel".
Example: Output ports 2, 5, 8 switch to input 7. Operation: Press OUT numbers "2" "5" "8" + IN number "7" to complete the switch.
4.2.2 Video Control
The video interface has two sub-menus:
- Video Switch
- Video On/Off
To switch video:
- Select "Video" in the menu and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “Switching” and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select the output (the ninth port means ALL) and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select the input and press “ENTER” to Switch Done.
To control Video On/Off:
- Select "Video" in the menu and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “On/Off” and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select the output (the ninth port means ALL) and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select "On" or "Off" and press “ENTER” to Switch Done.
4.2.3 Audio Separation
The Audio Control has NINE sub-menus:
- Out 1 ~ Out 8
- Mute (Default)
Operation: Audio interface can be set to output Audio (Analog or SPDIF), then choose Audio output or mute.
Instructions:
- Select "Audio" from the main menu and press "ENTER" to confirm.
- Use the up and down buttons to select "Out" or "Mute" and press "ENTER" to confirm. The bottom of the selected state will turn white with white dots at the back.
4.3 EDID Set Mode Interface

EDID Modes: Default EDID, User EDID, Copy EDID, Copy HDBT EDID.
Instructions:
- Select "EDID" in the menu and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select the input (The “In9” means ALL input) and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select the MODE and press “ENTER” to select the EDID.
- After confirming EDID, specific information of the EDID (resolution, audio, EDID mode) will be displayed.
User EDID: User1~8 means the user's EDID. A total of 8 EDID can be saved.
Copy EDID: HDMI01>>01 means copy output HDMI01's EDID; HDBT01>>01 means copy HDBT01's EDID.
4.4 SETUP mode Interface
SETUP mode allows setting the device's RS-232 baud rate, DHCP, Reboot, and Factory settings.
1. RS-232 Baud Rate setting
The device supports 7 baud rates: 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200. Default Baud Rate is 115200.
Instructions:
- Select "Setup" in the menu and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “BAUD” and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select the baud rate and press “ENTER” to confirm.
2. DHCP On/Off setting (Default OFF)
On means Dynamic; Off means Static.
Instructions:
- Select "Setup" in the menu and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “DHCP” and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “On” or “Off” and press “ENTER” to confirm.
3. Reboot setting
Instructions:
- Select "Setup" in the menu and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “Reboot” and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “No” or “Yes” and press “ENTER” to confirm.
4. Factory setting
Instructions:
- Select "Setup" in the menu and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “Factory” and press “ENTER”.
- Use “UP” / “DOWN” buttons to select “No” or “Yes” and press “ENTER” to confirm.
4.5 INFO mode Interface
Check the device information: IP or System information.
5. Application Diagram
The diagram illustrates the connection of the J-Tech Digital HDMI Matrix Extender with sources, displays, IR extenders, and control systems. It shows the physical layout of the front and rear panels, including all input and output ports.
6. Remote Control Description
The remote control provides the following functions:
- 1 Standby Mode
- 2 Lock or Unlock the Panel Button
- 3 Choose output from 1-8
- 4 Choose all the outputs.
- 5 X: Turn on/off output port which you select
- 6 PTP button: Mirror all inputs and outputs (e.g., Input 1 to output 1, input 2 to output 2, etc.)
- 7 Choose input from 1-8
- 8 Menu (back to previous option) button
- 9 UP and DOWN button
- 10 Enter button
7. IR system
The matrix can pass the IR signal through the IR system to the HDMI source or pass the IR signal from the HDMI source to the HDMI sink.
Dual way IR using:
- Step 1: “IR IN” is for HDBaseT output, “IR OUT” is for input channel.
- Step 2: “IR IN EYE” Controlled by all input IR; “IR OUT ALL” Controlled by all output IR.
- Step 3: HDBaseT receiver support connect with IR receiver to control the Matrix by remote.
- Step 4: Matrix IR channel “IR IN EYE” support connect with IR-RX cable to control the Matrix by remote.
8. Command Control
The serial control software (e.g., SSCOM32) can be used for command control. Basic settings involve installing the RS232 software and configuring the serial port parameters. The manual provides a list of commands for controlling video, audio, EDID, IP settings, and more.
Example Command: Output5 switch to input 6 channel off: #video_d out5 matrix=6 onoff=0
9. Web Control
9.1. Change the IP address of your PC.
Steps:
- Connect the Ethernet port of the matrix to the PC using a crossover cable.
- Configure your PC's network settings: Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings. Select the network adapter, click Properties, then Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties.
- Set a static IP address for your PC in the range of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.255 (excluding 192.168.1.168). Set the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and the Default gateway to 192.168.1.1.
9.2. Enter Web and Control.
Steps:
- Enter the default IP address of the matrix (192.168.1.168) in your web browser.
- Log in using the default username "admin" and password "admin".
Web Interface Description:
- VIDEO Interface: Allows output selection and video switching. You can select outputs and then inputs to complete the switch. A blue box indicates a connected signal source or TV.
- AUDIO Interface: Allows control of output audio, with options to output all or mute all.
- EDID Interface: Manages EDID settings, including default EDID options, user EDID, and copying EDID from other sources.
- Network Interface: Displays network information such as Mac address, IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. DHCP settings can be modified when DHCP is off.
- System Interface: Allows changing the logged-in user name and password. The matrix has 5 default accounts with different permission levels.
10. RS232 Pass through
The matrix can send RS232 data to control receivers and receive RS232 data from receivers using RS232 commands. Refer to the command list in the manual for details.
11. RS232 Online upgrading Firmware
Instructions for firmware upgrade:
- Use serial port upgrade mode.
- Connect the device to a computer via RS232/Micro USB and open the upgrade software. Click "Refresh" to refresh the serial number.
- Select the correct COM port connected to the product.
- Set the baud rate consistent with the host baud rate (default 115200).
- Select the upgrade file for download.
- Click "Update" to start the upgrade.
- A "Succeed" message will prompt upon successful completion.
Note: Disconnect HDMI/HDBT input and export before burning. If the upgrade progress bar stops, reboot the host and then attempt the serial port upgrade again.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using alcohol, paint thinner, or benzine.
PRODUCT SERVICE
- Damage requiring service: Service by qualified personnel is required if the DC power cord or AC adapter is damaged, objects or liquids have entered the unit, the unit has been exposed to rain, it does not operate normally, or the cabinet is damaged.
- Servicing Personnel: Do not attempt to service the unit beyond the instructions provided. Refer all other servicing to authorized personnel.
- Replacement parts: Ensure that replacement parts have the same characteristics as the original parts to avoid hazards like fire or electric shock.
- Safety check: After repairs, perform safety checks to confirm the unit is in proper working condition.
WARRANTY
J-Tech Digital warrants this product against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 2 Years for Parts and 90 Days for Labor from the date of original purchase. The company will, at its option, repair or replace the product with new or refurbished parts or products. Mail-in service is required during the warranty period. This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and requires proof of original purchase.
MAIL-IN SERVICE
When shipping the unit, pack it carefully and send it prepaid, adequately insured, and preferably in the original carton. Include a letter detailing the complaint and a daytime phone number and/or email address.
LIMITED WARRANTY LIMITS AND EXCLUSIONS:
- This Limited Warranty covers failures due to defects in materials or workmanship only. It does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, damage from shipment, or failures caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, faulty installation, improper maintenance, power surges, lightning damage, or unauthorized service.
- There are no express warranties except as listed. The warrantor is not liable for incidental or consequential damages.
- Parts and service not covered by this limited warranty are the responsibility of the customer.
