Safety Instructions

Important Safety Information: Always adhere to the following safety instructions to prevent hazards and ensure safe operation.

  • Read the entire manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
  • Do not connect the appliance if it has been damaged during transport.
  • Use the appliance only for its intended purpose: extracting cooking vapours in private households within enclosed rooms, up to an altitude of 2000 m above sea level.
  • Do not use with external timer switches.
  • Children aged 8 and over, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, may use the appliance if supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the associated hazards.
  • Children must not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, except by those aged 15 and over under supervision.
  • Keep children younger than 8 away from the appliance and its power cable.

Hazards and Warnings:

  • Risk of Suffocation: Keep packaging material away from children. Do not let children play with packaging material. Small parts can be inhaled or swallowed.
  • Risk of Poisoning: Ensure adequate ventilation when using the appliance simultaneously with open-flame fuel-burning appliances (e.g., gas stoves). Back-draught from chimneys can cause poisoning. Consult a chimney sweep for proper ventilation. Recirculation mode operation is possible without restrictions.
  • Risk of Fire: Grease deposits in the grease filters can ignite. Never operate the appliance without grease filters. Clean grease filters regularly. Do not work with open flames (e.g., flambé) near the appliance. Do not install near solid fuel appliances unless they have a closed, non-removable cover and no sparks can escape. Hot oil and fat ignite quickly. Never extinguish burning oil or fat with water.
  • Risk of Burns: Accessible parts become hot during operation. Do not touch hot parts. Keep children away. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
  • Risk of Injury: Internal components may have sharp edges. Clean the interior carefully. Do not place objects on the appliance; they may fall off.
  • Risk of Electric Shock: Penetrating moisture can cause electric shock. Do not use wet sponges or steam cleaners. Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning. Do not pull the power cord to disconnect; pull the plug. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified personnel.
  • Risk of Explosion: Highly alkaline or acidic cleaning agents combined with aluminium parts can cause an explosion. Do not use such agents.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Modifications: Do not make any electrical or mechanical modifications to the appliance.
  • LED Lighting: Do not look directly into the LED light for extended periods (over 100 seconds) as it can be very bright and potentially damage eyesight.

Product Description and Operation

The control panel allows you to set all functions and obtain information about the operating status.

  • Fan Speed Adjustment: The appliance does not need to be switched on and off separately. If multiple buttons are pressed, the highest selected fan speed is always active. Use buttons 1, 2, or 3 to select fan speeds 1, 2, or 3 respectively.
  • Lighting: The lighting can be switched on and off independently of the fan. Press the lighting button.

Operating Modes:

  • Extraction Mode: Air is cleaned by grease filters and ducted outside. Air must not be discharged into a chimney used for combustion gases from fuel-burning appliances. If discharging air into a chimney or flue not in use, obtain consent from the relevant chimney sweep. Telescopic wall ducts can be used for external wall discharge.
  • Recirculation Mode: Air is cleaned by grease and charcoal filters and returned to the room. A charcoal filter must be installed to capture odours. Information on recirculation mode options is available in catalogues or from specialist retailers.

Cleaning and Care

To keep your appliance in good condition, clean and care for it regularly.

  • Clean the appliance according to the instructions to avoid damage from incorrect cleaning methods or agents.
  • Cleaning Surfaces:
    • Stainless steel surfaces: Clean with a sponge and hot soapy water, wiping in the direction of the grain. Apply a thin layer of stainless steel care agent with a soft cloth.
    • Lacquered surfaces: Clean with a sponge and hot soapy water.
    • Aluminium: Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
    • Plastic: Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
    • Glass: Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
  • Control Elements: Clean with a damp sponge and warm cleaning solution, then dry with a soft cloth.
  • Grease Filters: Grease filters trap grease from cooking vapours. Clean them regularly (recommended every two months) to maintain their effectiveness.
    • Manual Cleaning: Soak filters in hot soapy water. For stubborn dirt, use a special degreaser. Clean with a brush, rinse thoroughly, and allow to drip dry.
    • Dishwasher Cleaning: Place filters loosely in the dishwasher. Do not wash heavily soiled filters with dishes. Set dishwasher temperature to a maximum of 70°C. Note: Colour may slightly change after dishwasher cleaning, but this does not affect filter function.
  • Important: Always disconnect from power before cleaning. Do not use steam cleaners or high-pressure cleaners. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.

  • Dimensions: (Detailed measurements provided in diagrams, e.g., height, width, depth, chimney height adjustment ranges).
  • Safety Distances: Minimum distances must be maintained from the hob (e.g., ≥ 650 mm for gas hobs, ≥ 550 mm for electric hobs) and from surrounding walls or cabinets (e.g., ≥ 50 mm).

Mounting the Appliance:

  • Ensure the wall is vertical and has sufficient load-bearing capacity. The maximum weight of the appliance is 40 kg.
  • Drill holes according to the length of the screws provided. Use appropriate wall plugs.
  • Mounting brackets for the chimney cover need to be attached to the wall.

Ducting:

  • Use a short, straight exhaust duct with the largest possible diameter (recommended Ø 150 mm).
  • Long, rough ducts, many bends, or small diameters reduce suction power and increase noise.
  • Use non-flammable ducting material.
  • Install the exhaust duct with a slope of at least 1° away from the appliance to prevent condensate return.
  • A non-return flap should be installed in extraction mode.

Electrical Connection:

  • Ensure the appliance is connected to a properly installed, earthed socket.
  • The power socket must remain accessible after installation.
  • If not accessible, an all-pole disconnection device must be installed in the fixed electrical installation.
  • Electrical installation should only be carried out by a qualified electrician. Consider installing a residual current device (RCD).

  • The appliance is supplied with a power cable of approximately 1.30 m.

General Installation Notes:

  • Follow current building regulations and local utility company regulations.
  • Ensure easy access for servicing.
