GE 24-Hour Outdoor Timer Instructions

Outdoor Timer Instructions:

When the timer is plugged in, the timer's dial will turn clockwise. The pointer on the face of the dial points to the current time of day.

Locate the segments around the outer edge of the timer's dial. These segments, each representing 15 minutes, can be pushed out and away from the edge of the dial (try using the tip of a pen or pencil). Conversely, segments that have been pushed out can be easily pushed back in by hand. Be sure all segments are pushed in before programming. Select a time period (or periods) you want the appliance turned on, then push out ALL the segments that fall on or within that time period. For example, to have the timer turn an appliance on at 10 PM and off at 2 AM, push out the segments representing 10 PM and 2 AM, and ALL the segments in between. See Figure 1. You may need to turn the dial clockwise to access the desired segments.
Rotate the timer's dial clockwise until the pointer on the face of the dial points to the current time of day. Note: daytime hours (from 12 AM to 12 PM) are highlighted with a grey background.
Set Timer / On switch to the TIMER position.
Plug the timer into an electrical outlet convenient to the lights to be controlled.
Plug the lights into the outlet on the bottom of the timer. The lights will now turn on and off at the times you have set.

NOTE: To override the timer and use your lights normally, set the Timer / On switch to the ON position. This will deactivate the timer's control of the lights, but the timer's dial will still show the current time of day. To reactivate the timer's control of the lights set the timer's Timer / On switch to TIMER. In case of power failure, reset the time of day as explained in step 2.

Important Usage Note: Not for permanent installation. Do not install or use this product for more than a 90 day period per year. When used outdoors, plug only into a GFCI protected receptacle. Receptacle should be mounted in an approved “weatherproof while in use" type outlet box.

Figure 1 - shows timer set to turn appliance ON at 10 PM and OFF at 2 AM. Notice ALL segments between 10 PM and 2 AM have been pushed out. Current time is 8:00 PM.

Lorsque la minuterie est branchée, son cadran tourne dans le sens horaire. L'aiguille du cadran pointe vers l'heure actuelle de la journée.

Repérez les segments situés autour du bord extérieur du cadran de la minuterie. Ces segments, qui représentent chacun 15 minutes, peuvent être réglés en les éloignant du bord du cadran (utilisez la pointe d'un stylo ou d'un crayon). Inversement, les segments qui ont été réglés peuvent facilement être remis à leur position initiale manuellement. Assurez-vous que tous les segments sont remis à leur position initiale avant de commencer la programmation. Sélectionnez une période (ou des périodes) à laquelle vous voulez que l'appareil se mette en marche, puis réglez TOUS les segments qui se retrouvent dans cette période. Par exemple, pour que la minuterie mette en marche un appareil à 22 h (10PM) et l'arrête à 2 h (2AM), réglez les segments qui représentent « 10PM » et « 2AM » et TOUS les segments entre ces deux segments. Consultez la figure 1. Il se peut que vous deviez tourner le cadran dans le sens horaire pour accéder aux segments voulus.
Tournez le cadran de la minuterie dans le sens horaire jusqu'à ce que l'aiguille du cadran pointe vers l'heure actuelle de la journée. Nota : Les heures de jour (de minuit à midi [12AM à 12PM]) sont mises en évidence par un fond gris.
Réglez l'interrupteur de la minuterie à la position « TIMER » (minuterie).
Branchez la minuterie sur une prise électrique pratique pour contrôler les lumières.
Branchez les lumières sur les prises dans la partie inférieure de la minuterie. Les lumières s'allumeront et s'éteindront aux heures programmées.

NOTA: Pour annuler les réglages de la minuterie et utiliser les lumières normalement, réglez l'interrupteur de la minuterie à la position « ON » (marche). Cela désactive la commande des lumières de la minuterie, mais le cadran de la minuterie affichera toujours l'heure actuelle de la journée. Pour réactiver la commande des lumières de la minuterie, réglez l'interrupteur de la minuterie à la position « TIMER » (minuterie). En cas de panne de courant, réinitialisez l'heure du jour comme l'explique l'étape 2.

Note d'utilisation importante: Ne pas installer de façon permanente. N'installez pas ou n'utilisez pas ce produit pendant une période dépassant plus de 90 jours par année. Si la minuterie est utilisée à l'extérieur, branchez-la uniquement sur une prise protégée de type disjoncteur de fuite de terre. La prise doit être montée dans un boîtier de prise de type « à l'épreuve des intempéries lorsqu'elle est utilisée ».
