Merlin E148M Four Button Wireless Wall Mount Remote Control
User Guide and Programming Instructions
Product Overview
The Merlin Four Button Wireless Wall Mount Remote Control (Model E148M) is designed to operate Merlin garage door openers. It is compatible with both Merlin Security+ and Security+ 2.0 coding systems, offering dual functionality. The remote features four buttons, each of which can be programmed to work with either coding system.
Programming - Merlin Security+ 2.0 Door Opener Systems
The remote is pre-configured for Merlin Security+ 2.0 systems. For EVO door opener models using this code, follow the standard programming procedure:
- Press and hold the desired button on the remote control.
- Press and release the 'LEARN' button on your garage door opener.
- Release the button on the remote control when the opener's light flashes.
Once these steps are completed, the code is learned, and the next press of the programmed remote button should activate the door.
Visual Description: The process involves pressing a button on the remote until its LED indicator flashes continuously, then briefly pressing the 'LEARN' button on the opener. The opener's light will flash or emit two clicks to confirm the code has been learned.
Programming - Merlin Security+ Door Opener Systems
To program the remote for Merlin Security+ systems, follow this unique sequence:
- Enter programming mode on the remote by pressing and holding both the left and right buttons simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds, or until the remote's LED indicator stays on continuously.
- Within 30 seconds, press and release the 'LEARN' button on your garage door opener.
- Select the button on the remote you wish to program and press it once. If the opener's light flashes, the code has been learned. If not, press the same remote button again until the opener's light flashes. Do not press this button further once the code is learned.
- Press any one of the other three buttons on the remote. This action locks the code into the selected button (from step 3) and turns off the remote's LED.
- The next press of the programmed button should activate the door. If it does not, repeat the entire process.
Note: To revert a programmed button back to a Security+ 2.0 code, repeat the Security+ 2.0 programming sequence.
Visual Description: The programming involves a specific button combination on the remote to activate its programming mode, followed by interacting with the opener's 'LEARN' button and then confirming the code with another remote button press.

- Remove the old battery. Please dispose of used batteries responsibly.
- Insert a new CR2032 coin cell battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing upwards. Only use CR2032 coin cell batteries for replacement.

Additional Button Functionality
