Product Overview
The Orbit SunMate® Single-Port Digital Timer is designed for easy outdoor hose faucet control, allowing you to automate your watering schedule. It features simple programming for clock, start time, watering duration, and frequency, along with a rain delay function and manual watering option.
The timer face displays "6:00" and features a dial with the following positions for programming: SET CLOCK, START TIME, HOW LONG, HOW OFTEN, AUTO, RAIN DELAY, MANUAL, RESET, and OFF. Buttons for '+' (advance), '-' (reverse), 'RESET', and 'MANUAL' are located below the display.
Getting Started
Installing the Batteries
- Slide out the battery tray from the back of the timer.
- Insert two AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries (not included).
- Replace the tray.
- Replace batteries when the low battery icon appears on the display.
Note: Used or dead batteries must be removed and disposed of properly. Remove batteries at the end of the watering season and replace them with new ones at the beginning of the next season.
Installation
Attach the timer to an outdoor hose faucet and turn it on after programming.
Programming the Timer
Rotate the dial to the desired position for setup.
Setting the Clock
- Press the [+] button to advance the clock time. Hold the button for quick advance.
- Press the [-] button to reverse the clock time. Hold the button for quick reverse.
Setting the Start Time
- Press the [+] button to advance the start time. Hold the button for quick advance.
- Press the [-] button to reverse the start time. Hold the button for quick reverse.
Setting Watering Duration (How Long)
Set watering duration from 1 to 240 minutes using the [+] and [-] buttons.
Setting Watering Frequency (How Often)
Set watering frequency as every 6 hours, 12 hours, or from 1 to 7 days. Use the [+] and [-] buttons. '1' means every day, '2' means every other day, up to '7' for every seventh day.
Auto Mode
When set to AUTO, the timer waters according to the programmed time, duration, and frequency.
Rain Delay
- When in AUTO mode, press the [+] button to set a rain delay for 24, 48, or 72 hours.
- The screen will flash between the current clock time and the remaining hours before the programmed cycle resumes.
- To remove rain delay, turn the dial to [OFF] and then back to [AUTO].
Manual/Hand Watering
- To water without interrupting the set cycle, press the [MANUAL] button.
- Use the [+] and [-] buttons to set the duration from 1 to 240 minutes.
- To stop manual watering, turn the dial to [OFF].
- To resume the programmed cycle, turn the dial back to [AUTO].
Troubleshooting
Water Does Not Come On at Desired Time
Check if:
- The clock is set to the correct time (including AM and PM).
- The start time is set to the desired time (including AM and PM).
- Rain Delay is active.
Timer Does Not Water
Check if:
- The timer is set to [AUTO].
- The hose faucet is open.
- Batteries are low.
- The clock is set to the correct time (including AM and PM).
- Rain Delay is active.
Water Won't Turn Off
Check if:
- The watering duration is set to the desired time.
