Safety Instructions

Set the ventilation speed to the highest setting.

Never operate two gas hobs on high heat simultaneously for more than 15 minutes. Two gas hobs correspond to a high-power burner.

Preventing Material Damage

⚠️ WARNING – Risk of Electric Shock! A damaged appliance or damaged mains cable is dangerous.

Never use a damaged appliance.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always pull the mains plug.

If the appliance or mains cable is damaged, immediately disconnect the mains cable or switch off the fuse in the fuse box.

3.1 Packaging Disposal

3.2 Energy Saving

If you follow these instructions, your appliance will consume less electricity.

Adapt the fan speed to the intensity of the cooking vapors.

✔️ Low fan speed means low energy consumption.

✔️ Use intensive speed only when necessary.

In case of intensive cooking vapors, select a higher ventilation speed as soon as possible.

✔️ Odors spread less in the room.

Switch off the lighting when you no longer need it.

✔️ When the lighting is off, it consumes no energy.

Clean or replace filters at the specified intervals.

✔️ Filter efficiency is maintained.

Use the cooking lid.

✔️ Cooking vapors and condensate are reduced.

Only use additional functions when necessary.

✔️ Deactivating additional functions reduces energy consumption.

Modes of Operation

4.1 Recycling Mode

The aspirated air is cleaned by grease filters and an anti-odor filter, then returned into the room.

To neutralize odors in recycling mode, you must install an anti-odor filter. For information on the different ways to use the appliance in recycling mode, consult our catalog or your specialist retailer. You can purchase accessories from a specialist store, from after-sales service, or from the online shop.

Description of the Appliance

5.1 Overview

This section provides an overview of your appliance's components.

Before First Use

6.1 Setting an Operating Mode

By default, your appliance is set to operate in recycling mode.

Operation

7.1 Switching on the Appliance

Press the [power symbol] button. The appliance starts at fan speed 2.

7.2 Switching off the Appliance

Press the [power symbol] button.

7.3 Setting Fan Speed

Press 1, 2, or 3.

7.4 Activating Intensive Speed

If particularly strong odors or fumes develop, you can use the intensive speed.

To activate intensive speed, press the [up arrow] button. After approx. 6 minutes, the appliance automatically switches to fan speed 3.

7.5 Deactivating Intensive Speed

Return to the desired fan speed.

7.6 Setting PowerBoost Position

An intermediate position of the glass front is possible on the appliance. Using the intermediate position is recommended for strong odors or vapors.

Grasp the glass front by the center and open it carefully.

7.7 Switching on the Light

You can switch the lighting on and off independently of the fan.

Press the [light symbol] button.

7.8 Adjusting Brightness

Press the [brightness symbol] button until the desired brightness is reached.

Additional Functions via the Home Connect App

8.1 Smart Hood Control

With a compatible hob and the Home Connect app, cooking data is continuously provided, and the appliance uses it to automatically adjust the fan speed and switch the appliance on and off automatically.

8.2 Performance Profile

Home Connect allows you to set your personal performance profile. You can choose between a performance profile optimized for noise or power.

8.3 Filter Saturation

You can set the saturation indicator according to the filters used in the Home Connect app.

8.4 Hob-Hood Control

You can connect your appliance to a compatible hob and thus control your appliance's functions from the hob.

8.5 Fan Run-on

The fan run-on removes residual odors and serves to dry the anti-odor filter after cooking.

8.6 Intermittent Operation

To ventilate your kitchen regularly, you can use intermittent operation. With intermittent operation, the fan switches to the selected speed for the chosen time.

8.7 Voice Control

You can control your extractor hood using voice commands, for example with Amazon Alexa.

8.8 Adjusting Color Temperature

The Home Connect app allows you to adjust the color temperature of the light from cool to warm.

Home Connect

This appliance can be networked. Connect your appliance to a mobile device to control it via the Home Connect app, change basic settings, or monitor its operating status.

