Getting Started

Connection Preparation

Bring the camera and your phone within 30-100cm of the router.

Insert the Micro SD Card

Insert the Micro SD card gently on the side edge of the camera.

Connect the Power to the Camera

Connect the camera to power using the Micro USB power adapter and USB cable.

Install the Application

Install App

Download the "Kogan SmarterHome™" app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

Register

If you do not have a Kogan SmarterHome™ account, register or sign in with a verification code sent by SMS.

To register:

1. Tap to enter the registration page.
2. The system automatically recognizes your country/area. You can also select your country code manually. Enter your email address and tap 'Next'.
3. Alternatively, select 'Register by mobile number' and enter the verification code sent via SMS.
4. Create a profile on the next page to define your location and room.

Pairing the Device

Set Device in Pairing Mode

When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (indicator light rapidly flashing).

If not automatically in pairing mode when powered on, manually set the device by pressing and holding the reset button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly.

Add Device Through Network

Once registered, tap the '+' icon in the upper right corner of the app's home page to add a new device.

Select the product type from the app options (e.g., Home Security > Cameras).

Ensure the device is in pairing mode (indicator light rapidly flashing) and tap "Confirm light is rapidly flashing".

Wi-Fi Connection

Upon confirming pairing mode, enter your Wi-Fi details. Ensure your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

QR Code Scanning

The camera will activate and scan for a QR code. Press 'Continue' in the app to display the code. Hold your phone in front of the camera to scan it.

Confirmation

Select "I heard a prompt" when the scan is successful. If no sound is heard, select "No prompts" and try again.

Connection Completion

The device will connect to the app. Keep the Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and SmarterHome™ device close until connection is complete.

Post-Setup

After adding, you can rename the device and assign it to a location. It will appear on the app's home page.

Notes:

• The device and app must use the same Wi-Fi network.
• The device is only compatible with 2.4GHz networks.

Google Home Control

Note: A Google Home account must be set up prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome™ device.

Adding "SmarterHome" to the Google Home App

1. From the Google Home app home page, select the '+' icon to access the 'Add and manage' page.
2. Select 'Set up device', then under 'Works with Google', select 'Have something already set up?'.
3. Use the search bar to type 'Smarter Home' to find the Kogan SmarterHome™ service.
4. Tap 'Authorise' to grant Google permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.
5. Sign into your SmarterHome™ account using your registered email or mobile number.

Device Management

Once connected, compatible devices linked to your SmarterHome™ account will display. Assign them to rooms and set up routines.

Tap on devices to view available commands.

Amazon Alexa Control

Note: An Alexa account must be set up prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome™ device.

Adding "SmarterHome" to the Alexa App

1. From the Alexa app home page, select the menu icon (☰) and choose 'Skills & Games'.
2. Search for 'Smarter Home' to find the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill.
3. Tap 'Enable to Use' to add the skill.
4. Sign into your SmarterHome™ account using your registered email or mobile number.
5. Tap 'Authorise' to grant Alexa permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.

Device Control

Once connected, the app will search for and display devices linked to your SmarterHome™ account. Control your Kogan SmarterHome™ devices using Alexa voice commands.

Wall Mounting

The camera can be placed on a shelf or mounted to a wall or ceiling.

Mounting to the Wall

• Attach the bracket to the wall or ceiling using the mounting screws.
• If mounting to plaster, use the supplied plastic plaster anchors.
• Attach the camera to the bracket, ensuring it is secure to prevent falling.
