Safety Precautions

The light flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, alerts the user to the presence of uninsulated 'dangerous voltage' within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle alerts the user to important operation and servicing instructions in the accompanying literature.

Caution: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.

Main Features

Main Unit Controls

The unit features a 10.1-inch LCD screen. The controls and ports are distributed across the front, sides, and back.

Front View: Features speaker grilles and control buttons.

Side/Back View: Includes various ports and a bracket.

Numbered Controls and Ports:

Note: The monitor view on page 7 shows similar controls: 1. Power ON/OFF, 2. Volume knob, 3. Earphone jack, 4. AV IN, 5. DC IN, 6. Bracket, 7. Rating Label Position.

System Connection

Powering And Installation

Using AC Power: Plug one end of the AC power Wall adapter into the DC IN 12V jack on the right of the machine, then plug the other end into the AC power receptacle.

Using DC Car Adapter: Plug one end of the DC power car adapter into the DC IN 12V jack on the unit, then plug the other end into the car cigarette lighter socket.

Note: The DC power car adapter is available for use only with car cigarette lighters that have DC 12V negative grounding. The mains plug serves as the disconnect device and should remain readily operable.

Connecting To The Monitor

The unit can be connected to an external LCD monitor. Connect the unit to power using the AC power Wall adapter or DC power car adapter. Then, connect the unit's DC OUT jack to the external LCD Monitor's DC IN 12V Jack using a DC/AV cable. Also, use this DC/AV cable to connect the unit's AV OUT jack to the Monitor's AV IN jack.

In Car Installation

1. Fitting the straps to the DVD Player / Monitor: Please install the units with strap A (long) and strap B (short) together.

Recommendation: Be sure to complete the installation then use the units in the car. For units installation, it is recommended that the DVD Player is on the LEFT headrest to ensure a neat cable run to the monitor.

Connecting With External Speaker

This section describes how to connect the DVD player to an external audio system. The diagram shows the unit connecting via AV CABLE (not supplied) to a TV and an AMPLIFIER. The amplifier is then connected to a 5.1 speaker system including Left front speaker, Center speaker, Right front speaker, Subwoofer, Left rear speaker, and Right rear speaker.

Note: There is no 5.1 channel in the unit, however, after connecting to APM (Amplifier/Processor/Modulator) it is available to output audio in 5.1 channel.

Basic Operation

Playing Disc (DVD, CD, MP3)

  1. Connect the unit to the power.
  2. Open the unit and adjust the monitor to the best position for viewing.
  3. Turn on the unit by sliding the ON/OFF switch to ON.
  4. Open the disc door and insert a disc with the label side facing up.
  5. Close the disc door. The unit will load the disc and start playing.
  6. During playback, press [Play/Pause Symbol] to pause; press it again to resume playback.
  7. When playing disc of DVD, CD, press [Fast Forward Symbol] to search forward. Press it repeatedly to play at 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 times speed. Press [Fast Backward Symbol] to search backward. Press it repeatedly to play at 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 times speed.
  8. When playback is finished, insert USB/SD, press and hold the 'FUNCTION' button to switch to USB/SD. Please turn off the power by sliding the ON/OFF switch to OFF when done.

Virtual Remote Operation

Press the 'FUNCTION' button when a disc is playing to see a virtual remote control on the screen.

Virtual Remote Functions:

Playing JPEG File

  1. Place a JPEG disc into the tray; the unit will start reading and playing.
  2. Press [Fast Forward/Backward Symbols] to select a JPEG file from the menu, then press [Play/Pause Symbol] to play it.
  3. Press [Fast Forward Symbol] to rotate the picture clockwise.
  4. Press [Fast Backward Symbol] to reverse the picture horizontally and press [Play/Pause Symbol] to reverse the picture vertically.

Function Operation Toolbar: Press 'FUNCTION' key to see the toolbar.

Play MP3 File

  1. Place an MP3 disc into the disc door.
  2. Press [Fast Forward/Backward Symbols] to select the file; Press [Play/Pause Symbol] to play the selected file.

Function Operation: Press 'FUNCTION' to see the toolbar.

System Setup

When no disc is inserted, press the 'FUNCTION' button to display the main menu.