Home Connect services are not offered in all countries. The availability of the Home Connect function depends on the Home Connect services offered in your country. You can find more information on this at: www.home-connect.com.

The Home Connect app guides you through the entire connection process. Follow the steps recommended by the Home Connect app to make settings.

Tip: Also observe the instructions in the Home Connect app.

9.1 Configuring the Home Connect App

  1. Install the Home Connect app on your mobile device.
  2. Start the Home Connect app and configure access to Home Connect. The Home Connect app guides you through the connection process.

9.2 Configuring Home Connect

Conditions:

  1. Scan the QR code below. The QR code allows you to install the Home Connect app and connect your appliance.
  2. Follow the instructions in the Home Connect app.

9.3 Resetting the Connection

Condition: The appliance is switched off.

To reset the registered connections with the home network and Home Connect, press and hold the [power symbol] button twice.

9.4 Software Update

The software update function allows you to update your appliance's software, e.g., to optimize it, fix errors, perform security updates, or offer additional functions and services.

To do this, you must be registered as a Home Connect user, have installed the app on your mobile device, and connected to the Home Connect server.

As soon as a software update is available, you will be notified via the Home Connect app, and you can initiate the installation via the app. After a successful download, you can start the installation via the Home Connect app if you are within your home WLAN (Wi-Fi) network. The Home Connect app will inform you as soon as the installation is successful.

9.5 Remote Diagnosis

Customer service can access your appliance via remote diagnosis if you specifically request it, your appliance is connected to the Home Connect server, and remote diagnosis is available in the country where you use the appliance.

9.6 Data Protection

Follow the data protection guidelines.

When your appliance is first connected to an Internet-connected home network, your appliance transmits the following data categories to the Home Connect server (initial registration):

This initial registration prepares for the use of Home Connect functions and is only necessary when you want to use Home Connect functions for the first time.

Note: Please note that Home Connect functions can only be used with the Home Connect app. You can view data protection information in the Home Connect app.

Hob-Hood Control

You can connect your appliance to a matching hob and thus control your appliance's functions from the hob.

If the hob and the extractor hood are Home Connect compatible, connect both appliances in Home Connect and follow the app's instructions.

Cleaning and Maintenance

To keep your appliance in good working order for a long time, clean and maintain it carefully.

11.1 Cleaning Products

You can purchase suitable cleaning products from customer service or the online shop.

Do not use a steam cleaner or high-pressure cleaner to clean the appliance.

ATTENTION Inappropriate cleaning products can damage the appliance's surfaces.

Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.

Do not use highly alcoholic cleaners.

Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive sponges.

Only use glass cleaners, glass scrapers, or stainless steel care products if they are recommended in the cleaning instructions for the corresponding part.

Rinse cloths and sponges thoroughly before use.

11.2 Cleaning the Appliance

Clean the appliance as indicated to avoid damaging the different surfaces and parts through incorrect cleaning or inappropriate cleaning products.

    • Clean stainless steel surfaces with a sponge cloth and warm water with cleaning agent, following the direction of the polish.
    • Clean lacquered surfaces with a sponge cloth and warm water with cleaning agent.
    • Clean aluminum with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
    • Clean plastic with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
    • Clean glass with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
  3. Dry them afterwards with a soft cloth.
  4. On stainless steel surfaces, apply a thin film of stainless steel cleaner with a soft cloth.

You can purchase stainless steel care products from customer service or the online shop.

11.3 Cleaning Control Elements and Indicators

Do not use a damp sponge cloth.

  2. Clean using a damp sponge cloth and warm cleaning agent.
  3. Dry them afterwards with a soft cloth.

11.4 Dismounting the Grease Filter

  1. Grasp the glass front by the center and open it completely.
  2. ATTENTION Falling grease filters can damage the hob underneath.
  3. Support the grease filter with one hand and catch it.
  4. Open the grease filter latch and fold down the grease filter.
  5. Remove the grease filters from their mountings. To prevent grease from dripping, hold the grease filters horizontally.

