Important Safeguards

Fire and electric shock are present in all electrical appliances. Read this manual and follow the safety precautions below:

  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use heat-resistant pads until the appliance cools.
  3. Do not use components from non-designated manufacturers.

  5. Unplug the appliance when cleaning and not in use. Ensure parts are completely cooled before cleaning.
  6. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
  7. During operation, certain components are very hot. Limit contact to handles or knobs.
  8. When removing the plug, grasp the plug itself, not the cord.
  9. Do not let the power cord hang over a table edge or place it on a hot surface.
  10. Do not place the appliance near inflammable gases or electric furnaces, or inside a hot oven.
  11. Do not use a metal cleaning brush for cleaning.
  12. Keep this appliance away from children under 8 years of age.
  13. Do not move the appliance when it contains hot oil or other hot liquids.
  14. Do not use outdoors. Do not use appliances for other purposes.
  15. Do not cover the appliance with towels or other articles to ensure heat and steam flow. Covering may cause fire.
  16. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  17. The main unit of the appliance should not be washed in water. Use a cloth to clean, preventing water from entering the main unit to avoid short circuits or damage.
  18. Be aware of hot steam generated during operation. Take measures to prevent injury.
  19. The appliance cannot be operated by an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  20. This appliance is suitable for household and similar purposes.
  21. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause injuries.
  22. Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off," then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  23. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, the plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet in only one way. If the plug does not fit fully, reverse it. If it still does not work, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug.
  24. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of entanglement. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the appliance's rating. Ensure the cord is arranged so it cannot be pulled on by children or tripped over.