General Setup Page

In the General Setup Page, press [Arrow Down Key] to highlight an item, press [Entry Key] to access, press [Arrow Keys] to select the setting, press [Enter/OK Symbol] to confirm your selection, and press [Return Key] to exit.

Setting Options Description
TV Display Wide, Normal/PS, Normal/LB Set screen display format. Default is "Wide". The function depends on the display ratio of the DVD disc. Choose "Wide (16:9)" for 16:9 widescreen TV sets.
Angle Mark On, Off Set the angle during playback. Default is On.
OSD Language English Set OSD menu language. Default is English.
Screen Saver On, Off Set whether to activate the screen saver function. Default is ON.
Text to Speech On, Off Set Text to Speech option. Default is Off.

Video Setup Page

In the Video Setup Page, press [Arrow Down Key] to highlight an item, press [Entry Key] to access, press [Arrow Keys] to select the setting, press [Enter/OK Symbol] to confirm your selection, and press [Return Key] to exit.

Setting Options Description
TV Type NTSC, PAL Select TV type. Default is NTSC.
Panel Quality (NTSC/PAL options shown) Set the Video Quality of PANEL.

Preference Page

In the Preference Page, press [Arrow Down Key] to highlight an item, press [Entry Key] to access, press [Arrow Keys] to select the setting, press [Enter/OK Symbol] to confirm your selection, and press [Return Key] to exit.

Setting Options Description
Audio ENG, English Select preferred audio language for DVDs. Default is English. (Note: Audio language depends on the material on each disc. User can also change audio language during playback by pressing the Audio button.)
Subtitle Off, ENG Select preferred language to show subtitles. Default is OFF. (Subtitle languages depend on information available on each disc. You can also change subtitle language during playback by pressing the SUBTITLE button.)
Disc Menu ENG, English Choose the menu language stored on the disc. Default is English. (Note: Disc menu languages depend on the information available on the disc.)
Parental 1 KID SAFE, 2 G, 3 PG, 4 PG 13, 5 PGR, 6 R, 7 NC 17, 8 ADULT Set parental control level for unsuitable disc scenes. Default is ADULT. Make continuously pressing "FUNCTION" button 4 times to be the password.
Default Reset Select this item and press [Play/Pause Symbol] button to reset all settings to the original factory settings.

Troubleshooting

PROBLEM SOLUTION
No sound or distorted sound Make sure the machine is connected properly. Make sure all cables are securely inserted into the appropriate jacks.
Can't advance through a movie You can't advance through the opening credits and warning information that appears at the beginning of movies because the disc is programmed to prohibit that action.
The icon [Restricted Feature Icon] appears on screen The feature or action cannot be completed at this time because:
1. The disc's software restricts it.
2. The disc's software doesn't support the feature (e.g., angles).
3. The feature is not available at the moment.
4. You've requested a title or chapter number that is out of range.
Display shows-"No disk" after inserting DVD 1. Check to see if you may have inserted a blank disc.
2. Remove disk and check to ensure that disc is clean and not scratched.
3. Check to see if you may have inserted a disc that has not yet been finalized.
4. Check to see if you may have inserted the disc correctly; please remove and try to insert disc correctly.
5. Try to play the original DVD disk. Please note that some DVD players cannot recognize improperly burned disks.
6. Use a lens cleaning disk or gently wipe the laser pickup lens with a dry microfiber cloth.
Picture is distorted The disc might be damaged. Try another disc; it is normal for some distortion to appear during forward or reverse scan.
No forward or reverse scan Some discs have sections that prohibit rapid scanning or chapter skip; if you try to skip through the warning information and credits at the beginning of a movie, you won't be able to. This part of the movie is often programmed to prohibit skipping through it.
Not reading disc 1. Check to see if the disc you are playing is compatible with your unit.
2. This unit is compatible with discs of DVD, VCD, MP3, CD, JPEG, etc.
3. This unit is not compatible with Blu-ray.

90 days Warranty: This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or component found to be defective, at our option. However, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace it with a similar one of equal or greater value. Prior to a replacement being sent, the product must be rendered inoperable or returned to us.

This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as specified on the label (e.g., 120V~60Hz).