11.5 Manual Cleaning of Grease Filters

Grease filters filter grease from cooking vapors. Regularly cleaned grease filters ensure a high level of grease absorption.

We recommend cleaning the grease filters every 2 months.

  1. Observe the information on cleaning products. → "Cleaning Products", Page 9
  2. Soak the grease filters in warm cleaning agent. For stubborn dirt, you can use a special degreaser. You can find a degreaser from customer service or the online shop.
  3. Clean the grease filters with a brush.
  4. Rinse them thoroughly.
  5. Allow the grease filters to drain.

11.6 Cleaning Grease Filters in the Dishwasher

Grease filters filter grease from cooking vapors. Regularly cleaned grease filters ensure a high level of grease absorption.

We recommend cleaning the grease filters every 2 months.

⚠️ WARNING – Risk of Fire! Grease deposits in the grease filters can ignite.

Clean the grease filter regularly.

ATTENTION Grease filters can be damaged if they get jammed in the dishwasher.

Do not jam the grease filters.

Note: Slight discolorations may appear when cleaning grease filters in the dishwasher. These discolorations do not affect the function of the grease filters.

  1. Observe the information on cleaning products. → "Cleaning Products", Page 9
  2. Place the grease filters loosely in the dishwasher. Do not clean heavily soiled grease filters with dishes. For stubborn dirt, you can use a special degreaser. You can find a degreaser from customer service or the online shop.
  3. Start the dishwasher. For temperature setting, choose a maximum of 70 °C.
  4. Allow the grease filters to drain.

11.7 Mounting the Grease Filters

ATTENTION Falling grease filters can damage the hob underneath.

Support the grease filter with one hand and catch it.

  1. Insert the grease filters.
  2. Tilt the grease filters upwards, then engage the locking mechanisms.
  3. Ensure the locking mechanisms engage.
  4. Close the glass front.

11.8 Anti-odor Filter for Air Recirculation Mode

Anti-odor filters bind odors in air recirculation mode. Regularly replaced anti-odor filters ensure a high degree of odor separation.

The anti-odor filter must be replaced every 12 months with normal operation (approx. one hour per day). The anti-odor filter cannot be cleaned or regenerated.

Anti-odor filters are available from customer service or the online shop. Only use original anti-odor filters.

Replacing the Odor Filter

  1. Open the glass cover.
  2. Remove the grease filter. Information on removing the grease filter can be found in your appliance's user manual.
  3. Place the large anti-odor filters at the bottom and fold them upwards [arrow symbol]. The foam must compress when inserted.
  4. Place the small anti-odor filter at the rear and fold it upwards [arrow symbol].
  5. The anti-odor filters are installed.
  6. Mount the grease filters.
  7. Close the glass cover.

Troubleshooting

12.1 Malfunctions

Fault: Appliance not working.

  3. It may take a few minutes for all functions to become available.

13.1 Disposing of a Used Appliance

Environmentally friendly disposal allows valuable raw materials to be recovered.

  1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains cable.
  2. Cut the mains cable.
  3. Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally friendly manner.

If the appliance is built-in, the mains cable plug must be easily accessible. If free access is not possible, an all-pole disconnection device must be installed in the fixed wiring installation, in accordance with the conditions of overvoltage category III and installation regulations.

During appliance installation, ensure that the mains cable is not pinched or damaged.

Take general remarks into account during installation.

19.7 Remarks on Electrical Connection

To safely connect the appliance electrically, observe these instructions.

⚠️ WARNING – Risk of Electric Shock! It must always be possible to disconnect the appliance from the electrical network. The appliance must only be connected to a properly installed safety socket.

The mains cable socket must be freely accessible after the appliance has been mounted.

If this is not possible, an all-pole disconnection device must be installed in the fixed electrical installation in accordance with the conditions of overvoltage category III and installation regulations.

