- Cleaning - Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table recommended by the manufacturer, or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer's instructions, and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer. A product and cart combination should be moved with care - quick stops, excessive force and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn.
- Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- This appliance shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing water and that no object filled with liquids such as vases shall be placed on the apparatus.
- Do not overload wall outlets. Use only power sources as indicated.
- Use replacement parts as specified by the manufacturer.
- The product may be mounted to a wall only if recommended by the manufacturer.
- Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks.
- Power Sources - This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company. For products intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.
- Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.
- Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions: a) When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, b) If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product, c) If the product has been exposed to rain or water, d) If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation. e) If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way, and f) When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance - this indicates a need for service.

ON PROTECTION AGAINST LASER ENERGY EXPOSURE
- As the laser beam used in this compact disc player is harmful to the eyes, do not attempt to disassemble the casing.
- Stop operation immediately if any liquid or solid object should fall into the cabinet.
- Do not touch the lens or poke at it. If you do, you may damage the lens and the player may not operate properly.
- Do not put anything in the safety slot. If you do, the laser diode will be ON when the CD door is still open.
- If the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, make sure that all power sources are disconnected from the unit. Remove all batteries from the battery compartment.
- This unit employs a laser. The use of controls or adjustment or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in exposure to hazardous radiation.
Should any trouble occur, remove the power source and refer servicing to qualified personnel.

IMPORTANT NOTES
Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:
- Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such as electric heaters.
- Dusty places.
- Places subject to constant vibration.
- Humid or moist places.
POWER SOURCES
The unit operates on 120V ~ 60Hz or 8 x DC 1.5V "C" (UM-2) batteries. Do not attempt to operate the radio on any other power source. You could cause damage to the unit and void your warranty. Please be sure the power outlet you plug the unit into is working and receives constant power.
AC OPERATION
- When the AC power cord (included) is connected to the AC Power Socket on the back of the unit and the other end is plugged into a 120 V AC 60 Hz wall outlet, the unit will disconnect the batteries automatically, and operate on AC Power only.
- Convert the FUNCTION button to "CD" or "RADIO" or "TAPE" or "AUX".
BATTERY OPERATION
- Remove the BATTERY DOOR.
- Install 8 x DC 1.5V "C" (UM-2) batteries (not included) according to the polarity diagram inside the battery compartment.
- Close the BATTERY DOOR.
IMPORTANT: Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity may damage the unit and void the warranty. For best performance and longer operating time, we recommend the use of good quality alkaline-type batteries.
CAUTION
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
- If the unit is not to be used for an extended period of time, remove the battery. Old or leaking battery can cause damage to the unit and may void the warranty.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire; batteries may explode or leak.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the output sound of this unit becomes distorted or the CD player operation appears unstable, the batteries are weak. You need to replace all the exhausted batteries at the same time as soon as possible to avoid battery leakage.
RADIO OPERATION
- Press the Power Button to start up; FM will be the default function, and the LCD will display 87.5 MHz.
- Search stations: Hold down SKIP +/- to auto scan, and it will stop once a station is found. You can also press SKIP +/- once to search stations manually.
- Preset stations: Take 100.8 MHz for example, hold down the PROGRAM button while listening. The LCD will begin to blink "MEM" and display "P01" at the same time. Then press SKIP +/- to choose, for example, "P05" to store the station. Press the PROGRAM button again to confirm. Finally, 100.8 MHz is saved into "P05". You can save up to 20 stations for each FM and AM.
- Obtain stations: Press the PROGRAM button once, and press SKIP +/- to choose the saved stations that you want to listen to.
- Press the MODE button once; it will automatically scan and save the stations that are able to be received.
- Press the BAND button, then convert to AM.
CD OPERATION
- STOP
Press the STOP button to stop the CD from playing. - PLAY/PAUSE
1) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to play the CD. The LCD shows the track "00" and the CD playing icon.
2) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause CD playing. The LCD will display the track "00" and the CD playing icon. - SKIP+ Button
1) Press the SKIP+ Button to skip to the next song.
2) Hold down the SKIP+ Button for more than 2 seconds to fast forward the track number. - SKIP- Button
1) Press the SKIP- Button to go to the previous song.
2) Hold down the SKIP- Button for more than 2 seconds to rewind the track number.
Once you skip backward to the beginning of the song, it will automatically start playing. - MODE button (While in CD operation)
1) Press the MODE button once; it will repeat the one song that is playing. The LCD display will read "REP".
2) Press the MODE button twice; it will repeat all the tracks. The LCD display will read "REP ALL".
3) Press the MODE button three times; it will enter into random playing mode. The LCD display will read "RAND".
4) Press the MODE button four times, and the function will cancel. - PROGRAM button (When you are in CD mode, but are not playing the CD)
1) When you are not playing a CD, press the PROGRAM button. The LCD will display "P01" and "PROG" will flash.
2) Press SKIP +/- to select the song to be programmed.
3) Press the PROGRAM button to store your selection.
4) You may repeat steps 1-3 to program up to 20 tracks.
5) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to play the programmed songs.
AUX IN OPERATION
- Press the FUNCTION button to convert to AUX mode.
- The LCD will display "AUX".
- Insert the external signal jack into the AUX-IN jack, and then the unit will work as a speaker.
TAPE OPERATION
- Open the cassette cover by pressing the STOP/EJECT BUTTON. Insert the cassette tape, bottom side up with the tape facing you. Close the cover; the unit is now ready for operation.
- Pause
Press the PAUSE BUTTON to stop the tape travel during recording or playback. Press the pause button a second time to resume play or recording. - Automatic Stop (Auto Stop)
When the cassette tape that is being played or recorded on reaches the end of the tape, the unit will power off. - Fast Forwarding and Rewind
To fast forward or to rewind the tape, press the FFWD or REWIND BUTTON. Press the STOP/EJECT BUTTON to stop the moving tape at the desired location. - Play Back
(1) Install a Cassette Tape.
(2) Set the FUNCTION to TAPE.
(3) Press the PLAY BUTTON.
(4) Adjust the VOLUME CONTROL to the desired sound level. - Recording
Install a cassette as described before.
Press the RECORD BUTTON.
To record from the Radio, convert the FUNCTION button to the radio position.
To record from CD, convert the FUNCTION button to CD.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
- Children should be supervised when using this appliance.
- Never wrap the earphone lead around any animal or person. Special care should be taken with long wires.
- Clean the unit with a damp (never wet) cloth. Solvents or detergents should never be used.
- Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight, hot or humid environments, or in dusty places.
- Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors.
- If drop-outs or interruptions occur in the music while you are playing a CD, or if the CD fails to play at all, its bottom surface may require cleaning. Before playing, wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cleaning cloth.

90 day Warranty
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace it with a similar one of equal or greater value. Prior to a replacement being sent, the product must be rendered inoperable or returned to us.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as on the specified rating on the label (e.g., 120V ~ 60Hz).
We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states or provinces do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.