Only a qualified electrician is authorized to carry out fixed electrical installation. We recommend installing a residual current device (FI switch) in the appliance's power circuit.

Components with sharp edges inside the appliance can damage the connection cable.

Do not pinch or trap the connection cable.

The connection line is approx. 1.30 m long.

This appliance complies with CE regulations regarding interference suppression.

This appliance complies with protection class 1. Therefore, only use this appliance with a protective conductor socket.

Do not connect the appliance to the power supply during installation.

Ensure that protection against accidental contact is guaranteed by the installation.

19.8 Remarks on Recess Situation

Mount this appliance on the kitchen wall.

The appliance must be installed before wall units if their depth is greater than 370 mm.

For the installation of special accessories, follow the enclosed installation instructions.

The width of the extractor hood must be at least as wide as the hob.

To optimally capture cooking vapors, install the appliance centrally above the hob.

19.9 Installation

Wall Check

  1. Check that the wall is horizontal and has sufficient load-bearing capacity. The maximum weight of the appliance is 30 kg.
  2. The depth of the drilled holes must correspond to the length of the screws.
  3. Use the supplied screws and anchors. The supplied screws and anchors are suitable for solid masonry. Use appropriate fastening material for other constructions, e.g., plasterboard, cellular concrete, Poroton bricks.

Wall Preparation

  1. Observe the remarks on the recess situation. → Page 17
  2. Ensure that no electrical, gas, or water pipes are located in the drilling area.
  3. Cover the hob to prevent damage.
  4. Determine the position of the extractor hood and lightly mark the position of the appliance's lower edge on the wall.
    • Determine the center from the hob.
    • Observe the safety distances from the hob.

We recommend hanging the extractor hood so that the lower edge of the glass deflector is aligned with the lower edge of the adjacent wall unit.

5. To facilitate installation, place the packaging part that serves as a template against the pre-marked line and fix it.

6. Mark the screw positions.

7. For fastenings, drill holes with a Ø of 8 mm and a depth of 80 mm.

8. Remove the template.

Mounting the Appliance Suspension

  1. Manually screw in the appliance suspension for the extractor hood.
  2. Use a spirit level to align the appliance suspension horizontally and screw it in.
  3. Completely screw in the supplied screws into the upper suspension of the appliance.

Mounting the Appliance

  1. Note: The mains plug should only be plugged in once the appliance is fully mounted. Place the mains plug on top of the appliance.
  2. Remove the grease filter.
  3. Hook the appliance from above onto the appliance suspension so that it clicks firmly into place.

Adjusting the Appliance Height

To align the appliance, adjust the appliance's height from above using a screwdriver if necessary.

Securing the Appliance

Secure the appliance from above using 2 screws.

Note: Do not hit the gas dampers against the painted inner frame.

Click the gas dampers into place on the left and right of the appliance.

Mounting the Glass

Hold the glass with both hands and support it.

Hook the right hinge plate into the counterpiece on the appliance and click it into place.

Hold the glass until both hinges are clicked into place.

Click the gas dampers into place on the left and right of the glass.

Connecting the Plug

Ensure the plug clicks into place.

Mounting the Air Deflector

  1. Place the air deflector uniformly onto the exhaust connection.
  2. To change the air circulation, turn the air deflector to the right or left [arrow symbol].
  3. Screw in the air deflector.
  4. Wrap the cable around the air deflector.

Connection via plug to the glass panel

Insert the protective sleeve into the designated opening.

Note: If the mains plug was connected before the complete appliance installation, the appliance must be de-energized by removing the mains plug or switching off the fuse. → "Troubleshooting", Page 12 Connect the plug into the socket.

Dismounting the Appliance

Note: The design profiles are not gripping elements. Do not lift the appliance by the design profiles.

  1. Dismount the design profiles.
  2. Loosen the 2 upper nuts of the appliance suspension.
  3. Remove the appliance from the wall.
